He thought he was in control until she snuck into his heart...

Carter Hill walked away from a perfectly fine life and relationship…all for a career she's chased since she was fourteen. Years and a PhD later, she loves her job as a water rights consultant. At the same time, now that all her brothers are happily married, she’s lonely and wanting more. But the only man in her life is Logan – super serious, no sense of humor, and friend-zoned. Or is he? Perhaps a sexy, no-strings affair with a man more driven than she is could help her move on.

Logan Cartez doesn't date, do relationships, or worry about commitment. He's married to his job – making sure what destroyed his family ranch and their legacy doesn't happen to others. When Carter propositions him, what began as a passionate and unforgettable night soon develops into more. Logan finds himself doing things he swore he never would, and the feisty, brilliant, blue-eyed rancher’s daughter has him thinking about so much more than work.

Kadie Scott

Multi-award-winning author, Kadie Scott, writes steamy romantic comedies and western romance. She loves plots that move hot and fast, feisty heroines with sass, heroes with heart, a dash of snark, and oodles of HEAs! Other titles include wife, mother, Star Wars geek, ex-competitive skydiver, spreadsheet lover, eMBA, organizational guru, Texan, Aggie, and chocoholic.

Kadie attempted to find a practical career related to her favorite pastime by earning a degree in English Rhetoric (Technical Writing) and an MBA. However, she swiftly discovered that writing without imagination is not nearly as fun as writing with it.

Kadie currently resides in Austin, Texas, with her own swoon-worthy hero, their angelic (mostly) kids, who are growing up way too fast, and 2 adorable fur babies.

Carter Hill had to choose between the man she loved, ranching lie or following her dreams, her PhD and her job where she knew she could make a difference. She could only hope that love would find her again now that her brothers have all married, but until then, she would work hard as a water rights consultant, fighting alongside the lawyers who advocate for those taken advantage of.

Logan Cartez, too serious, an all-business and no play attorney is on a mission to ensure that ranchers like his family are not destroyed when their rights to the lifeblood of ranching are stomped on. Now working with Carter, he finds himself attracted to a woman firmly in his off-limits zone, a colleague, who is not only beautiful, but intelligent and as passionate about her work as he is.

Can Carter awaken the playful side of Logan and perhaps open the vault to his heart? Maybe they could find a no-strings attached adult relationship to while away their free time on their latest case?

Kadie Scott's LANDING THE LAWMAN is hot enough to make water boil as one woman does her sexy best to break down the walls of indifference in a man who has so much passion to share. Humor, heart and heat, more heat and a twisted water rights battle, yep, that IS steam coming off my Kindle!

I received a complimentary ARC edition from Kadie Scott! This is my honest and voluntary review.

Three and a half stars.

Carter Hill is the only Hill daughter and a water rights consultant. Her biggest client is lawyer Logan Cortez who has dedicated his life to helping small farms protect their water supply.

What started out as a working relationship evolved over time into a friendship where Carter helped Logan to see there was more to life than work. But after Carter's relationship ends both she and Logan start to realise that there could be more to their relationship than just friendship, but it takes Carter's mother being injured for the two of them to cross that line.

I have enjoyed this series and I was looking forward to reading Carter's story. Whilst I enjoyed both the start and the ending I felt the middle of the book sagged a bit for me and it didn't hold my attention, hence it took me the best part of December to finish a book I would normally expect to read in just over a day. Autry's book Taming the Troublemaker remains my favourite of the series.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher Tule in return for an honest review.

I loved this book! I have been fortunate to read a few books by this author so I knew that Landing the Lawman was going to be a good read and as expected I wasn’t disappointed! It was a fantastic western romance that had me turning the pages to find out just what was going to happen next. I loved Carter and Logan – she was a fantastic female lead, independent but also with a small side to her that did want a man to sweep her off her feet and romance her! Enter Logan! He may have been married to his career but there was no doubting the instant attraction between him and Carter when they met. I know that he definitely had my heart racing a few times!!!
This is the fifth book in the Hills of Texas series and can be read as a standalone but as I had read previous books I loved that characters from them popped up in this one. I would highly recommend reading all if these books!
Landing the Lawman was a wonderful romantic read and one that I would highly recommend! I look forward to more from Ms Scott in the future!

Landing the Lawman is the fifth book in the Hills of Texas Series by Kadie Scott. Even though this is the fifth book in the series, it can be read as a standalone. It is another great contemporary romance- with a little drama, lots of chemistry, emotion, steam, tension, angst, banter- and a friends to lovers element.
We’ve met the Hills in the previous books, and this is Carter’s story. This is one of my favourites of the series and I loved following Carter and Logan and seeing how things developed between them. They are such opposites- but really are perfect for each other. Two halves to a whole. And as with the other books in this series, it left me feeling good at the end and really satisfied with how things played out.
I can always count on Ms. Scott to produce a great story that will pull me in and keep me engaged the whole way through. I can’t wait to see what she does next.

Thank you, Ms. Scott!

Goodness me.  There is so much mind changing in this book that you might get whiplash.  And you know what? I don't care.  The back and forth between these two is hugely enjoyable and really, just pulled me further into the story.

I loved the pull these two had.  The tension.  The restraint.  The depth of their connection.  All of that came together in a beautiful cocktail to make a very tasty love story.

An enjoyable read featuring a seemingly aloof hero, who is indeed a very lonely and passionate man and a strong, determined heroine
The attraction and chemistry between Logan and Carter in “Landing the Lawman”, by Kadie Scott (Tule Publishing), is very palpable; co-workers and both intelligent people, they have a solid history and friendship before the romance happens.
Logan is a fascinating hero, hiding a past full of hurt, but not overtaken by it. His passion for his work and determination to help the underdog ranchers make him an attractive character.
Carter’s honesty, straightforwardness and courage assuming her ideals (and her romantic/sexual interest in Logan) is admirable. I also liked the insight about her and Logan’s job and the water rights issues.

He thought he was in control until she snuck into his heart…

At the same time, now that all her brothers are happily married, she’s lonely and wanting more. But the only man in her life is Logan – super serious, no sense of humor, and friend-zoned. Or is he? Logan finds himself doing things he swore he never would, and the feisty, brilliant, blue-eyed rancher’s daughter has him thinking about so much more than work.
This is Carter Hill and Logan Cartez's story.
She paused at Mrs. Landingham’s desk. As always, Logan’s executive assistant had her salt-and-pepper hair scraped back in a severe bun. In combination with a gray suit, no makeup, and unsmiling countenance, the woman was intimidating at best. She was also the most efficient person Carter had ever met, and Logan’s moods didn’t put a dent in her rawhide exterior.
As soon as she spied Carter, Mrs. Landingham stood from behind her desk, coming around, not to greet her but to open the door.
“Shall I—” “Please go in.” Mrs. Landingham practically shoved her into the room, closing the door behind her with a decidedly put-upon snap.
The man standing behind his desk jerked his head up from a stack of papers, recognition flickering in his hard, dark eyes for a miniscule moment before thick black brows descended into a scowl.
He opened his mouth, no doubt to ream her, but Carter beat him to the punch, sending him a sugary smile. “You bellowed?” She blinked at him in innocent curiosity, biting back a laugh, as his brows practically met in the middle.
Carter had to admit she loved those brows. They kept Logan’s face—all symmetrical with chiseled angles and a surprisingly full mouth—from falling into the realm of too pretty. Plus, they were practically a telegraph of his thoughts.
Landing the Lawman by Kadie Scott is a 3 star book.

Sometimes what you are looking for is right in front of you....

Carter Hill was once engaged to a man she had known all of her life. The problem was that he didn't see the real her nor was he willing to open his eyes and see her. So she did the smart thing and broke it off. She had worked hard to earn not only a BS in Engineering but her Masters and a PhD in Hydraulics. And while she loved living in Austin being the best in her field, she still feels like something is missing. But she has her friend and colleague to annoy just like she used to do with her brothers.

Logan Cartez is one of the best lawyers in Texas dealing with water rights. He has a single focus and that is helping those who have been taken advantage of by bigger ranchers and lost their water rights. And he always wins. But his single focus has also meant he doesn't have friends nor does he do relationships. People think of him as a cold fish although he isn't since he is very passionate about helping small ranchers. But he does have one friend, Carter. Although it takes him awhile to realize she is not just his friend but the woman he was meant to be with.

Carter also realizes that she is in love with this wonderful man and that she will have to make the first step to make him start to wake up. And when a family emergency happens, Logan steps up to help her and the sparks fly.

This is a wonderful fast paced book that takes place in the Texas hill country. And yes, it does have a HEA but not without some hiccups. Of course there will be hiccups since Carter is a strong willed intelligent woman who doesn't put up with the BS of a lawyer. Plus she is the only girl in a family with 5 brothers.

I liked this book so much, I have gone back and started to read the other books in this series since I fell in love with her brothers as well.

I did receive a copy of this novel from the publisher in advance in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.

It’s always a bittersweet moment when a series I’ve enjoyed comes to a conclusion, and make no mistake The Hills of Texas has been an amazing series full of family drama, sexy moments, sizzling chemistry, and likable characters who will find a permanent home in your reading heart. The men of the Hill family have found their happy ever after loves leaving Carter, the only daughter, to take the first steps toward her own happy ever after future. A future with a friend who will become a lover but with issues of his own keeping him from letting anyone in. Logan isn’t going to be the easiest hero but he’s definitely worth the effort to win his heart. And one stubborn, feisty woman is about to show him what love can be like with the right woman… her.

Landing the Lawman is definitely of the friends to lovers trope, but it’s also a story of healing, of coming back from having your emotions torn apart to be able to trust in someone, love someone again. I loved Carter and Logan’s story, it’s realistic with some bumps along the road but nothing insurmountable. It’s always a treat to run into old book friends, and I expect to do just that in a final, wrap up the series story. I’ve enjoyed this series very much and although sad to see it’s ending I’m also looking forward to what Kadit Scott brings us next.

I have read and truly enjoyed the previous stories in this series, and this one was one of the best.
Carter Hill is one of five siblings, she being the only girl. Now a woman with a PhD and a water rights consultant she broke up with her boyfriend even though she loved the ranching life promised, but she also loved her job .
Logan Cartez, a lawyer who dedicates his time battling for those taken advantage in the water rights, is a man whose past has defined his present. A tough man , whose fiancee cheated on him, and one who doesn’t do relationships for fear of getting hurt and because he fears he might love his job too much.
Logan frequently hires Carter to test the water and land , and as time has gone by , a sort of friendship has developed. Feeling kept under wrap. But all changes when an emergency calls Carter home, and Logan follows on the excuse that he needs her close by.
It was interesting watching the relationship developing between Carter and Logan. Once we understand Logan’s past , we get to know the man .
But the road to happiness is bumpy, especially when Carter’s integrity is questioned.
Yes, this is a romance, but it’s also a story about family, overcoming the past, and allowing one’s heart to open even though it’s a scary endeavor. Remembering no one is perfect and life is full of ups and downs.
Another wonderful story by this talented author.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Tule Publishing. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Landing the Lawman (Hills of Texas Book 5)
By Kadie Scott
5 out of 5 stars

I loved reading the book Landing the Lawman (Hills of Texas Book 5) by Kadie Scott. It is a western romance book that pulled me in from the beginning and I found myself not able to put it down. I loved reading about the character of Carter Hill and Logan Cartez. Carter is a strong, intelligent, and independent woman. She does, however, feel the loneliness seeing her brothers who are happily married. Logan is a man who doesn’t do relationships and puts his career first. He doesn’t have time for commitments as he puts all his passion into his work. There is an attraction between Carter and Logan. They both feel it. One-night changes things. What does the future hold for Carter and Logan? Will Logan take a chance with Carter? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had my emotions going up and down with the characters. I grew to care about Carter and Logan and wanted them to find happiness. I have read other books in this series and I enjoyed that the characters from the previous books are brought forward into this one. There is plenty of romance in this book that will make the temperature in the room rise. This is a story that warms the heart and I loved the close feeling of family that characters show. Don’t miss out on an amazing book that will not let you go until the final page. I highly recommend reading it.

Landing the Lawman was a great 5 star read and book five in the Hills of Texas series.

Carter is a water rights consultant that works with Logan on cases. She has known him for years. Now that they are both single she is starting to see him in a different light, he is very attractive. While out celebrating after a day in court she gets a phone call from home that changes things for her. She gets a round of shots from the bar and gets flirty with the bartender, Logan sees this and something about it makes him jealous. He can tell that Carter has been different since her call and questions her on it, the alcohol makes her brave and she tells him what she needs at that moment.

Logan immediately excuses them from the celebration and takes her to his home. On the way to his house he tells Carter his intentions and she is shocked. He’s going to give her what she needs. Lets just say they have a heck of a steamy evening. Things are slightly awkward the next morning until Carter gets a call from her Dad, she has to go home to take care of her mother. Logan shocks her when he offers to go with her.

Can they keep they keep things professional or will they fall for each other?

Overall I really enjoyed this read. Logan and Carter were great. All of the secondary characters were great, Carter has a large family. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing and I can’t wait to read more from this series. 1-click and get started today.

I loved Carter and Logan’s friends to lovers story in Landing the Lawman by Kadie Scott, book five in The Hills of Texas series. Carter chose her career over a perfect life and relationship, a job as a water rights consultant that she’s wanted since a teen. With all of her brothers happily married and starting families she’s lonely and has an emptiness she needs to fill. The only other man in her life is Logan Carter, a lawyer married to his job, working to make sure what destroyed his family ranch and legacy doesn't happen to others. An unforgettable night of passion between these two ends up turning into more. The magnetism between Carter and Logan keeps them connected and their chemistry is off the charts. Helping Carter at her family’s ranch has him doing things he promised himself he never would. The strong, feisty, brilliant Carter has him thinking about lots more than work and his no relationship rule. I found myself loving these two and believing they were perfect for each other.

Ms. Scott wrote a wonderful and sexy story that is definitely not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sexual chemistry, amusing banter, and endearing characters giving Carter and Logan a chance to find loved and a future together. I highly recommend Landing the Lawman to other readers.

This is not what I expected for Carters Story. This is better! I love the humor and attitude she has. I don’t think I could love this family any more than I do. They make me laugh, cry and just smile a lot when I’m reading.

Now I have many favorite parts of this book but DAYUM!....Who knew Lawyer talk could be so HOT! Logan knows just how and when to use those words! I don’t think I could be in a courtroom with him after that and not be *uncomfortable* (if you know what I mean)

Logan....Logan....Logan...I love how straight laced and focused you are! But the winds of change are upon you. It’s nice to see you start breaking your mold. That last scene with you and the family??? I would have been sweating bullets or peed my pants...but you hung in there like a champ!

As always I loved seeing and hanging out with all Carters family! The brothers are a hoot in this one. Glad their wives are there to reign them in.

Overall this his highly enjoyable! The writing is so smooth. I am captured from the first paragraph and I can hardly do anything else until that last page is read. Of course then I am sad it’s already over. I will miss this crew until I pick up a book for a re-read.

*nod to the author*
I LOVE the play on words with the title. Very cute! Also the jobs these two have were interesting to learn about. Thank You for these great stories!

The Texas Hill series can be read in any order, but as the siblings all get married it makes sense to read them the way the author planned.

Carter is the only daughter in the Hill household. Watching her brothers find love, Carter doesn’t regret her decision to leave family and love behind to pursue her dream job. But it’s a lonely life, has she left it to late? Well maybe not, yummy Logan hits all those buttons. An affair might be just the thing they both need.....

Logan doesn’t need love, it makes life messy, he needs to concentrate on saving the little farmers and their rights. And Carter Hill is the right person for the job, (she is a water rights consultant) he just needs to ignore her as a woman, a fine complete package.

With the arrangement of a no-strings affair, both Logan and Carter pursue it wholeheartedly. But when Carter’s mother is taken ill things change for both of them.

I’ve read all of the previous books in this series, and loved them all.
The descriptions the author gives is great. The attention to detail is very good. The characters are funny and the flirting is funny and very light hearted.
Both characters have been hurt in the past, so I see where both Logan and Carter have issues with trust.

I’d happily recommend this book.

Landing the Lawman by Kadie Scott is a warm and timely story about the only Hill sibling that is female. A sweet hot romance from the get-go, it also pointed out early in the story the importance of available clean water, which is a global concern. The work that the Carter Hill does is important, she is not a damsel in distress sort of heroine. Logan Cortez is more the one who needs saving with his too serious approach to all of life.
This friendship to love story works on so many levels. Carter and Logan respect each other, work well together and enjoy each other’s company so when both are free and single it seemed natural for the relationship to become more. The water rights issues add to the story giving it more substance. The family issues were also interesting though Logan’s solution to caring for Carter’s mom seemed extreme for him to do. Even with that believable at risk, it is an enjoyable story that made it easy to read and difficult to put down.
An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Landing The Lawman is the 5th book in the Hills of Texas series by Kadie Scott. I have to hang my head in shame and admit that I still haven’t read the 1st book in this series although I have read books 2-5. I really must get around to reading the first book as I’d love to read Cash’s story.
In this book we get the story of the 5th Hill sibling, this time the one and only girl Carter, twin sister of Cash. Carter has recently broken off her engagement as she decided to put her career first, having spent many hard years working for her masters, then her PhD.
Carter helps in many cases for lawyer Logan Cartez and now that she’s single she’s starting to see him as more than a friend. Logan has always admired Carter but as she was engaged, kept their relationship strictly professional. Now she’s broken off her engagement what can the future hold for Carter and Logan?
Having read about her brothers, I was impatiently waiting for Carter’s story. It did not disappoint. I loved this story and was pulled in right from the first page. The interactions between Carter and Logan are so funny at times as she tries to get the stuffy lawyer to loosen up and enjoy life more. The more time he spends with her, she drags him more and more out of him comfort zone.
Will Carter be able to have the career she wants and have a relationship too? Will spending so much time with Carter make Logan realise that he has missed out on so much? I recommend that you read this fantastic book to find out. While you are there, I also recommend that you read the rest of the series too as it really is awesome.

Landing the Lawman is the fifth book in Kadie Scott’s Hills of Texas series. You can read it as a standalone but my personal preference when it comes to series is to read them in order as you will get so much more pleasure out of the reading by knowing the little bits and pieces of the background and repeat characters and …
Landing the Lawman gives the only Hill daughter – Carter Hill, the water rights consultants, and her biggest client Logan Cortez, a lawyer who has dedicated his life to helping small farms to protect their water supply! Carter has had to make some hard decisions in her life – needing to choose between the man she loves or following her dreams … she knows that following her dreams she would make a difference and being the only girl in the family of boys … anyone can imagine the pressure she has been putting on herself!
The writer gives us two people who teach each other about what is important in life while throwing them into some heated moments … you will be cheering with Carter when she is trying to show Logan that they are the two halves of a whole and you will be crossing your toes and fingers for one satisfying ending!

Landing the Lawman (Hills of Texas #5) by Kadie Scott. I LOVED this book. Its the 5th book in the series but can be read as a standalone. Its the story of Carter Hill who chose to walk away from a good relationship because she wanted a career outside of the home. If she had married and stayed home she would be working on the ranch and being a wife and mom, she wanted that but she also wanted more. She wanted to be a Water Rights Consultant for a long time and she had worked hard to become one. Now she was working with some amazing attorneys and she felt as if she was making a difference and working with Logan Cartez one of those amazing attorney was an added bonus. She was attracted to Logan but she was afraid to cross the friendship line because she knew Logan didn't do relationships. After an amazing night together can Carter just go back to being friends? She knew all along Logan didn't want more but she doesn't want to go back to just friends. Logan is so thrown by his feeling for Carter he doesn't know what to do. Read Landing the Layman to find out if Logan can try his luck at a real relationship!

Landing the Lawman, (Hills of Texas #5) A Hills of Texas Romance, by Kadie Scott.
This is the fifth book in this series. I have read all of the books in this series so far, and I have absolutely loved every single one of them!!!
We have seen glimpses of Carter Hill throughout this series, so to finally get her story, was great!!! Carter and Logan have off the charts chemistry. Carter left her family and her fiancé because she wanted her career. Years have passed and she is seeing all of her brothers happily married with children here or on the way, and she knows that is what she wants. The only person in her sights to make this happen, is Logan……. they work extremely well together, could they possibly be more than just “friends”??
There are parts of Logan’s life that no one knows about. With him being on the Hill’s ranch, everything is coming back and he has to deal with not only his past but also his feelings towards Carter…. The only issue is: Logan doesn’t do relationships….. will things change or is heartache in the future for Logan and Carter????

Carter Hill has a Ph.D. in water rights. She now works as a consultant for farms and for a certain lawyer in town Logan Cartez who fights for the small farmer and rancher water rights against the big corporations that come in and try to take over everything. In court, the two of them working together on a case are a powerful force to take on.
Logan becomes concerned with a new case when Carter needs to go out to her family ranch because of her mother’s illness. Logan is panicked over the case he overlooks his feelings he has to her and when he knows about her feelings about him, he does the grown-up thing and runs back to town leaving her back at her parent’s ranch.
The two of them both have issues from each other’s past and must overcome those if there is going to be a future for either one of them. This is a really good story with different emotions going on. Carter surveys water for lawyer Logan's cases to see who is stealing water from their neighbors. Carter has pulled Logan out of his shell but neither sees that their feelings are turning to love. Carter teases. Logan feels jealousy when Carter hints she might go home with a sexy bartender. When her mother is hurt prior to a big case Logan needs Carter's help with, Logan decides to go to Carter's family's ranch to help with her mother so Carter can do the survey he needs. While there feelings come out and it becomes a delicate dance. Will they survive? Will Logan let go of his past to give them a future?

I enjoyed this story. I liked Carter and Logan. I liked that Carter was able to get Logan to talk of his past. It shed a lot of light on why Logan was so reserved. I also liked that Carter opened up about her broken engagement so Logan could understand why Carter was so independent. The two of them were good together. I appreciated her family getting involved in their romance. I look forward to reading the earlier books in the series.

Landing the Lawman, is the final story in Kadie Scott’s Hills Of Texas series and it’s been a pleasure to read. This story features two strong, clever, opinionated stars. Longstanding friends Carter Hill, hydrologist and water management expert, and hotshot lawyer Logan Cartez are both at the top of their game professionally. They work well together., they respect each other and they enjoy each other’s company though dating is something they’ve never considered, no matter how strong the attraction between them. It was fun watching these two falling into each other’s arms, at first as a one-night stand and later because they just couldn’t help themselves. It was also entertaining watching them slowly discover that their relationship was way out of the friend zone no matter how much of a challenge that might be. This story is fast paced, sexy and yet filled with core values such as trust and not giving up on the things and people that matter to you. I loved it.

Landing the Lawman is the fifth book in the Hills of Texas series from Kadie Scott. If you’d like to start here and haven't read the others that should still be possible as there is enough background info that carries through all of the novels.

In this one we get the story of the only Hill daughter, Carter, and the handsome lawyer Logan. Carter would like to find the one one day but in the meantime as she recovers from a heartbreak she swears to focus on the career that ignites her passion in other ways. She meets and works with Logan and eventually the two begin to feel a tad more than friendly feelings between them. Will the twists and turns (there are several good ones) be detrimental to these two ever getting a chance at love with each other? I enjoyed this and thought it was a light hearted quick read, perfect for a Monday morning! I look forward to seeing what we will get next from Kadie Scott.

Landing the Lawman (The Hills of Texas Book 5) by Kadie Scott. Ok I feel like I’ve said this a time or two with this series but hey I really mean it this time! This one was my absolute favorite out of all this series. Don’t get me wrong they are all amazing but this one spoke to me differently and honestly I can’t put into words why but it did. Carter and Logan completely captured my heart from page on of this book. Each of them pulled me so deeply into their story that I didn’t and couldn’t put it down. You can read these in any order but I do highly recommend them all because they all stand to give you everything you’d want in a story. These characters just had a connection I could feel deeply. They worked well together and had me completely hooked start to finish. It’s a well thought out storyline and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I highly recommend this book, series and author. Five stars all the way!

This series is an absolute delight! Up until this point we’ve only seen the romances of the Hill family boys, most of whom are sexy as sin alpha cowboys. Well, after four full-length novels featuring the Hill men, we’re finally privy to the one Hill daughter falling in love with a dashing lawyer. It feels like I’ve been waiting for Carter’s story since book one, and I’m thrilled to say it doesn’t disappoint. I might even go so far as to say that Carter and Logan’s romance is my favorite of the series! It’s definitely a tough call to make, but these two draw you in from opening bell and simply don’t let go. The fact we also get to see glimpses of Carter’s protective brothers, not to mention their entertaining wives, who we’ve come to know and love throughout the series is a glorious bonus.

Landing the Lawman (The Hills of Texas Book 5) by Kadie Scott is another enticing story in the series. It is a sweet and funny tale that is sexy and endearing characters that you can’t help but fall in love. Each book has been about all the siblings and has focused on the sons but this story is about the only daughter, Carter. Kadie is a must read author.

Carter is sassy and strong, opinionated and definitely not shy. She knows what she wants and isn’t ashamed to go after it but there is one man who she finally realises she loves but he is not a relationship man.

Logan is a workaholic and does not do relationships with woman and not so much with people in general. But there is one temptation that is slowly getting under his skin.

I highly recommend grabbing a copy and enjoying the ride.

Loved this book of friends to lovers with plenty of romance. Carter is married to her job, a water rights consultant. She has always been content with her life, until her brothers are all married and starting their families. Logan, also is a married to his job, a lawyer who protects ranches. He doesn't want people to loose their property like his family. Logan and Carter are friends, that believe one night of passion will be enough, but soon find out that it is not enough.

This story is full of passion and amusing banter between Carter and Logan, many laugh out moments. Love the Hill family, always willing to help each other. Carter's dad had such words of wisdom, "the love you feel for him worth taking that risk".

This is the fifth story in the series but can be read as a stand alone. I highly recommend.
