The last sizzling novel in Kristen Proby's Romancing Manhattan series finds a widower falling deeply in love again with a woman who has scars of her own.
When Carter Shaw’s wife died five years ago, he was left to pick up the pieces not only of his own broken heart but also that of his devastated eight-year-old daughter, Gabby—leaving him with no time for anything else,...more
I have hard copies of everything, in case the power goes out or there’s a zombie apocalypse. Prepared is an understatement for what I am.
“I beg your pardon,” Mary demands just as Sienna snickers beside me. “You can beg for it, but I’m not going to give it,” I reply,
That man is hotter than July in Hades.
I don’t think anything in the world compares to the venom a twelve-year-old can spew in your face. Maybe I should call my own mother and apologize for once being twelve myself.
I do not like this book. I read the previous book and at that time I thought it was OK. After All fails me. It is supposed to be about Manhattan. But I do not get a vibe about the infamous neighbourhood at all in this book.
There is no character development. The characters falls into insta lust right away. Even the single dad trope can not help the story to be more interesting.
There is min angst/ drama in this book. The steamy scenes are not even hot. It feels cold.

After All is the third and final book in in Kristen Proby's Romancing Manhattan series. This is the story that I've been dying for since I started this series and I'm actually happy that Carter's story was the one we get end on. Even though the wait just about killed me.
Carter is a widower with a pre-teen daughter that we've seen through some dicey times. Nora is his assistant who has always been there for him, for both work and personal matters. They had a bit of ...more
Recently divorced executive assistant.
Assistant has been there for the hero and his daughter since the mother’s passing in a work and friendship capacity. She’s already weaved into their life, and one day the way she’s blended in changes.
I thought that After All was good. It’s pretty easy street sugary sweet, but there are some angsty misunderstanding moments that keep it interesting f. Nora and Carter both have these budding feelings for each other, but they both tr ...more
After All is the final book in the Romancing Manhattan series by Kristen Proby. In this edition the reader gets the story of Carter, powerful lawyer, single dad, and widower, and Nora, his assistant!
Nora has been Carter's assistant for 10 years. Its always been professional; Nora was there for him when his wife died 5 years before. But, there is a shift in their relationship. Oh my, all the swoons! Talk about the most perfect of endings, a true HEA epitome! AFTER ALL is a bundle of office romance, second chance at love, amazingness. Carter and Nora’s emotional and uber sexy love story is pure KP deliciousness!!!
Can’t believe we are saying goodbye to one of my all time favorite series/world! How bittersweet… And what a way to end with a blossoming new love and ‘new’ beginnings. Carter and Nora are ...more
I've liked the snippets of both of them that we got in the previous books. Nora stands up for herself, she's strong and self-reliant. Carter is charming and definitely used to getting what he wants, when he wants it. Gabby was delightful, as was seeing the previous couples.
Plot wise, it was okay. There's a lot of repetition in phrases and actions and the relationship between Nora and Carter felt rush ...more
After All is the final novel in the Romancing Manhattan series by Kristen Proby. Carter and Nora are familiar characters to those who have read the previous books and if you haven't fear not because the book is a stand-alone.
I was really liking this novel until the drama came. I felt like Gabby's behavior as out of place and it was not the behavior the Gabby from the previous parts of the book would have. The most important thing that bothered me though was the reason Carter and Nora b ...more
After All is the third and final book in the Romancing Manhattan series of contemporary romances.
This is Carter's story. The narrators are Nora (34) and Carter (40) (1st person POVs). The story takes place mostly in Manhattan.
These books are sexy interconnected standalones. This book could be read without having read the others. But all of the characters from the previous books are in this book a lot. So I would definitely recommend read ...more
This is the 3rd and final book of the series and by far my favorite of the bunch! This can be read as a stand alone but you will enjoy it more if you have some sense of the chemistry between the 3 men and how their lives intertwine.
I am a sucker for single dad stories, so it seemed like a no brainer to grab this one up. Carter has done everything for his daughter the past 5 years and ignored any needs he might have. All along, his assistant Nora has been by his side and been there for ...more
Romancing Manhattan #3
By: Kristen Proby
After All is third in a trilogy but fine as a standalone. Nora and Carter are long time co-workers with a professional and proper relationship. Carter has a twelve year old daughter and a wife who passed away five years ago. Nora is a recent divorcee. Neither of the two have had it easy. Then, something t ...more

This book is the third and last book in the Manhattan series. I've been looking forward to Carter's books. After getting to know him a bit from the other 2 books I knew he hasn't had it easy so I was dying to know him better. I've enjoyed this series so far so I was looking forward to get stuck in.
The characters are great in this book to 2 main character Carter and Nora. Nora has worked as Carter's assistant for a long while. There isn't much she doesn't know about him. Nora ev ...more
~ 5 Nora & Carter Stars ~
Sometimes I love a story that gets to the heart of the romance without all the angst and drama leading up to it.
That’s exactly what After All was. This was an enjoyable and swoony office romance.
I still believe that Kristen Proby is the queen of swoony romance stories!! I always have a huge smile on my face while reading her books and I know my heart won’t be torn apart just to be put back together.
Carter is a partner in his law firm and has been a single father to his daughter Gaby since his wife passed away five years earlier. Although he has been focused on his career and his daughter he is ready to start dating a ...more
After All is the 3rd book in Kristen Proby’s Romancing Manhattan Series. It is an interconnected standalone that can be read without having had read the first two books in the series. This is a sweet, quick, low angst read that I throughly enjoyed. Carter is a hardworking Lawyer and Single Dad. Nora is his Executive Assistant. She is recently divorced. The two have been dancing around their feelings for one another for awhile but have tried not to act on them due to the fact they work tog ...more
The Romancing Manhattan series is back with its third standalone contemporary romance and y'all, Kristen Proby has got just a way with her words. I've not read books one and two in this series (huge bummer!) but I had zero problems diving headfirst into this BEAUTIFUL romance and I'll totally be going back go catch up asap.
Carter and Nora, ahhhhhhh these two! They lit up my kindle the moment they landed on it and y'all, I couldn't put them or their journey down from the first page to th ...more

I waited so long for this book. The blurb ticked off every single one of my boxes, but I confess myself disappointed. First of all, NO ONE that lives and works in Manhattan drives to work. They just don't. Especially an office assistant. That immediately took me out of the story, and I never really got in back in to it. Carter was a jerk when it felt like he needed some dimension, but it didn't fit the character. It just felt like all these scenes were started and never finished. ...more
Carter and Nora were fun. And hot, and the romance felt real.
And, at this point, that is the reason I pick up anything written by Kristen Proby, because I know the romance is going to feel real, that I am going to be pulled in to the story, and that I am not going to have any moments where I find myself feeling like I need to force myself to continue.
I loves that this romance was an evolution of 2 people who have known one another for years, who were both marri ...more
I will say ... seriously her epilogues when a series wraps up... they kill me in the best way possible!
I loved this boss/employee relationship and watching it mature! Add a single dad with a preteen daughter.... seriously amazing!
This is another ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from Kristen Proby. I was in a total mood funk and needed something to lift my spirits. This book was exactly what I needed ❤️
Kristen and her husband, John, make their home in her hometown of Whitefish, Montana with their two cats and dog.
