Guardian angel Greylyn saves innocent humans from their own inner demons or the more nefarious real ones. She’s overdue for some rest and relaxation, but upon finding her archenemy already entrenched at an authentic Irish bed and breakfast, she knows her vacation is over before it ever starts.
Enemies for over four centuries, Greylyn has fought the dark guardian, Kael; and fought her desire for him. This time, however, she must work with the dashing dark guardian to protect innocent lives. It’s a deadly gamble. One she has no choice but to take.

But the situation is far more treacherous than she realizes as a notorious fallen archangel holds the lives of a mother and her unborn child over Greylyn’s head to force her to consummate a dormant, but deadly prophecy. One so deadly that Heaven didn’t even write it down.

Rekindled Prophecy: Greylyn the Guardian Angel is a contemporary fantasy novel with strong undertones of romance and sex appeal between two enemies – one working for Heaven, the other working for Hell.

KC writes mostly urban fantasy and paranormal romance novels. She is partial to angels and showing that even the heavenly can be exciting.

When she is not writing, KC is sitting in her car waiting for her daughter to finish swim practice or waiting in the stands for her daughter to swim. Occasionally, she makes it to her sons' wrestling meets too.

In her spare time…who are we kidding? She doesn’t have any of that.

Greylyn, a guardian angel, helps protect innocent humans from demons over the centuries while battling Kael, a dark guardian. She helps a pregnant woman and her unborn child and deals with a prophecy. She gets help from Kael.

I liked this book and the way it skipped over the centuries while showing Greylyn and Kael's relationship. I enjoyed the two protagonists and enjoyed seeing them work together.

Interested to see what happens next in the series.

I received an ARC copy of this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I loved the story. A dark good looking demon stalks a guardian angle through time. What could be better? Greylyn's past is a mystery. Her duties fighting vampires and demons keep her busy, but at a bed and breakfast, Greylyn comes face to face with the one dark demon she just can't get out of her head. Wonderful.

I was able to find this book on BookSirens, and I managed to get a copy for free, in exchange for an honest review. I read the synopsis and thought that this book is straight-up my ally. I love angel books that focus on good and evil, and the thin boundary between the two, so I was very excited to get started with this book. I liked it so much that I devoured the story.

Greylyn is a guardian angel who saves innocent humans from their inner demons or the influence of the evil around them. She tries to take some time off duty to relax and recharge her batteries, but when she arrives at the B&B, she finds Kael there. He was her archenemy and a dark guardian who was already entrenched at the authentic Irish bed and breakfast. At that moment, she knows her vacation is over before it ever started. In a deadly gamble that Greylyn can’t avoid, she ends up working with Kael to protect innocent lives. However, there is still much they don’t know about the situation they are in. They are in over their heads, as a notorious fallen archangel holds the lives of a mother and her unborn child over Greylyn’s head. A dormant prophecy, so deadly that Heaven didn’t even write down.

Events take place chronologically, and the reader can see everything as it happens. The story was consistent, with big intrigue moments sprinkled here and there, making the pacing of the book fast. The main intrigue was around an old prophecy and Kelly’s pregnancy. In the beginning, the story-line reminded me of White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout, but I could also see a lot of differences. I substantially enjoyed Greylin and Kael’s banter, although they were enemies. The action skips through centuries to depict their relationship and how Kael has always kept an eye on Greylin. This and their behaviour towards one another make the reader anticipate the love story between the two. In my opinion, their relationship, although they’ve been physically close to one another, was a slow burn.

Greylyn is the main female character. She was reborn to serve for good, to save people from evil and themselves. Her teacher was another guardian angel, Jasper Moreau, of french origin. He is a handsome man, with many qualities, and he is an important figure in Greylyn’s life as an angel. Although he finds Greylyn attractive and would like to be more than just her partner, she wants to keep their relationship strictly professional. Kael is the male protagonist, a dark guardian. He and Greylyn have undeniable chemistry from the moment they first meet. Even though they are mortal enemies, and them fighting constantly over the centuries, they never make to the ultimate act of killing the other. Moreover, Kael even saves Greylyn’s life quite a few times. While the story unfolds, we discover that their attraction might not be just a coincidence, but the result of something greater. Kael seems to know more about the situation he and Greylyn end up in while protecting Kelly and her unborn. However, his knowledge is still limited. Their relationship is interesting to watch as it develops, although at times it is not the best. Greylin is looking weak and confused. She can’t understand the part of Kael that wants to help her and she is losing her head around him. For me, that wasn’t a problem and it didn’t affect my enjoyment. All characters of the book were round, dynamic, well developed, interesting and one could easily tell they are part of a novel and even more, of a series.

The atmosphere and scenery were quite diverse. From New York to the Shenandoah Mountains in Ireland to a different century in Paris, this book had it all! It was whimsical, and it grabbed my attention. I couldn’t wait to find out more, to read more, to imagine more about the landscapes and characters. I think this is one of those stories you keep in your head a while after you read it. One of those stories you still dream about at night just because you didn’t get to the end. To me, the atmosphere was just pure perfection. The author knew how to add to the story through description: making it more dramatic, more sensible, scarier. I had that great feeling of reading a mystery and having to put clues together to figure out what big event would come up next. Some of them were obvious, some of them were impossible to guess, but it added to the charm of this book.

I liked the writing, although it’s not the easiest to read. As a non-native English speaker, I found some words I didn’t know the meaning of, but I liked that the reading this book was also an opportunity to learn. Keep in mind that this book might not be the best for someone who struggles with understanding English, but for people who already have more than basic knowledge.

I can’t wait to read more from this author, and especially from this series. The overall enjoyment I had while reading Rekindled Prophecy was above the average of this year, and with everything else, resulting in a good rating. I would recommend this book to the younger readers, as I think they would find it more appealing. However, I wouldn’t encourage anyone under the age of 14 to read this book, as it has remarks regarding sexual content. Be aware that the story tackles miscarriage, which is sensitive content.

This is a wonderful piece

Greylyn is a guardian angel, Kael is a dark guardian angel; while Greylyn fights to protect humans from seen and unseen evil in the world, Kael feast on them. The two are now charged with guiding a woman and her unborn child, can they work together? Can they trust each other?
Greylyn finds herself up against not only a dark guardian but also a fallen archangel with a prophecy to fulfil, a prophecy the Angels are against, same as Lucifer.

The pull between Greylyn and Kael is strong and beautiful, will they let go of their hatred and build a relationship? and what about Jasper, Greylyn's Mentor, the one person who's constant in her life, how would he react to a common enemy dating her?

It's a very interesting and captivating book, romance is top notch, waiting eagerly for the Revelation

Thanks to booktaster for this wonderful piece and also to the writer for delivering a master piece.

A rather enjoyable read which I completed over two wet and windy evenings. I must admit I am eager to read book 2 where I am hoping the current questions buzzing around my head about various characters - well lets be honest three of them - just might be explained.

The biggest issue for me is, having made her agreement and with whom how come no one else senses it!

A paranormal romance full of adventure, mystery, and love.

Greylyn is a guardian angel spending her days saving human lives and souls. Yet, even Guardian angels need a break and after 450 years of daily duty, all Greylyn wants is a little rest. But evil never takes a break and Greylyn’s vacation is over before it starts.

Kael, Hell’s most lethal weapon and steady thorn in Greylyn's side, awaits her at the cozy bed and breakfast nestled in the Shenandoah Mountains where she was planning on winding down for a few days. The two have battled each other for centuries, but somehow, neither had dealt the death blow. What's more, Greylyn can't help the attraction she feels towards the dark creature; an addictive spellbinding attraction that seems to affect both her body and soul; an attraction she neither wants, nor understands.

When a young bride in peril lures them both into the clutches of a notorious fallen archangel and innocent lives hang in the balance, a reluctant and unlikely alliance binds the two eternal enemies together in a quest to unravel a prophecy so deadly that Heaven refused to write it down.

Overall, Rekindled Prophecy is a very entertaining beautifully written book. It has a great mystery, a solid plot, a good number of great fight scenes, just enough gore and action, as well as a nice touch of sass and spunk.
The push and pull between Greylyn and Kael was very nicely done and I loved their interactions.
However, I couldn't really connect with, or root for either of them.

Kael, somewhat grew on me by the end of the book when I could really get a real good insight into his tortured soul and feelings. There were clues dropped on the way but the big reveal came a tad late for me to fully connect.
And I'll definitely read the next book in series because of him. To see what happens next. :D

Greylyn on the other hand, remained a bit of a conundrum even at the very end. She's supposed to be a badass powerful angel guardian and yet she ends up in need of being rescued most of the time. Either someone or another swoops in to save her, or her charge, because she either gets beaten to a pulp or gets distracted and fails in her mission. That fact alone took her down a notch or two in my book because not only does it contradict the idea of 'last-of-your-kind trained to fight badass guardian angel' but also made her look a touch whiny - the small little damsel-in-distress kind.

For me the best characters are those that are balanced. I love them in nice shades of grey from emotional make-up to strength and everything else. It is only then, that they call to me and I can connect. And the balance is not quite right as far as Greylyn's concerned.

From strength and powers to fragility, there were quite a few contradictions that I couldn't get passed. As far as both Greylyn and others are concerned.
In the fight scenes for example. At one time we have her taking punch after punch and blow after blow with pain exploding as bones and tendons cracked and her world turned crimson; then opening her eyes and clearly seeing the expression in her attacker's eyes; slowly pushing herself up on shaking arms and the next moment jumping up and running over to her mentor Jasper.
Angelic healing is what I suspected, and I'm cool with that! Except that, in another fight scene, we have her headbutting a demon possessed human with all her might then literally crawling to her attacker since she's blinded by pain and blood.

For someone who digs great fight scenes and reads paying attention to details, these little things were a bit off-putting and cut down from the charm of the tale.

All in all, Rekindled Prophecy is a good and entertaining PNR with a great premise, a solid mystery and a love story that promises to be epic in the volumes to come. It does leave a lot of questions unanswered but also offers a hint that answers and explanations will come.

I for one will be reading the rest of the series and definitely recommend it to anyone in search of an entertaining PNR.

I received this book from LibraryThing in exchange for a review here and on my blog Samwise Reviews. Overall it was good, but not my cup of tea. The characters had a lot of potential, but the chemistry between Greylen and Kael seemed forced and I didn't like how weak and almost useless it made Greylen. It was just a bit much. Plot wise I found 75% of it to be moderately paced, then the ending ramped up and I'm still not sure what's going on with her and the Archangel. I assume the next book will answer all the questions about her past, the necklace, and the prophecy.

I received a free copy of Rekindled Prophecy by KC Freeman from Booktasters in exchange for my honest review.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. While the background of good vs evil is pretty much everywhere the author did a wonderful job of setting this story apart from others. The FMC, Greylyn, is a guardian angel. One who can't seem to remember her human life, which definitely plays a role and which I hope will be touched on in the following book(s). She is sent out to help people get through whatever crisis they are dealing with, yet she gets more than she bargained for with protecting Kelly, her unborn child and soon to be husband. Greylyn is thrown together with Kael, who happens to be a dark angel, her complete opposite. One whom she has had several confrontations with over the centuries.
The back and forth between these two is expertly written. You can feel the tension, sexual and otherwise, in every interaction. The writer did an excellent job portraying their differences. And their similarities.
Greylyn has to make some tough choices throughout the story and these are sometimes made harder for her by her other 'main' relationship with Jasper, her guardian angel mentor turned best friend.

I was left with a few questions at the end that would be great to have answered in the following books. Most important for me, I think, would be knowing a little more about Greylyn's and Jaspers last relationship would be extremely helpful. Since we know there will be more to this story I sincerely hope we will hear more from Kael, his past and present situations weren't always clear.

Overall this is a great read and I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes paranormal and/or good vs. evil stories.

Greylyn is a guardian angel, Kael is a dark guardian angel — it seems fate has put them on opposite sides, but is there more written in their destiny? Greylyn fights to protect her charges, keeping them safe from the darker world. She also fights to control her increasing pull towards Kael. Can opposite sides work together? For hundreds of year he’s been working against her, fighting against her, but through it all they continue to gravitate towards one another. When Greylyn finds herself up against not only a dark guardian but a fallen archangel, she must make a deal with the devil (or something like that) in order to protect a woman and her unborn child. This particular archangel wants her to fulfill a prophecy that she doesn’t understand. If both heaven and hell want this prophecy stopped, what could it mean?

I throughly enjoyed this book. The push and pull between Kael and Greylyn was just wonderful! You might just find yourself wishing that not all dark angels are bad! This book does leave us wondering, but in the very best way! The plot was well constructed and we know just enough about the characters to understand them and continue asking questions. I cannot wait until the next book in the series is out, I need more Kael and Greylyn in my life!

A guardian angel and a dark guardian with unexplained chemistry that they try to fight, or rather that the guardian angel, Greylyn, tries to fight? This was definitely my kinda book. I really enjoyed it although it left a lot of things unanswered like, what’s with the necklace? What is the history between Greylyn and Kael? Which I suspect predates them becoming their current selves. What does the prophecy entail? And what’s the deal with Jasper and Kael? So many questions which I hope get answered in the sequel. I was also hoping that Greylyn and Kael’s relationship developed a little more than it did. I enjoyed the suspense of it all but thought it a bit slow so I hope we get all the juicy details in the next book. I loved all the characters. Maureen was such a darling and Kelly and Matthew was the most adorable couple ever! I was so worried something bad would happen to them. If you love books about angels with a touch of romance then this is for you.

Greylyn's story is intriguing. As is her relationship with Kael. I wonder if a dark guardian can be converted? The revelation of Greylyn's family is fascinating. She is a strong-willed guardian angel. I'm looking forward to the rest of this story.

Greylyn has been working for centuries and decides it's time for a little rest. Unfortunately, a person she doesn't want to see shows up. Kael. She doesn't want to admit that he makes her blood boil but in a good way. She knows they can't be, they're on opposite sides.

Very enjoyable read. Not your typical good vs evil . Grey Lynn is a guardian angel who doesn’t remember her human life. Faced with tough choices she fights the pull toward Kael who is a dark guardian. I was left with a few I am swerved questions which set up for a book 2 perfectly

I'd like to thank Booktasters for giving me this opportunity.

Greylyn is a guardian angel. Kael is a dark guardian. It's another good/bad romance. I like that it isn't driven by romance between the two characters. It just makes their last interaction with each other that much better.

I'm taking a fiction course and I find it interesting how the things we were told not to do, is done. When Greylyn thinks things, some of it is in italics and other times, it isn't. I found that to be confusing because I would get used to italics for thoughts but then it wouldn't happen each time.

I would love to know more about human Greylyn. My guess is Kael and Greylyn were together or something. Especially at the end when it says: "Despite what he'd become, he couldn't let go of her, not completely," and "... as long as it meant being close to her again. His chance, their chance, would come." I'm probably looking too deep into that, but it just feels like they have a history besides fighting each other.

It's a great romance book.

Also, it's really an original book. It's a nice change from the usual angel/demon love story as K.C. Freeman makes an universe were people have guardians, and interesting enough that the "bad" one is called a dark guardian, not a bad/malevolent/demonic/or such. It makes guardian angels some kind of light, that might not exist without their counterparts.

All of the "mythology/world building" is introduced slowly enough, as the character tries to make sense of what she is.

I'm very interested in the mystery around Greylyn's past, and the connection with Kael.

Taking one star off mostly because I'm really not at ease with some of the violence that is from being each other nemesis, even if it makes sense in the book/universe.

A fantastic novel with added romantic tension between a Guardian Angel, Greyln and the dark Angel Kael. The story unfolds in the idyllic setting of the Shenandoah Mountains. Greyln and Kael find themselves guests at the same Bed and Breakfast. Their purpose on Earth are total opposite, their past conflicts ,especially historical reference, added intrigue. Despite their differences they find themselves working together to protect a young Bride I was so caught up in the story I didn't want this story of good vs evil to end. Although, the ending left unanswered questions (which is why I didn't make it a 5 star read), it was an exciting fast paced read that I highly recommend.

From reading the prologue alone I knew it was going to be good. I was hooked then. Greylyn is a guardian angel and after centuries of working she needs some R and R but unfortunately her nemesis keeps turning up. I wouldnt say this is necessarily about good vs. evil. This story isnt the end so there is more to it. Kael is a dark angel which is pretty much the opposite of guardian which is why they tangled over the years. So, there is a lot we dont know but again this isnt the end and I enjoyed the book. There is off the charts chemistry and tension between Kael and Greylyn but thats kinda all it is at this point. I liked her mentor Jasper. I recommend.

REKINDLED PROPHECY was a great read this is the first book that I've read by this author. And definitely wont be my last. KC Freeman writing style is brilliant.
What do you do when heaven and hell teams up against you.
Greylyn is a light guardian angel.
Kael is a dark guardian angel. Kael is one sexy dark angel. There's a war coming which side do you choose.
Who do you choose? Find you out how it all plays out then pick up your copy
Highly recommend.

A beautiful tale of angels and demons. KC Freeman's take on the supernatural is everything we expect it to be while she still puts her own stamp on the world she's building. Add one sexy as hell demon with a wicked sense humour who seems to know more than let's on and you've got a winning formula. I look forward to reading more about these two.

I had a hard time with this book, it was just not as enjoyable as i had hoped it would be. First it was the timejump that felt odd and out of place, and then it felt like it tried too hard to be funny, and i was not enjoying the writing either.

Rekindled Prophecy is the first book in the Greylyn the Guardian Angel series with a well-crafted blend of romance, fantasy, and paranormal that is a win-win for any electric reader. Greylyn is an overworked Guardian angel whose mission is to save innocent humans from demons, whether internally or externally. Stumbles upon her archenemy, Kael, while traveling to vacation at an Irish bed and breakfast. For over four centuries, Greylyn has fought this dashing dark guardian and her secret desires for him. A notorious fallen archangel has kidnapped a mother and her unborn child over Greylvn’s head, forcing her to consummate a dormant, but deadly prophecy. To save their lives and stop a fatal prophecy from being fulfilled, Greylyn and Kael must learn to work together and keep their secret desires at bay. Rekindled Prophecy is a great book to add to your summer reading list.

Greylyn and Kael are such wonderful enemies and even better friends, if they could get past the aeons of enmity. A true enemies to lovers plot, but the lovers bit may take a while!
There is more going on than meets the eye, and Greylyn is at the centre of it. Enough to tease but so much more we need to know. The world of Guardian Angels and Dark Guardians is a violent one, and the politics of heaven and hell are as shady as those found on earth.
Jasper is wonderful, cheeky, and sultry and a man of deep emotions. Definitely interested in Greylyn, as much as he hates Kael. Makes it challenging for Greylyn to keep the two apart. I am sure there is more to come!!
Well written paranormal fantasy. Looking forward to the next installment in the series. Such wonderful characters draw you in so you want to know what happens to them next.

This book was gifted to me from the author. This book is amazing. I have read a lot of books that are along the lines of good vs evil, heaven and hell, but this book is so far one of my favorites. The author does an amazing job in painting a picture for you and going into such amazing detail that isn't over done that you actually feel like you are apart of the story. It's hard to stop reading because you want to know what's next, where is the next stop, the next person to save, and who will the next battle be with. I highly recommend this book to all those that are interested in this genre of book. It will keep you on the edge of your seat and turning the pages.

This was amazing!

I was hooked from the start!

Greylyn is a Guardian Angel, who we first meet during her first solo mission, where she happens to meet Kael a Dark Guardian.  The story flashes forward and Greylyn finds her well deserved vacation cut short.

This story flowed brilliantly and KC Freeman writes the characters fantastically. Though I cannot decide if I prefer Kael, the dark guardian angel or Jasper, Greylyn's best friend. Both seem gorgeous.
I look forward to reading the second book.

Rekindled Prophecy is divine. From the very start you get wrapped up in the story. Greylyn is a great heroine, and Kael is both strong and mysterious. Spanning centuries, their love-hate relationship grows stronger with time. I have to admit I'm dying for book two to find out what happens next and more about Greylyn's mysterious past. You do not want to pass by this book - grab a copy and dive in for some action, romance, and adventure!
