This book is indeed a treasure to Anna Sewell admirers and lovers of Black Beauty such as myself.I'm sure that before the publication of this book in 1971 that as the author states little was known of Anna or her life but here through a sympathetic touch and solid and through research , Mrs. Chitty brings the lady herself and her family to life.Or at least as much as it would be possible to do so nearly 100 years after her death.Often the woman herself is in the shadows of her famous, beloved bo ...more
