Olive is a character we haven't really seen portrayed honestly and without cliches in books, but she is someone that is becoming increasingly familiar - a woman freely choosing not to have children. Gannon handles this with such aplomb, articulating the various complexities, worries, frustrations, and uncertainties so well.
