For most of the first two volumes of this series, Emiya has been in the kitchen. Now his rivals and friends decide to step up to the stove and start cooking.

It is abominable to have a Shinji-focused story in the volume with Sakura on the cover 😤
Same critiques as before. I like the art and recipes, but the characters feel bland and not enough like themselves. I did love the chapter for New Years, however!
Saber and Shirou walking together to the Ryudo Temple on New Year's Eve - sigh - (while Illya and Taiga hide under the kotatsu at home), and young Shirou and Sakura cooking and doing chores together - so adorable. The Golden G trying to win a certain prize for a certain heroic spirit who continues to turn him down, only to be outdone by our boy Shirou. Rin, Sakura, and Saber shopping together, trying on clothes . . . just regular girl stuff.
and of course, I love seeing my girl Sakura on the cover, smiling. she has always had so little to smile about, compared to not.
I just couldn't with the Shinji stuff, though - no way in hell.
More sweet and cozy stories featuring tasty-looking foods. I'll share some personal highlights.
A spotlight for Assassin. He gets so little focus, it's nice to see someone befriend him.
The backstory for Sakura was heartwarming. The contrast between the start in the past and the continuation in the present is wonderful.
A spotlight for Archer-Gilgamesh. He's out shopping to do the spinning wheel lottery thing. It was pretty fun to see his good luck invert itself, and the shot of him asking Lancer (he of the infamously bad luck stat) was also worth a chuckle.

My first read of 2026 and it did NOT disappoint. Book three has been my absolute favorite so far it gave me a fat dose of serotonin. I pray that they never stop making these. Seeing all my favorite fate characters in a slice of life environment plus cozy cooking is an automatic 5 stars from me every. single. time.😩🙏 MINUS THE SHINJI CONTENT. Why are we even including him I truly don’t understand. Take note people absolutely no one is asking for shinji content. 🤮
This was so sweet and fluffy I wish their was more it fills the void sweetness and lightning left. I relay do need to get around to watching fate some time.
I really liked this one bc I feel like the recipes were kinda easier and I actually want to try cooking most of them.
My favorite chapter has to be 22. The assassin has a special place in my heart, plus the sakuramochi looks delicious. I found this chapter, especially wholesome.
Let's talk about chapter 24 and how proud I was to see a Spanish dish. I don't like gazpacho, but hey, I'm just glad they included one of our traditional dishes.
The side story has to be one of my favorites too, my cursed boy finally has his protagonist moment. I loved the change of scenery too. Also the two featured recipes are actually easy and I think I will try to recreate them, hopefully sooner than later.
I love the author's comments at the end of every volume. The insistence that we should read the visual novel has actually worked bc now I really wanna read them, so I decided that this year I'm gonna finally read the Fate visual novels. It's gonna take me a while, but I have all year so it's okay, plus I feel like when I read them, I will enjoy these even more bc I will finally understand the references.
