I want that.
It was the first thought that entered my mind when I laid eyes on her.
Kimber is all creamy skin and vibrant red hair. The fiery kind that makes a man understand there is strength in her convictions. She’ll stand by the ones she loves, no matter the cost.
And it fuels the desire to make her mine.
The biggest choice she made left her arms empty.
I’m searching for a flicker of hope she’ll let me fill them again.
I want that.
For her.
For us.
Today is the day.
Four years is a long time for any man to wait.
But if Kimber’s heart hasn’t mended yet, mine will splinter. Because it means I haven’t given the woman I love everything she needs.

Sweet short novella …

Touching novella that is the first part of a series.

Trig and Kimber are so in love. But when things are moving forward, Kimber’s past haunts them.

I read this novella with tears in my eyes, it ‘s a great opening for what’s coming next in this series!.

Wow! This was a great novella. Trig's love for Kimber was so deep and believable. Jody wrote this book as if you were watching a movie instead. The scenes were clear in my mind. It gave so many little clues to things that I was trying to piece them together like a puzzle. I love that. This book was such a tease for the next one to come. I can't wait to read it. Highly recommended.

This was a Short Gorgeous Story with Soulful Love, Sacrifices, Emotions and Cute Happy moments.

#My 1st by Jody and I'm definitely Going for more!

ARC Received for a honest Review.

It has been 4 years since Kimber came in Trig's life. He has since made her his and they're irrevocably in Love.

This book takes us on a Journey when She Finally reveals the last piece of her past AND Afterwards How These two take their relation into Next Level. Their Beautiful Deserving Future.

(Blurb) The 'thing' that Trig wants to give her? He totally Does *wink*!

I loved this story! Especially The personalities of all the characters. Trig's Sweetness, Protectiveness & Patience towards Kimber was Endearing.
Kimber! That woman is Darn Strong. She's made a good life for herself Even after all her struggles, and I'm very proud of her for that!

All side characters were lovely❤.

The epilogue was fantastic!

P.s. So excited For the next Book in the series😘.

This was a great introduction for me to this author and this series.

Kimber and Trig have been together for four years. They love each other so much. It’s only when Kimber tells Trig about her past that they can make plans for the future. A really lovely story of a strong courageous woman. I love how patient and loving Trig is towards her.

I’m so looking forward to reading more from this author.

This is a short story but with the punch of a longer one.
Trig and Kimber have been together for 4 years and he wants more but does she as well.
Her life hasn't been easy but he falls more in love with her courage. This is definitely a must read.
Loved reading this book and looking forward to reading the next in the series.

If you have never read Jody's works, do it! You will not be sorry. I was not sure what to expect from Splinter of Hope, but I wasn't disappointed.
It took me a quick minute to get into it, but that is only because I had to wrap my head around the fact that I wasn't reading about the Quints.
I quickly found myself engaged with the characters - Trig is that perfect book boyfriend! Kind, generous, loving, and sexy to boot. I love strong female leads in my books, and Kimber fits the bill. She is courageous, walking through her life's challenges and growing into a strong woman. They were both just so easy to like.
My ONLY complaint about this book is that it was over WAY too quickly! I was so immersed in the storyline that I didn't realize it was coming to an end and I was so disappointed to be finished.
I am really looking forward to the next book in the series!

Another great novel from Jody Kaye. Very different from the Kingsbrier series, but just as good a read. (Although I felt like this one went by really quickly!) The characters are well developed and you immediately get a sense of their personalities, like you are part of their world. I cried with Kimber and felt Trig's quiet confidence. Another series that has stolen my heart. I can't wait to read the next book!

Spliter of hope 3.5 ⭐️
I was really excited about this book this was my first read from Jody and I enjoyed it.
The chemistry between the couple was well written and the story flowed it was a easy short read that had everything.
Although I did enjoy it, I did feel that it should have been a full novel as I felt it was quite rushed I'm hoping that I will see more of Trig and Kimber in thread of decency.

Splinter of Hope is a novella about a couple - Kimber and Trig - who have deep love and feelings for each other yet they still have some pressuring issues to discuss to take their relationship to the next level.

Will Kimber feel comfortable enough with and in Trig's love to finally talk to him about her past?

The characters are developed and the story is a page-turner. I liked reading this story and will look for more work by Jody Kaye to read.

Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Easy-to-read, Happily Ever After, Page-turner, Tear-jerker, Wonderful characters

Splinter of hope by Jody Kaye is an emotional and heart warming novella.

Kimber and Trig are two easy to like main characters who are trying to beat their demons and change their futures.

My only complaint. Too short !! I was really involved in the story and boom. Epilogue. I hasten to add it does have a proper ending.

Well worth a read. Thank goodness it’s part of a series.

Only four stars as I would have liked it to have been longer.

Awesome novella of the rocky road of growing up, learning you have no one you can depend on and then not realizing that what you've always wanted is staring back at you, loving you thru it all. Loved it!! I volunteered an honest opinion for this book.

Life is hard and sometimes unfair but when you meet your perfect match, the world becomes kinder, warmer, and more filled with hope. That's what this story said to me. Kimber and Trig are soulmates with colorful, painful pasts. They understand each other, even if it takes time to share their true desires. This short story is the perfect introduction to the Shattered Hearts of Carolina series.

I just finished my ARC copy of the book. I want a Trig too! My only complaint is that the book is too short. It left me wanting more and learning more about the new characters. I can’t wait for the next installment of the Shattered Hearts of Carolina series.

Sometimes you have to hold on to the splinter of hope

Splinter of Hope is the first book in the Shattered Hearts of Carolina series. This short story packs an emotional hit that gets you right in the heart, as it deals with a really big issue that seems to be even more impactful at the current moment in time. The story introduces the reader to Sweet Caroline's and the people that work at this strip club. This story is all about club manager Kimber and her boyfriend and fellow employee Trig. Both of these two have been through he!! and back again in different ways. But each has been left with scars that you cannot see but that are soul crushing. However, together they know and understand each other in a way that no one else ever has or ever will. For Kimber it was an unplanned pregnancy when she was a senior in high school, her boyfriend abandoning her and then her mother kicking her out of the house. All alone and working only a fast food job she made the very tough decision for her baby to be adopted. That was eighteen years ago but the pain has never left her. Sure she has been able to see her daughter grow up, at least one day a year. Trig on the other hand was in the military and after doing two tours overseas suffers from PTSD. He has gone through counseling and still works on himself but that still never completely goes away. The one thing in his life that he would do anything for is Kimber. As such he is always there, respecting her privacy, understanding but never pushing, supporting but never telling and always loving and now ready to see if she is ready to have it all with him.

This story takes place within about twenty-four hours and it will hit you right in the solar-plexus with the emotion. I absolutely adored this well crafted and written story. There were a few times that I felt like I was missing a bit of info but that will be coming over the series. I loved this couple who have it more together and are more devoted to each other than most supposed "upstanding" couples.

This is the story of Trig and Kimber. Trig loved Kimber unconditionaly and totally. Kimber has things that she is not ready to talk about. Trig has waited a long time for Kimber. Will it shatter the heart of Trig? This is a great start to the series. I loved the characters I could really relate to them, they seemed real. The story flowed it is a short story but it flowed well and I cannnot wait to read more in the series. Loved it.

This is a well written book with strong characters and a touching romance between Kimber and Trig. The author does a great job bringing out the emotions and paints her scenes beautifully. It's a short ,fast paced story with all the feels as she has them working through their issues. She packs a punch in a short amount of time and delivers a sweet love story.

Sooo I really didn’t get into this story at the beginning and made myself keep reading in hopes of that one ‘thing’ to catch my interest. Neither Kimber nor Trig have had an easy life, but their love for each other proves perseverance is key in helping future dreams obtainable. Their blended family works and the peak at the next book in the series looked promising.

So much history of emotional pain, struggle, perseverance, caring and love told through memories and actions. Trig has loved Kimber for four years and waited to tell her how he felt before he felt the time was right.
Jody Kaye has really captured my attention with this book.

Trig's love for Kimber but she needs to heel from her past before they can move forward. The love just pours from the pages. A really nicely developed story. Love the characters!

Trig has been in love with Kimber for years and has been giving her time to be ready for him. He is finally tired of waiting. Will she give in to her feeling or break his heart and deny what they could have. Loved this book!
