When it comes down to acclaim in the yearbook, my class rank would probably earn me my only entry, but very little else. I don’t wear cosmetics, do my hair or really give a damn about my appearance in general. I don’t need to be cool, and I’ve managed my high school career navigating all the different groups from the nerds to the jocks to the theatre kids and the band ...more

Frankie and her four best friends, Bubba, Archie, Cooper and Jake, are entering their senior year in high school. It should be the best time of their lives. Unfortunately, Frankie found out the guys had declared her as "untouchable" and distanced herself over the last summer. Starting senior year, the boys are having none of that. When Frankie lets them know that she WILL experience the things other people get to do, like dating, they decide to FINALLY step up and make their move. All of them. ...more

Rules and Roses (Untouchable Book 1)Kindle Edition
byHeather Long
I received an eARC from the author and choosing to leave a fair and honest review.
Please note the Kindle version of this book will be published on November 25, 2019

Wow! What a complex story with a gut punch of an ending.
Frankie is starting her final year of high school. She is a deeply driven person, and knows what she wants to do. She wants to save up the money to go to college somewhere there are seasons! She lives in the heart of

Completely captivating

In general, I am not a reverse harem fan. I AM, however, a huge fan of this author. As this is book 1 in a new series, by an author I really enjoy, I figured “why not” and gave it a shot. I’m SO glad I did! It was funny and sweet, with entertaining character interactions and a storyline that flows fast and smoothly. I was completely captivated, sucked right in and unable to put it down until the very end. And that ending!! I can’t wait for book 2!

Clearly stated in the beginning of the book, Rules and Roses does not have a conclusive end in this first book of a series. It does have an engaging story that leads to (hopefully!) more in the series, and has all the pieces of a story that will grab you and hold on until you finish.

Frankie grew up with four friends – guy friends – who have sort of sabotaged her high school dating years. “The boys” have made it clear to all other males that she is not to be touched, and she does not date, but

Heather Long has long been a favorite author of mine. It doesn't matter what she writes, I am pulled into the story and not let go until I finish.

Welcome back to high school, it's been a long time since I was there and I found myself delighted in the pursuits of Frankie's Senior Year.

At the end of Frankie's junior year she made the discovery that her best friends, Cooper, Bubba, Jake and Archie had labeled her untouchable. Now while she's been totally focused on her goals, she still wanted to

This is not my usual go-to genre but the author is on of my favourite PNR authors so I decided to give it a whirl. Wow I was not disappointed.

Apart from making my feel achingly old and very cougary, this is a great story. Strong plot with engaging characters. You can really feel the confusion Frankie has towards her "boys". You really want to slap them sometimes though. The whole don't-touch-her attitude just made her lonely situation worse! Instead of protecting her, they really hurt her!

First off that young girl I really could relate to now because that is how I am now. I have tons of make up but do not use it things like that. So with that being said it was very easy for me to fall into this one and really get in sync with it. The rep she had I did not think was a bad one but guys can be so dumb in that department when young though. The best girls are not usually the easy ones lol. Being also this one was the first in a series it gave a good bones to it. But then she does have ...more

What a "wow" story and what an ending...I was expecting it...and it ends on a cliffhanger..gotta love it. Its still very much worth the read..You have Senior student "Frankie" and her best friends Coop, Bubba, Jake & Archie trying to get through the next 181 days..They take study buddy to the next level. They actually put a no date or touch policy on her throughout the school ..and then she finds out..This one is definitely worth the read, very entertaining and keeps you in your seat. I ...more

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The characters were interesting and as they were from different backgrounds and temperaments that added to the richness of the storyline as well. I am a fan of this author though I have usually read her paranormal shifter stories which are excellent as well. I am looking forward to the next installment of this story because I am hooked and have to see what happens. If you like reverse harem stories I highly recommend this but keep in mind this book doesn't have ...more

HOLY MOLY! When I picked up this book I knew it was going to be a reverse harem. What I didn’t understand was that this is unlike any other RH I’ve read. First all the main characters are seniors in high school. Second there are so many questions. Third this book blew my mind. I can’t stop thinking about what’s happened and what could happen. I am really looking forward to the next installment.

I really enjoyed this story. A well written story with great characters. A girl who grew up with boys as best friends.
I can't wait to read more about these characters.
I was given an advanced reader copy and I voluntarily leave this review.

In don't read a lot of YA but this was worth reading. Senior year and then she's out of there. First she has to get through it but things are different, her besties are acting different. Frankie's senior year isn't what you expect but so much more!!! Remember this is only book 1!!

This is such a great start to this series. It’s really different and that’s probably why I didn’t mind It being YA. Hopefully it heats up more in book 2! I really liked the dynamic of the characters and how the guys kind of rally together to help their girl. A really fun start.

This book was amazing!! I had to force myself to put it down. I am so excited about the next book. I wish it didn’t end like it did, but I am hoping that everything works out.

I have never been an RH fan BEFORE-note that. But somehow, Heather has managed to make me dive into the story and I was hooked. Heather never fails to produce the chemistry that pulls you no matter what you are reading. I loved it. ...more

The ending really surprised me. I knew it would be a cliffhanger just not that. Just as Archie begins to really trust and open up again she is slammed with something knew to make her question her friends. The guys are really just trying to be protective of her but don't see how they are hurting her. I look forward to finding out who the mystery person is. I enjoyed this book and definitely want to read more.

Really Good Contemporary NA Reverse Harem

I’d give this 4.5 if I could.

This is one of the best NA Reverse Harems I’ve come across, because it gets it right. It gets the confusion and the screw ups and the rampant hormones of being a teenager and having feelings for friends of the opposite sex. Some of them have some experience, some have none and neither of those two extremes are wrong or right, but I liked that none of them were extremely experienced.

Frankie is in her senior year of high school
I'm not sure how to rate this, so for now, I'll leave it without any stars.

While I somewhat enjoyed reading this book about Frankie and her boys, I also got slightly tired of reading about who has which lesson/school subject next, and what homework they need to do, and what food they want to order, and who'll meet up with whom, when, and where. Oh, and who will bring the coffee (spoiler alert: it's almost always Archie). The book was just a long date/meet-up planning session at times. And I

I don’t wear cosmetics, do my hair or really give a damn about my appearance in general. I don’t need to be cool, and I’ve managed my high school career navigating all the different groups from the nerds to the jocks to the theatre kids and the band geeks.

Kicking off senior year, my only focus is to make every AP class count and keep my grades up. Shouldn’t be hard,

I really wanted to love this book and there were parts that I did like.... But overall it was just okay for me. It didn't seem to really have a plot yet outside of them starting to date. It is a lot of day to day things and them beginning to start a relationship. The guys are confusing and do send a lot of mixed signals. Then at the end they continue to make a lot of decisions for her which just infuriates her even more. I feel like it just started to have more depth at the end between

I Need me a Bubba

Loved this book
Frankie was such a realistic character, a lot of the things she worried about and had insecurities about I found myself relating to.
Her boys are also amongst some of my favorite that I've read in a while, I have no idea how Frankie managed to hold back with Jake, the mouth on that boy was H-O-T. I was a little disappointed in the lack of Bubba in the 2nd half of the book because I loved him so much.
I'm hoping there's more scenes with him and Frankie the next book.

Wow, I mean, just wow. This book was so friggin fantastic I could not put it down. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I am so impressed. The characters are so addictive. All the guys are interesting and unique and the MC is brilliant as well as very relatable. It’s absolutely refreshing to read a contemporary RH without the bully element. I am so sad book two won’t be out until January, I need the end of this story ASAP! Also, fingers crossed for more POV’s from the guys.

I absolutely adored this book! The characters were all likeable and SO VERY real! All of the time characters in books just don't seem believable but I feel like I could completely run into Frankie or one of her guys on the street! The storyline was interesting and mysterious and I am dying for book 2!
Tish Cocktails & Fairytales
A really great story with facinating characters. I actually went into this book completely blind, I had absolutely no idea what it was going to be about. I was so glad when I learned that it was an RH because I really do enjoy a good RH! I have enjoyed a few other books by this author and I'm looking forward to reading many more.

I loved this book. There was no bullying but still a good reason to be angry with the guys. They were so clueless so you can easily forgive them for it. There was also a bit of mystery, a lot of steam, and a massive cliffhanger. I felt that ending in my fingertips and had flashbacks of a book by EM Moore.
Cannot wait till the next book comes out!

Loved It

This was such a great book! It was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster for me, but I just couldn't put it down and I ended up reading it in one sitting. I do believe this is my first time reading this author, but it certainly won't be my last.

Loved it!!!!

Such a great story!!!! Frankie is fantastic and each of the guys are interesting in their own unique way. I so enjoyed everything about this book! I love how the guys aren’t perfect and how Frankie accepts and deals with it. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
