This is a good clean book that can be read by young and older readers alike. The story is great and I highly recommend it.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I like the fact that it was written from more than one point of view including the young child. That was pretty neat. I also like the fact that it was written from a Christian point of view with no profanity violence or sexual scenes. That is one of the reasons I chose it other than the fact that I like apocalyptic books that are fast-paced ...more

I started to enjoy it
Ms. Copper has a nice writing style and she takes the time to proofread, which is nice. Her characters are believable-and even likable. My problem (and it may be just my problem) it's that at 20% in they're still shopping. Seriously. Maybe this is what it's like for rich people to prepare, but I could not relate to or continue to read about the thousands spent days in a row to beef up stocks they already had rooms full of 🤷♀️ ...more

Incredible!
This is a remarkable book. Worth reading and makes you think with the mess our nation is in. Great characters, lots of action! I have now read the entire series and every no is incredible. And I want to say to the people who say there is too much to God in these books - if these things were to really happen which is possible, you will find yourself crying out to the very God you now think is not real!

Loved, Loved , Loved the book! Now on book 2 and can't wait to find out what happens next. I like the idea to look at each daughter and what they are going thru to get to the parents homestead and then to find out if Mom ever made it back home.

I love Caldwell's Homestead. So interesting. I read a lot in the post apocalyptic genre . I am learning and adding to my prepper ideas list. I can't wait for the next book. I will be grabbing in the first moment I can.

This apocalyptic novel has a great storyline but needs an editor to trim some of the wordiness. There are so many characters in play it’s difficult to keep up with them. I especially am interested in the Caldwell family but Dan definitely has my attention. He may be big trouble later in the series. I like that there is no cursing and there is a couple of prayers. I know praying would be my top priority in a similar situation.

Fair
Positive: The writing is good for this type (ebook) of author; grammar, plot and character development all better than average.
Negative: This is not a book. Its a group of chapters. Books have a beginning, a plot and a conclusion. This simply stops with no conclusion or even a cliffhanger. Kinda sick of it. It also moves all loose we.

Mostly a guide
There was not much of a story in this book. If you want a good manual on preparing for disaster you might like this. The characters were very shallow . The writing was almost a list of to dos. I don't recommend this book for entertainment reading. ...more

Very good premise, honest simple people with character on the worst days of their lives. One week in the American Apocalypse. Not just one, but multiple adventures, trials, and tribulations.
The Author has some dialogue and First-Person perspective issues, but this is a very strong start to a good series, well worth your time.
