This short novel is a farce, really, because it depicts a future America had Trump not left office when he was voted out in 2020. It is at turns humorous, sad, scary and just plain ridiculous.

The author has thought of everything that could happen and within 16 years, it has. Most of America appears to be underwater. The climate has gone haywire. People of color are nonexistent, and everyone living outside the "domes" are cannibals because animals are extinct and with constant tornadoes,

Read 2036 - youll always remember it!

THIS IS A GREAT BOOK. Its smart funny and fast-paced. AND there are lessons .... the authors wry and dry humor, along with his barely-disguised determination to save us from ourselves makes this unique and fun.

Michael Sandels delivers a politically incorrect fiction that will make you laugh, chuckle, and think. He creates an imagined 2036 life in a place filled with injustice. The conversations and interactions are positioned as relating the distortion of the worlds future, due to social and political choices. You can enjoy this book regardless of your voting party preferences but only if you have a sense of humor.

2036 is laid out with a focus on people and communities that remain. One of the

I received this book for free at my request but the opinion is of my own. This book takes us to the future as if trump never leaves the office and has forced his way to stay until a bitter end for him. During this time rape becomes acceptable, people live very short lives, those against trump are hunted, and the world is a mess. Definitely a scary thought for those that care about whats going on in our world. ...more

Given the lengthy and thorough synopsis, there is little point in rehearsing here what 2036 is about and it is probably obvious, too, that this is a cynical and sarcastic look at the future of earth and it's population if humankind continues as it presently exists. It is fast paced, futuristic 'fun' superbly read by the author, Michael Sandels, himself, who impressively captures not only separate voices for the numerous protagonists, but also the various

I listened to this book on Audible. It reminded me of the show Futurama. It took about 3 chapters before I could get into this book. There are quite a few laugh out loud moments. Not too sure how a Conservative would react to this book lol ...more
