Rate this book
Vivian Alexander- Hollywood’s Oscar-winning actress extraordinaire was “coerced” into coming to the Helping Heroes Ball by her manager, to make an appearance and save face after the interview that embarrassed her far more than she cares to admit. After all, she’s good at hiding her true feelings behind the radiant smile that’s made her famous. Well, she came, she saw, she made her appearance. Now it’s time for a quick and inconspicuous exit…until she sees a familiar face she never imagined she would.

Buck Jenkins- Retired football player/gridiron legend/playboy comes to the ball; for it’s a good cause, and being as he’s not too far from Dallas and all he really can’t pass up the opportunity—not when he’s been MIA from the limelight as long as he has now. It’s a good excuse to get out of town anyway, for a much-needed break from the grievous chaos ensuing his life at the moment. But he didn’t see the bombshell blonde starlet coming until she was directly in front of him. Now, his night just made a surprising turn for the best.

One unexpected night...

Two unsuspecting hearts...

Their paths inescapably intertwine and neither will come out unscathed .

Book 4 in the Abundance series follows the story of a one-night stand that becomes so much more for two broken-hearted lovers. Get swept up and head back to Abundance, Texas once more as Buck and Vivian take your soul on a journey through heartbreak, tragedy, new beginnings, and perseverance. You’ll be laughing, crying, and swooning for these two “stars” in Stars over Abundance.

This fourth book in my series was completely unexpected but began as an impromptu scene in Book 3...and once that scene it was written, I knew I had yet another book to write. (This book is simultaneous with book 3)

Famous actress Vivian Alexander is thirty-five years old and her biological clock has started to tick...and it's even louder now that she's been called out my one of prime time TV's top talk show hosts...

Forty-one year old former defensive end, Buck Jenkins has retired, but is facing one of life's hardest battles now that he's off the gridiron...

These two lovers clash together one night at a charity ball, but little do they know what fate has in store for them.

Viv is dedicated and sassy, Buck is big and swoony, and there are also some loose ends tied up in this one too ;-)

If you are a fan of unanticipated love, perseverance, a little heart-break, and big laughs then head on back to Abundance once more as Viv and Buck sweep you off your feet.

Mega movie star Vivian Alexander has everything a person could want—career success, awards galore, and movie roles with men most women can only dream about. She’s beginning to wonder if this is all there is and feels a longing for something more in her heart. She’s about to meet the man of her dreams, but is he? Retired football star Buck Jenkins sweeps her off her feet in the Ponderosa Ballroom, leading to a night of steamy passion. A family tragedy intervenes and takes him away without speaking a word to her. She’s hurt and bitter at being another Buck Jenkins conquest.

Months later, back in Abundance, Nat and Jack Kinsen invite a few of their close friends and family over for dinner, leading to Buck and Viv meeting once again. Buck longs to tell her the reason why he left that magical night, but it’s clear Viv does not want to talk with him! Their friends and family know these two have feelings for one another, but can they convince them in time before life, career and other interests convene, taking away their chance to have a life together?

Stars over Abundance is the latest in the series by Author Shanna Swenson that I have come to love. I feel like I’m at home now in Abundance, getting to be around the characters I’ve gotten to know about in the other books. This a is another heartwarming (and steamy!) story in the series and a great read, highly recommended!

Oh Buck, how I swoon for you. He has always been the big grizzly bear with a heart of gold in the Abundance series. It was wonderful to learn more about him, Vivian as well. This was by far the steamiest book in the series, which isn’t surprising since Buck & Viv have a chemistry so hot that it could start a wildfire. I also liked that each character is well established in their career and older (not in their 20s that is). The timeline in this book runs parallel to that of book 3. It was great to get a little more perspective on the other characters during that time (especially my favorites, Nate & Jordan!). Other than main character I have no idea where book 5 will take us, but I’m definitely excited to read it and love this series!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks to the author for a copy, I won this on a giveaway. I would read this series in order since this book has chapters from various people in the town, not just the main two. Some of them stem from previous books. Abundance is a town and it feels aptly named. Buck and Vivian meet at a charity event.... chemistry hits and rocks their world in more ways than one.

What did I like? Buck and Vivian have mutual friends but happen to actually meet at a charity. I loved the chemistry they had but the way they parted threw me. There are several facets to the story but this was my first in the series so I was blinded by some of the chapters. Once Buck and Vivian meet again, the book really takes off and I really enjoyed the home stretch.

Would I recommend or buy? If you’ve read the others than I’m sure this will be great for you, but for others just jumping in, I’d suggest reading them in order. It was a beautiful story, and I highly enjoyed the ending.

Thoughts for the author? Congratulations on your new release! Thanks so much for the giveaway that landed me a copy. I would definitely read from you again.

This is the fourth novel in the Abundance Series by Shanna Swenson. And, I'm happy to report that it does NOT disappoint. I can proudly say she wrote another great story! Throughout the series, I noticed her writing grew exponentially better with each release (not that her writing is bad). As the novel hasn't been released yet, I will not give too much away. What I will say is the characters are strong, powerful individuals with powerful backgrounds. The pace is well written. I was fully immersed in this one. If you have read any of her novels already then pick this one up as well when it's released. Trust me...you'll feel Abundant. ;)

The Stars Align Over Abundance

I'm a fan of this entire series, and I jumped at the chance to revisit this beautiful small town deep in the heart of Texas. As with the other Abundance novels, we get to reconnect with the Kinsen-Butler clan - always a treat. But now, for the first time, we get a love story where both leads are outside of the central clan - a big change, but a new way to view Abundance.

Vivian Alexander is an unforgettable character, first met in Book One when she visits the ranch to learn horseback riding. She's a glamorous movie star, Oscar winner, and a strong woman shamed by the media for still being single and childless - as if that's a crime, but it remains a common issue women face. And we learn that, despite appearances, Vivian hasn't had an easy climb to the top even if she seems happy and fulfilled.

Buck Jenkins, also from Book One, is one of Natalie's oldest friends. Former lover of the sassy Jordan from Book Two and legendary NFL star, he is also getting older - still unmarried and childless, but free of the judgment Vivian receives, a nod by our author to the double standards lingering in our society. Buck is struggling with an painful, but sadly relatable, problem - his beloved mother is dying, and it's tearing him apart.

At a charity ball, these two stars collide - and believe me, the sparks fly early. I'm a fan of this type of romance, so relevant in the modern era where maybe sex is easy but its the intimacy that sets huge obstacles for the characters to overcome. In many scenarios, this challenge crushes a budding relationship if the couple is unable to open their most hidden souls to each other. The tension from this conflict is palpable!

Meanwhile, we also visit with our beloved Kinsen-Butlers. We reconnect with secondary characters and fan favorites from Book One who finally find love after years of loneliness. The loose ends are being tied up, and our favorite sidekicks are finding their happy ending - yay!

Vivian and Buck are a delight, very human and easy to relate to despite their star statuses. Steamy, tender, honest - this couple makes their mark showing us the challenges faced by people in their prime trying to welcome a partner into their settled lives. They are experienced but vulnerable, proud but lonely, and their journey is one to treasure.

Also, I loved the sneak peek at Book Five with Savannah. It was a shock, hooking me already, and I can't wait to see what happens next. Stay tuned for more Abundance - I know I will!💖😍

Hollywood Meets Small Town…
… in our beloved Abundance, Texas. I just love the story world the author has created with this series. In these Contemporary Western romances, Swenson delivers each time on the hunky cowboys, hot romance and engaging storylines and Stars Over Abundance is no different.
Buck and Vivian’s story is the steamiest of the series so far so buckle up! Lol. We met these two in book one as sideline characters so I thought it was really fun to see them have their own story and get to know the town of Abundance from their perspective. These two uber celebrities bring a different flair to the series, but the author did a great job of making them relatable and working them into the Kinsen / Butler bunch.
Even with all their fame and success, Buck and Vivian realize that their glamour-filled lives have been missing something. One hot night and Swenson’s welcoming, small town help them find just what they’re looking for.
I’m really enjoying this series so far and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

What happens when two attractive, lonely stars meet at a charity ball and make sparks fly? Drama ensues, southern romance blossoms, and new paths are discovered. This is the fourth installment of Shanna Swenson’s Abundance series, and as usual, characters from previous books are still in play in this starry sequel.

Vivian Alexander, movie starlet extraordinaire, has been called gorgeous, famous... and single. Despite a lifetime of fame, she’s starting to feel the clock ticking on creating a family. And just when she thinks her prayers won’t be answered, in walks Bobby “Buck” Jenkins, former pro football player. Buck, however, is battling his own problems, and his actions that night set the course for a turbulent and emotional story.

The two lean on each their during times of love and loss, and the friends they share in common - basically all of the previous Abundance crew! - push them together slowly as Buck and Vivian work through the results of their actions at the charity ball.

A reader can’t go wrong with any of Shanna Swenson’s Abundance books. What I love about each of these books so far is that they delve wholly into issues that many couples face - or may face in the future. Of course, the inciting incidents are usually fraught with danger or drama, but the way that each couple resolves their issues are relatable and honest. Buck and Vivian deal with loss, unexpected surprises, and career drama - all of which us everyday people experience. Shanna does a great job following both of their thoughts through first person points of view, exploring the emotions and consequences of every action they take. And, of course, all the romantic moments too!

It’s also fun how every previous couple introduced in the series stays around. Yes, many are related and live in the same area, but they all make significant appearances in Stars over Abundance to further the plot and hint at more to come in the next book.

All in all, another great installment in the Abundance series!

I love getting the chance to go back to my favorite little town of Abundance, TX!
They have all my favorite cowboys and cowgirls. But now they got some pretty big stars going back there too!

I was so happy to see Vivian getting her own full length story. Happy to get more about her and her past and life in Hollywood. I loved seeing a different side to her as well. How she was with Jack and Natalie’s (book 1 main characters) kids just warmed my heart and broke it at the same time.

Now Buck, that man just melted me. He was a lot sweeter than I thought he was gonna be and it made me smile and love him even more than I already did. To see how him and Vivian got together and to see their relationship was so different but awesome at the same time.

I really also love how Shanna gives you other character POV that are not the main ones. It is something I don’t read often in other books but such a cool chance and to get other POV’s is really neat. Helps build the story a little better too.

As always I loved everything about this book and everything Shanna writes in this Abundance series!

💯 recommend!

Book four in the Abundance saga and Shanna Swenson did NOT disappoint. Having met Vivian and Buck in the previous book, I was very excited to see how their story would play out and hoped to see a happy ending for them both. After officially meeting at a gala, Buck leaves Vivian with more questions than answers as to how he could leave her after such a fantastic connection. Fate has other ideas for these two celebrities and makes sure their paths continue to cross and open their hearts to the possibilities before them. Shanna has a way of telling a story from multiple points of view, allowing you to truly get to know her characters and see them from many different perspectives while never losing the flow or over telling a story. I have read everything Shanna has published, and I have to say...Stars over Abundance is my favorite! Buck is as swoony as they come from his cowboy hat to his dirty mouth, and finishing with his love for his family. Vivian is sassy, independent, and so down to earth, you forget she's an Oscar-winning actress! I can't recommend this, and all the books in the Abundance series enough! I can't wait for the next book in this series!
