The notes in this book are thought provoking and would be a great gift to all parents. There are 25 notes and I enjoyed them all, but my favorites were:
Honor Your Commitments
Every Day Counts
Once You Post, It’s Out There Forever
When In Doubt, Be Nice

If I could only give you one example of what’s in this book, it would be from Note 7: “Words can be daggers to the heart, or they can lift it up.” Every child need to learn this early in life. Like “Once you post it…” Once you say it, you can’t take i

This little book of sage advise is a great addition to any father's personal library. In fact, it is an informative guide for any parent. Some of the topics it addresses are commitment, trust, being a father/dad (the differences), responsibility, psychology vs. physiology, work ethics, plus nineteen more!

In delivering this compilation of "tid-bits", the author adds a bit of humor. The total affect is brief and not boring.

This would be a great gift for Father's Day or for a new father.

Notes to My Son is a collection of 25 "notes" that are 2-3 pages in length, all dedicated to a myriad of topics. Some of them include taking the high road and being kind, even in situations where a person might want to react angrily or with another negative emotion, refusing to let certain topics be considered taboo, and learning from your past (mistakes) to pave way for a better future. Each note offers wise words of wisdom and advice that anyone can take and apply to their own, everyday life. ...more

Eric Lynn Shares Short, Easy to Read Words of Wisdom. While Notes to My Son is short--the author's chosen "notes" are packed with must-read wisdom and thought provoking points. I loved that the notes were only a few pages long--making it easy to read for a busy, easily distracted parent! While short--each and every note was truly useful for a father to share with a son (or a parent to share with a daughter!) The notes selected are sure to help the child live life's "big picture" with intention ...more

Notes To My Son is a short book filled with focused, to the point themed chapters. In each, the author shares a single nugget of wisdom that can be applied in both your personal and professional life.

I am a fan of this format for this genre of book. Having each chapter offer just one thought allows you to pick the book up, read about a single idea, and then put it down. You have all the time you need to think about what you've read as it's not packaged with a lot of other information. Does it ap

MY THOUGHTS ON  THIS BOOK

Author Lynn does an amazing job of writing note that will help him in raising his son. Parenting can be a headache sometimes and its nice to see a book like this. To me, some of the notes are so sweet, as Mr. Lynn talks about the relationship with his son. A few of the notes that stood out to me are, Every Day Counts; and Live in the Present, Learn from your Past and Love Your Future, each talking about the day to day relationship with his son. Another note I found was a

Notes to My Son is a beautifully written book to read. The whole book is only little over 100 pages long with 25 notes to the author’s son. Each note is only a couple of pages long and includes: a short and inspiring message, a quick note and a quote from many different people. Some readers may recognize some these various author quotes - some are well known and some are unknown. I liked all of these notes. They were thought provoking, logical, and powerful. Some of which, I never really thought

What I Loved:
I loved the concept and execution of Notes to My Son. Written in the form of 25 letters to his son, Eric Lynn shares advice on life, being a dad, and so much more. I loved the way he put his feelings down as a tribute to his son.

How I Felt:
The letters, or notes, that Lynn has compiled for his son are broken up into 25 unique pieces. I have found that these really stayed with me after I finished. There is a lot of wonderful advice for people of all ages in this book.

In each of the se

It is a short read but the lessons lasts for a lifetime

I almost cried reading this book. I get emotional because my husband and my son's relationship is not good. I even read a chapter to my husband hoping that he will learn something but nothing.

This book is a short read but so informational and the lessons learned will last for a lifetime. My favorite chapter is 4, the H.A.L.T. It made me realize how are actions can hurt someone when we speak and make decisions base on these emotions. I am mor

***I received this as a Goodreads Giveaway winner and was not paid for my review.

As a father of 3, I loved this little book. As the title suggests, it is a compilations of notes. Ones that I can see a reflective father thinking about holding a baby while s/he sleeps. The notes are full of wisdom and solid points to live an abundant, healthy and loving life.

Admittedly, I did not like a few of the large (never used) words the author used. I am not certain if the usage was to show his level of inte
