Joining the Collectors Division was my only goal once the orphanage washed their hands of me at the age of twelve.
Unruly and quick to anger, I was taken in by an academy instructor until I was old enough to attend myself. With love and understanding I thrived, and it became my mission to be the best Guardian the Collectors Division had ever seen. I couldn’t

I finally caved and started this book. After reading the Neighpalm series, I really wanted to read more of Lexie Winston's work. I LOVED Glorious Gluttony and figured I'd give this a go.....and I'm grateful that I did.
This book is SOOO good. I really enjoy reading books where the heroine is strong and independent. Mina was truly a joy to read about, I cant wait to see what she gets up to in the next two books.

I DNF this book and I’m never going to read anything from this author again. This is all based on her ‘Authors Note’ that was written in the beginning of the book. This bitch talks down to and is condescending towards anyone who needs a trigger warning. Ummm, what? Calling someone who has survived abuse a ‘special snowflake’ in your authors note is a way to lose readers. I’m going to copy and paste her authors note so you all can read it.

This was not it.

From the blurb you expect the premise to be awesome and then you get stuck with chaos. Nothing in this book made sense. We were given information that amounted to nothing.

The heroine is upset with some of her ex friends because they were supposed to pick her to be the sole female in their group but they went with someone else. Why the heroine was so made even though she had not made the Gauntlet and she had to wait 4 years to take it, drove me crazy. I mean, did she want them to
I skipped the author's note in this book, but read it in the second. I wish I would've read it because it would have made this an automatic DNF. This author has the audacity to call people snowflakes because they need a trigger warning. I'm sorry, but anyone who calls names, or makes fun of mental health is not someone I respect or will support. Hard pass on EVER reading anything else by this author. Shame on you! ...more

I just loved it, I am in love with this book! It was soooooo good!!! I loved Mina she is a bad bitch, she is fierce, knows what she wants, strong, badass woman! I needed a character like Mina, I haven’t read such a strong fierce female character in a long time! I loved Mina, I am IN LOVE with Mina, she was just amazing! I have no words for her character like I just can’t seem to say how much I love and put exclamation points at the end so I’m just going to shut up about her.

Read other books by this author in the future: yes
#1: MC: Mina (Jessamina), Samuel, Lysander, Patrick, Zephaniah, Mavromivhali, Drusilla
#2 MC: Mina (Jessamina), Samuel, Lysander, Patrick, Zephaniah, Mavromivhali, Drusilla, Jagger, Malakai

I am going to review book one and two here. The biggest difference between the first book and the second is, that the first one is a slow burn with a good fantasy story and the second on a medium/quick burn the fantasy story takes a step

What a different take on Urban Fantasy Realms. Mina, the main character, is an interesting blend of fierce and vulnerable. The cliffhanger has definitely left me wanting more.

How... am.... I..... supposed.... to.... survive
Seriously how can I go back to living a normal life after reading this book. It was so well written I was transported in to the book too. For a baby author this book is just amazing, cannot wait to find out what happens next in this series

What? I mean really, what in the what? This world building makes no sense, there is so much given and yet not enough to give us a real idea what the he'll is going on. Who are the AOA? Is it humans and angels? Just Angels? What's their cause? What happened with the Dragons? Why did the boys break her heart by choosing? were they pushed? How did Constance die? what proof did they have she died! There was no body found! These are among the many questions I have to a most ridiculous read, it se

This book is so different and intriguing. It is so captivating, I didn’t realize I was reaching the end, until I did; and I was not happy about that. Although, I’m ready for the next one. Such a great book.

This book was amazing... I love the concept and world building. A little tough to keep track of some of the characters because there are a lot of secondary ones, but I feel that will get easier. Lots of mystery about Mina. I have some thoughts, but I guess we will see how that turns out in the next book. From the beginning I did not trust Constance. Her behavior that was described seemed fishy and manipulative from the very start and when her body wasn't recovered I knew she would come

I don't think I have ever given a 1 star review before even books I don't enjoy I normally give more than one star. This being because I didn't even start reading this as the author at the start basically calls people who have triggers snowflakes! How insensitive. Well I'm sorry for being a snowflake.

Interesting Idea

I’d probably give this book 3.5 ⭐️ if I could.

I enjoyed this book, which was based on an interesting premise. There are 5 worlds, all created and ruled over by 5 different gods. They all have different attributes with Reath having magic, which is where our main characters come from. They are Guardians with Collectors Division. One of the problems of these 5 worlds is that there seems to be some overlap. For instance, Earth is filled with creative people who dream of monsters and
This is the first book I have read by Winston, and it had me hooked from the beginning. Mina is fierce, but she also has some vulnerabilities. I like that while the heat is there right away, we also see the relationships forming, Mina is questioning how it could work. The ending was a shocker, and I wanted to shake a certain guy. Thankfully book 2 came out today, so I can go download it right away :)

I wasn't sure quite what to think about this book when I first delved in, but that resolved soon and I found myself captivated by not only the characters, but the PREMISE of this world.

The imagination of inventiveness of the human mind combines with magic to create what we dream.... dragons, Santa Clause, Witches, Smurfs... all of it. Popular culture comes out to play, and the Guardians are a select group specially trained and created to handle the influx and danger these creations can cause. Th

I really enjoyed this book. My favorite aspect was the mystery surrounding Mina, the main female character. I have a guess and can't wait to see if I am right. My least favorite aspect was there were things that seem obvious but these super smart characters didn't seem to notice. For example, one of the villains (assuming, not a confirmed villain) did and said many very obvious, shady things but no one mentioned watching him or those he seems to favor more closely. Perhaps they did but the h

A PNR RH with FF and MM. I love the setting, the world the story takes place in shows great imagination.
Not a big fan of FF, but I'll manage.

I enjoyed the book and the storyline but I didn’t love how quickly Mina forgives the guys. I get they didn’t have a choice in picking Constance but they still hurt her and she just pushes that aside as if it doesn’t matter.

This was a great first book. It was a fast read and left a little cliffhanger but I luckily could get the next one.

The first thing that really put me off this book was the Author's Note at the very beginning. I get the whole debate on whether or not to include content warnings, since it can spoil some things but also can be a good advertiser for people who want certain things out of their books. But if you think that it is not necessary/wanted in your own books, don't include them. Don't say "Author's Note: Snowflake edition." That is condescending and unnecessary and very dismissive of people who may have l ...more

Another new series but I really liked the gluttony story in the Eden anthology so gave this one a go. Another end of academy with a final trial test and an abandoned child. I liked the story set up, who wouldn’t want to hunt down and protect imagination and myth creations. The MC is sassy and stubborn, but has abandonment issues and is highly sexual so hoping two books in its not gonna turn into a sex fest. Its an angels and demons story and man they can be petty so there is discrimination. I li ...more

WOW, this was an amazing read that had me hooked from the very first paragraph. It moved along at a great pace, which made for an enjoyable read as it was not to fast nor to slow, has amazing characters that will grab you and no matter what you want to see them succeed and a story that will grab and keep you interested all the way till the very end and leave you wanting more. This is a must read that has to be added to your list to read. It is really good and you will not be sorry that you read ...more
