Let me start by saying this book has a lot of annoying editing errors, especially missing and extraneous words. When I finished it and read the Acknowledgements Vicusi thanks his editor, Adam Korn, for moving 1Ctriple time to speed this book to publication. 1D That explains it. But don 19t let the shabby editing distract from the value of this book. Whiile mostly common sense, it is a methodical explanation of all the things you should be doing to shine at work. Much is mundane but his writing style and the frequent sidebars make it enjoyable to read. He has an irreverent sense of humor and injects just enough profanity to keep things rolling along. Cool cover design too.

While I didn't learn anything new in this book, it was nice to get a refresher. Some tips included keeping your network fresh, enhancing your skills, and looking for opportunities to speak/write in your field of expertise.

This was a book to skim--but I read through the really important points. I liked the suggestions about giving presentations and dressing for success.

I bought this book some time ago and only recently started to read it. It's full of tips that are useful in working in the business environment, not only if you want to keep your job. It feels like Viscusi is a father or mentor talking to you, giving his wise advise. The examples are nice, although I sometimes wondered if they were real or made up.

Quick read. Author's style is rather blunt and obnoxious at points but I guess he was trying to convey a sense of urgency to keep one's job during these troublesome times. Overall a good read.

This is a "hold no punches" advice book for being the very best employee possible, at least in terms of improving your chances of keeping your current job. No excuses.... work hard, behave yourself.
