Forces: In Search of Power is book two of the young adult urban fantasy Kinetics Sequence series.

This story continues on from book one, and they should be read in order. I read book one six years ago and I would have loved a short recap of the story so far, as I found it hard to remember much about the initial story.

The tale takes place here on Earth and revolves around a war between various factions; most of them have Kinetic powers. Fifteen-year-old Eugene remains one of the main char

Can't say enough about how impressed I am with this sequel. The characters are complex and it's obvious the author took great care in making them fully realized people. The relationships between are complex and intriguing. This volume has action, intrigue, drama as well as plenty of reflection. This perfectly takes a snapshot about the emotional development of a teen in an impossible situation. It has a self awareness of the complexity of human nature that few YA novels really have.
