“Darius.” It came out choking from his chapped lips, and his head jerked as he tried to look up into her face.
“What now?”
“‘S my name. Darius. Thank you.”
Of all the humans drowning around her, she had to be stuck with the one who bothered to mind his manners as he was dying. She bit back a laugh. “Well, good to know. Stay alive, Darius.”
“Death feels so warm,” he whispered,

Mini Review:
I was contacted by M.C. Frank about a fun little Titanic retelling called Ice Mermaid. They asked me if I wanted to read and review it, and of course I said yes. As I can’t shoot down anything regarding the Titanic, let alone a story about sirens/mermaids!

This story is interwoven with Greek mythology, angsty love, and was a quick little read. I enjoyed the plot and it flowed extremely well. I personally noticed a few grammatical errors but they

I enjoyed meeting these characters, and seeing more of this series. That said, being a novella, it was rushed, and I wish we had more time with Lorelei and Darius, but I also wish the ending felt a little more complete, while I didn't mind Lorelei and Darius's ending, I felt that the last chapter was just Lorelei in....limbo, while the world moved on around her. Still, I don't care for insta-love but with the short

A passing Mermaid witnesses the Titanic sinking. She tries to save the humans. One in particular is different. Awesome story. Well worth the read.

M.C. Frank has done it again: and somehow, this time, in short-form brilliance.

When a passing mermaid witnesses firsthand the sinking of the Titanic, even she is moved by the immense loss of human life. What do you do in the face of such a catastrophe but latch on to one person, try to save just one - no matter the personal cost.

I loved this look into the Mermaid side of Salt for Air. In the first book of the series, we have a human perspective: in this prequel, we follow a character who is
An intriguing and magical teaser story that, for once, makes insta-love into something other than a dirty (conjoined) word.

Lorelei is a creature of the water, a mermaid, a siren; regardless of the name humans give her she has little care for them. That is until the night a great metal ship hits her iceberg, and she's faced with the most entrancing human male she's ever seen. The rules of her land, the otherworld known as the Kingdom, dictate that she must leave him be. But for reasons beyond her

I picked this up because I adore the author's work. Having read Salt For Air, I wanted to read the novella that goes before it. The story starts with a mermaid hanging around the area where the Titanic sank, forbidden from being seen, and not too bothered with humans anyway, Lorelai is trying to keep out of their way and then a dying man tries to save her, and everything changes. The story was beautifully written, I felt like I could feel the chill of the ice water, I adored the characters, as I ...more

M.C. Frank made me fall in love with her writing all over again! The story is about a mermaid who rescues a man from a sinking ship - not just any ship, but Titanic itself. The novella is short but fast-paced, intense, and full of emotions. Frank mastered the art of creating strong and complex female protagonists, and such swoonworthy male characters, you wish they were real!
You can read the story either before or after 'Salt for Air', which makes it a perfect read for those who already are fans

Such a cute novella that really makes you think when you finish it! Love the concept of love and emotions and that the world needs more of it. Its always a treat when a novella can affect you in such a small amount of words!

This novella is truly amazing.
From the cover, to everything inside.
The ice princess, Darius. Again I am not let down. I love her books. And can not wait for more!

A short story that could be described as a secondary tale associated with the events of the Titanic.
What a beautifully written prequel to the outstanding "Salt For Air"!

I thoroughly enjoyed this magical little gem that gave you some more information and insight into the kingdom and world of SFA.

It's an easy yet fascinating read and I cannot wait for the sequel and more great stories and tales from this wonderful and captivating world (I so want to be a mermaid now!)!!!

Do you like short stories or novellas? Usually, I don't read them, because i can't connect with th echaracters in the few pages, but when i received an email with Ice Mermaid, I knew i have to read it, because is about mermaids , and the Titanic,. sounds like an interesting combination. The only bad thing about the novel it's super short, only 30 pages , but it's a nice stoy (just like her beautiful cover ).
Is about a mermaid resting on her iceberg when the Titanic collides with him, she knows

Welcome to the engrossing world of M.C. FRANK's books, where characters aren't going to have an easy time of it: They will find themselves in icy-cold dystopian worlds where kissing is forbidden (among other things), or in green forests ruled by evil Sheriffs. If they're in Jane Austen's England, they have to be running away from a traumatic childhood, or if they are in our contemporary world, ...more
