Jailed at the young age of 23, Bhagat Singh wrote this letter to his father when his case on having killed English Police officer Saunders reached the final stages in court. His father had requested the courts to look into evidences that would prove his son’s innocence, but the letter only goes on to show why Bhagat Singh is a true revolutionary who paved a new path for Indian Independence.
Bhagat Singh was an Indian socialist considered to be one of the most influential revolutionaries of the Indian independence movement. He is often referred to as "Shaheed Bhagat Singh", the word "Shaheed" meaning "martyr" in a number of South Asian and Middle Eastern languages. Born into a Sikh family which had earlier been involved in revolutionary activities against the British Raj, as a teenager Singh studied European revolutionary movements and was attracted to anarchist and Marxist ideologies. He became involved in numerous revolutionary organisations, and quickly rose through the ranks of the Hindustan Republican Association (HRA) to become one of its main leaders, eventually changing its name to the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association (HSRA) in 1928.
I wish I had the audacity to speak my father like this great man did. We need more honest people like him or may be I should say, I should try and be more honest like him. Salutes.
This is something that shows a complete difference of being an adult at the age of 23, in process of answering to his father letters, Bhagat Singh has shown enough character and maturity where his mind and actions stick on same thing, at the age of 23 where most of the guys cant even say no or no choice given, he just discussed the points where there had few differences with the policy in trail. These line shows cases the difference of Bhagat Singh and other people who truly loves the nation and everything's comes next to their love towards their commitment.
Father, I am quite perplexed, I fear I might ovelook the ordinary principle of etiquette and my language may become harsh while critizing or rather censoring this move on your part. Let me be candid. I feel as though I have been stabbed at the back.
This is what the word conviction means. The man refused to defend himself in court on principle and when a emotionally overwhelmed father begged the tribunal, the very same man had the audacity to tell his own father that his father had betrayed all that he stood for. These are the kind of people the world needs, the brand of politicians we desperately need.
A bold and confident letter by Bhagat Singh. This shows how bold and sure he was about his decision and firm on it. This shows his patriotism, willingness to do something for the nation. It's a short read which you can finish in less than 15 minutes
A great insight into the mind of a man who was so clear regarding the purpose of his life in such a young age. Everyone should go through life of Bhagat Singh in detail as there is a great deal which we still haven't learned from him.
I am still trying to process...! I read about bhagat Singh, cuz I wanna know more about his personality or how this person is thinking
He literally hates hypocrisy so much that even he told his father that they don't do anything , let them even kill me , cuz if u do anything that will make me look like hypocrite....!!
Wow so much for the idealism, he even can die for that.

A must read for everyone - for Indians and for our brothers and sisters beyond our border. I cannot show or pay enough respect to him by any means. Maybe, in my dreams, I can be like him.
He was a great man . He knew what is he doing. And no one could have deviated him from his beliefs. He showed great courage and determination. TRUE INDIAN
A quick read to get into the shoes of Bhagat Singh and his grit in standing true to his ideologies though the situation needs going against his own father, who himself is another freedom fighter.
