This is a powerful little book worth keeping in your purse as just a small reminder that God wants to hear about all areas of our lives. I particularly liked the beginning part about worship.

Firstly I love this title “Keys to Powerful Prayer.
This is a basic guide, a handbook introducing the Christian to the place they need to be before the Lord in prayer. It doesn’t so much reduce prayer to a mechanical function so much as an extension of what being a Christian means. Heavily backed up by scripture this is a book that will change everyone’s time in prayer from mere words to a conversation based upon you as a person and God through his word/promises.
So the author focuses on different elements on prayer; all valid and perhaps all needed in one’s approach to deepen your prayer life. However there is no thought that you need to remember each; begin where you are most comfortable. Remember it is a two way meeting, so ask God to reveal areas to focus on. I believe this is a comprehensive list and should cover most intercessions and time in prayer.
There are examples in each section on what areas we may bring before the Lord. A simple set of prayers to use and expound upon; fill in the gaps to make it a personal petition. Then as mentioned there are scriptures that share and reinforce the need and benefits of prayer with the promises it brings.
If you work through this book you will be blessed and your prayer times will be more fulfilled since it is like any good manual. It covers the specifics and reinforces these like learning any new skill. It brings the reason to the fore, the method and the benefits. While giving direct encouragement and practical feedback.
I was impressed by the elements of worship, confession and requests both for others, our relationships and personal needs.
This book has the power to enlarge one’s faith and encourage us to see God’s hand on our lives. It is simple in it’s approach and message. There is nothing too complicated or above any of our experiences. God wants us to have a relationship with him in prayer, to ask Give us this day our daily bread and see his influence on our lives, Thy will be done.
May those who read this book be equally blessed.

This was a short but powerful guide to effective daily prayer life. Even though I know about praying for anything and everyone, the way the author presented the areas of prayer focus, together with the detailed examples, example prayer and scripture references, this is a guide I will definitely review regularly and also recommend to new Christians or Christians who feel they stagnated in their prayer life.
Actually, I think this guide is something every Christian could have.

Keys to Powerful Prayer by Stormie Omartian offers a practical and short guide for people who want to pray intentionally. Omartian covers eight major areas of prayer focus giving pray-ers jumping off points for well-balanced prayers---topics like worshiping and praising God, putting Him in charge of your day, submitting your whole self to God, telling Him the desires of your heart, and praying for people in your life. This pocket prayer guide promises to be a great help to those wanting to deepen their prayer lives and keep things from growing stale. It's one I plan to keep in my prayer basket and make use of often.

After starting her book "Keys to Powerful Prayer" (published by Harvest House Publishers) with an introduction titled "Answers to your Questions before you even ask" best-selling author Stormie Omartian presents eight areas of Prayer Focus with titles such as "Worship and Praise God for Who He Is", "Submit Your Body, Heart, and Mind to God", or "Tell God the Desires of your Heart". Omartian arranged the book in such a way that every paragraph in the eight areas is a complete thought. Readers can choose a paragraph or section anywhere and let that inspire their prayers. At the end of each prayer focus she has provided a sample prayer (Prayer Power). This prayer can be a beginning point for readers to jumpstart their own prayers or it can be a prayer by itself. Furthermore, there are Scriptures (Word Power) at the end of each focus "that can be read over, proclaimed, spoken aloud, memorized, pondered, meditated on, or simply kept" in the heart of the readers if they have the time or the motivation. The goal of these Scriptures is to be encouraging, uplifting, and edifying.
Although I have heard about Stormie Omartian previously, I think this is the first book which I read by her. I have appreciated her approach to prayer and highly recommend the book since it is a great tool for everybody who wants to learn more about prayer or get more serious in their prayer life. Furthermore, this book also makes a good present for others.

We are guided to be the most effective in this helpful book. This book can be used daily for any Christian, pastor, counselor for their prayer life. Stormie Omartian has written many best selling books on prayer. She is also an international speaker. She has a website called Omartian.net. She addresses different prayer needs in her books like: The Power of the Praying Wife, The Power of the Praying Parent, The Power of Praying for Your Adult Children. I enjoyed The Power of a Praying Wife and The Power of a Praying Woman. If you liked either of those, you will like Keys to Powerful Prayer. Keys to Powerful Prayer was covered more topics of prayer and would be great for anyone.
Stormie does a great job of directing your prayer life. This is a great resource book to keep in your car when you have just a few minutes to read waiting for your kids or at an appointment. This was a very motivational and inspiring book.

All do this book is a booklet, it has condensed and powerful information about prayer. Stormie Omartian take 8 keys prayers and give us different recommendations on how we can use them in our daily life, it also has great Bible verse. With clear and understandable information. This book is a great choice for everyone that wants to deeper her/his relationship with God through prayer.

An excellent, short resource for everyone, but particularly geared toward the person struggling with prayer, be it they have no words or they feel overwhelmed with everything they should pray for. Not meant to be a "formula" for results, just an idea on how to grow your prayer life.
I feel like this would be a great graduation gift from a church to their students or a study to work through for a small group.
No content issues.

This book is a great pocket book that helps lead you in the direction of a better prayer life. My favorite part was that they gave bible verses to each part that you were studying. It does a really good job explaining each topic it discusses in this book in a short amount of time.

Keys to Powerful Prayer is a good resource giving some simple guidance on applying bible principles into everyday life. When circumstances knock you off balance, I see this being a good resource to have on hand to help getting you back to your center.

Great resource to get ur prayer life on track!
I love Stormie Omartian books. She is straight to the point, supports everything with the Word of God, and gives you practical steps on how to achieve the goal by using the Word of God. This is a definite must read, and a wonderful gift for someone that would like to build a better, Prayer Life.

Filled with beautiful truths about prayer, it's purpose and it's effect on us! I love Stormie's 8 aspects of prayer that she focuses in on in this little booklet, already it has been a blessing to me and I plan to reference it frequently going forward!
The main thing a lot of this comes back to: I need Jesus to be Lord over my whole life.

Nice prayer starters with scripture with lists of why we should pray certain things according to scripture. Lots of little details to meditate on during your prayer time. Small size makes it easy to take with you. This would make a nice little gift.

Stormie Omartian is one of my favorites and she doesn't disappoint in this pocket full of punch on prayer! Prayer Focus 8 was my fav! "It's your job to pray, and its's God's job to answer."

Keys to Powerful Prayer is a Christian living book by author Stormie Omartian.
I understand this book to be about advising the reader on how to pray. Did it meet my expectations? No, there were several grammatical errors and I thought the book would focus more on how others pray. Instead, the book tells the reader how to pray with prayers written out. The plus in the book is the scripture references. The grammatical errors made it too confusing to read. Examples are: un-expected instead of unexpected and no spacing between several words (toyou instead of to you).
I conclude that this book needs re-editing, and not sold as-is. I read it as an ebook so the format may be different in print. However, I would not recommend it, which is unfortunate because she is a well-known author.
