Toy Girl by Savannah Maris is a light, easy, feel good story that left me with a smile on my face and a happy tear in my eye.

Jess Compton’s biggest fear is all the bad things that happen when she strays off “the path”. So, she lives life fully planned out with as little risk as possible. That is until her best friend, April, asks her to tag along on a beach vacation to meet her newest online love. But in April’s plan, Jess must agree to let loose and live life to the fullest…of course with a

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Toy Girl is the first novel of author, Savannah Maris, I’ve had the pleasure of reading, and I must say, it will not be the last. I loved this book and devoured it in one day! The characters are likable and relatable. The storyline was cute and refreshing in today’s market. The character, April (my favorite) – the main character’s best friend, was sassy and quick-witted. She’s a woman after my own heart. I loved her bar games and

This is this Cranky reader first time reading Savannah Maris while she’s not new to our blog she’s new to me and I absolutely enjoyed Toy Girl and can’t wait to read more by her. This book is about finding love when you least expect it and overcoming tragedy and making your life your own again and having fun.

Jessica Compton must stay on the “path”. A series of rules she has made for herself that keep her on the up and up. You see Jessica believes every time she has a glimmer of

I absolutely LOVE anything that the amazing Savannah Maris releases, so I already knew that Toy Girl would be AWESOME, and I was so right! Jessica has had a lot of loss in a very short amount of time, and it's made her very controlled, with no risk taking at all. Luckily, she has a friend named April, who is very committed to getting Jess to have some fun in life, so talks her into going to Myrtle Beach for a week for some relaxation. Little did Jess know when she reluctantly agreed, that it ...more

This was such a cute and funny read, I loved every second of it and didn’t want it to end. Jessica has a rough time in life she has endured a lot of loss in such a short time so she is very cautious and doesn’t take any risks. So her friend April tries to get her to relax and break free for a week on a trip to Myrtle Beach, reluctantly Jess agrees but what she doesn’t know is it will ultimately change her life. Jess goes and is set up with Cress whom she met earlier looking for seashells, I don’ ...more

Jess and Cress are introduced through their friends April and Vince. Jess has had a tough life and the initial week Cress and Jessica engage in together was sweet and swoony until another bad event happens to Jess and causes her and Cress to seperate for a time. Through another expected event, Jess and Cress meet again with Cress determined to convince Jess to see how perfect they are together.

Overall, I enjoyed the book. I enjoyed meeting all the characters including April and Vince. Cress is

One week to go off "The Plan" of her life, down south. She's a sidekick for her friend to meet an online date, she's the support. They have a plan if it's not going well, the names of drinks that will be ordered when they meet will tell the tale, if it's going well, then other drinks will be ordered. It's hilarious! The name "Toy Girl" does not take affect until at least half way through the story. The story starts in the past and it's a good chunk, but you need it to see what type of guy Cress ...more

5 Stars

I LOVED this book! From start to finish I was hooked! I instantly connected to these characters and could not get enough of them. Jessica was hilarious and Cress was such a sweet heart! This was a fun, fast, sweet read and one that I was sad to see come to an end. Full of some laugh out loud moments, and some pretty sad and emotional ones I was dying to know what was going to happen next. The chemistry between Jessica and Cress was off the charts and their instant connection was

Jess has a plan in life and by sticking to that plan things have gone pretty smooth for Jess. Until she lets her BFF convince her to go to the beach for some fun in the sun and a little bit of romance by night. But things don’t always go to plan and she should have stood fast to her plan.

Cress feels like a fool for letting his best friend offer up his services as a potential escort and possible blocker of unwanted attention for a girls that his friend hasn’t even met, but what the heck, why not

I’m going to give this one 4.25 stars... I had a major annoyance with this book (probably just me, but I just can’t get over how much we read about her virginity. Too much Savannah. But again, could just be me.)

Jessica and Cress meet for the first time thanks to there friends. Jessica decides to let go and have fun for this one week and Cress is more then willing. But every time she has fun something bad happens. Poor girl!
There friends, who introduced them are pregnant and getting married so

I absolutely love Jess and Cress! I see a lot of myself in Jess. She is afraid to do things outside of the box because every time she does, something goes wrong. She is very conservative and afraid to let go and have fun. Umm story of my life! But I love being able to relate that much to a character! Cress is the sweetest guy and is so gentle with Jess and considerate of her worries and fears. Don't we all need that sometimes? I also love the touch of comedy in this book. Several parts had me ...more

Toy Girl was light, easy to read, unpredictable story of two people who met through their best friends.
Unexpected love meets planed path. The decision to take the right turn is heavy with all the tragedies Jess has dealt with.
All her life is one big tragedy and she doesn't allow herself for happines.
Would Cress be able to convince Jess that every stony path could have true happy ending? And when Cress uses the right explanation and words, would she be able to resist?
Find out for yourself. I

Toy Girl was a sweet love story and to totally loved it.

Jess and Cress meet when they tag along with friends who have been chatting on line and have arranged to meet for the first time. After hitting it off instantly they are meant to have a week of adventures together but all they get is a single magical day before Jess leaves without explanation.

Fate brings them together again and neither can resist the feelings they have for the other.

Cress has to be one of the sweetest hero I've read in a

This was a super enjoyable book that you will not want to put down. Jessica has had a lot of tragedy in her life and decided that she needed to stay on a path of no relationships. Cress has never desired a relationship. When they are brought together by friends for a one week vacation; their attraction makes them battle their need for no relationship. Will love this book!

Great story

Great story of girl meets guy then life happens. They dont see each other for a few months. She is on a path. No fun boring until her friend takes her on spring break.

This was different than Savannah's other books but I loved every second. It would make a great romantic comedy. It had the right amount of romance and had me laughing throughout. It's a fun read that you will enjoy
