description I've really been enjoying this series. It has been pushing me outside my comfort zone, but the story is just so intriguing that I can't stop reading it. However, this book was a bit of a disappointment. I am relatively sure this series will be six books long, and this book was truly a filler book. It was slow. It was boring. It didn't have the same edge as the prior books, and frankly nothing much happened. That said, when one couple's story is spread out over so many books there is always inevitably one that falls short. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the next two (?) books recapture the excitement of the first three.

This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Nikki Rae!

Scorch
is the fourth book in The Order series and continues the story of Fawn, Elliot and Marius.

Scorch was yet another amazing and dark book by Nikki Rae. I really liked reading about Fawn and her two men again because I just love this series. I don’t know how to write all my feelings and thoughts down. That’s the effect Nikki Rae’s writing has on me. She’s just that good!

Like I mentioned in my review of Chrysalis, Fawn’s changed so much, even in Scorch she changed and became a stronger woman. I love the relationship between Fawn and Marius, it’s just so easy, in my opinion, whereas the relationship between Fawn and Elliot is a bit more complicated. But not complicated as in a bad way, I just don’t really know how to describe their relationship in one word. But it is clear that she loves both men.

Scorch was just everything that I needed. I love Nikki Rae’s writing and every time she writes a new book, I just have to read it! I cannot wait to read the next book in The Order series!

I liked the story line, but I feel as though it moved entirely too slow. I think it's being dragged out. She ran away, he found her. She ran away he found her. I don't think anything exciting happened until the end, and then it ends on a cliff hanger..

The plot continues to twist and turn in this series. Always keeps you on edge on what Fawn, Elliot and Marius is going to endure next. All of these characters have a past that have left them emotionally damaged, hurt and literally scarred but together they feel whole. The constant struggle to fight those who want to rip them apart, will leave you feeling their pain.

This series is definitely not for the faint at heart and it must be read in order as these are not standalone's. If you are not triggered easily and you enjoy a dark twisted read, then this is a great series to read. (note: cliffhanger advisory!)

" Scorch" by Nikki Rae is the fourth book in the "The Order" series. It' s a dark romance with BDSM, with angst, damaged and captive characters, and sex slaves. An overly intriguing book with inappropriate content for certain people.

Wow, that ending left me in shock, with my mouth open and stunned by the surprise I took. This series, every book I read, leaves me wanting to know much more. Although I could continue reading before, this time I've reached the last book published, and I'm dying to know what's going on with Fawn.

I hoped our love could withstand the storm I was about to unleash upon our House.

Again, it goes into Elliot and Fawn's relationship since Mr. B is gone. This relationship is a puzzle, they are fine when they are together, but in Fawn's case, her mind is a thousand different things, although everything remains practically the same as the previous ones.

I was the burning building. He’d just lit the fuse.

As for events not displeasing at all, the whole book is a set of changes for better or for worse, some will take their toll. What a rage to have to wait to read another book.
It' s honestly unbelievable how the author describes in such detail everything that happens around her, Fawn's feelings. Nikki Rae has the gift of writing.

Holly mother of all dark romances, Nikki Rae has ones again create a unbelievable dark and disturbed story.
When you love dark romances and never read Nikki's books, you're missing out on this unique story.
You're straightaway from the first page in the action that's following the last scene from Chrysalis (book #3).
I don't even know how to describe this book and all the dark and appalling stuff that this book describes.
It's not even the world of owners and slaves or the BDSM scenes that are a big part of this book. What is so never-ending sad, inhumane and tear-jerking, it's the heartbreaking struggle and emotional trauma, that the characters can't escape.
Even after they are not more enslaved, they don't feel free.
The sadness and nightmares that never stopped and after the terrible creepy things that happened to them, will probably never stop.
You can physically feel the pain and the struggle that they go through.
The way the author describes their feelings is unbelievable authentic.
Despite that Fawn has been through hell and back, she is adamant to save her new family. Even when it means she has to go back to her previous owner. Go back to the hell that she almost didn't survived.
This book describes the hopeless situation that the character can't escape without jeopardizing their lives.
I loved Marius and what he did for Fawn, but I'm not sure that I like Elliot very much after this book.
I don't understand his motives and lies.
This story ends with a cliffhanger that made me scream 🤦🏻‍♀️ I just hope the next book will be released soon 🤨
This book is the 4th in the Order series and continues where the last book finished.
You've to read the other books in series before this one!

I can't truly put into words the way these books make me feel. I've grown an attachment to these characters that has just latched itself on and won't let go. The Order series is a heart clenching, breath taking, soul riveting, intense rollercoaster into a world that will consume you whole. I ache for some break in all the madness and inhumanity that is unfortunately living and breathing and growing stronger. The emotions shared between Fawn and Elliot/Fawn and Marius/Marius and Elliot slice me deep. I hurt for Odette and the sacrifices she makes for the ones she loves and for the hope that everyone will finally be set free from it all. This is a dark journey that just keeps getting darker, deeper, and more delicious from one book to the next. I thirst for the next book and wish I could glimpse into Nikki Rae's mind so I can be free of the this tortuous wait for more!

Oh my goodness. The plot twist and ending had me shook 😵😭 I was not expecting that. Also my love for Fawn and Elliot and Marius grows more and more with every book in this series I read. I was very emotional where it's mentioned how we still carry the scars of things that are said and done to us in the past no matter how much time passes it doesn't always heal old wounds. That hit deep in my soul. How wounded these characters are and how much each has suffered at the hands of the monsters called The Order. Fabulous emotional read. Really tugged my heart strings while have the aura of mystery and suspense.

I have to say I really enjoyed this book more, for me it was due to it having the suspense and keeping you wanting to know what was going to happen next and you wanting to know you can Fawn trust. I also really liked how Fawn started to learn who she is in the world she lives in. Can’t wait for the next book in the series. I loved how this book flowed better than the last one.

Book 4 in The Order Series by Nikki Rae

🥀 When I say this book hurt, I mean this book HURT!! 😭 From beginning to end all I felt was pain & betrayal. This book starts off exactly where Chrysalis ends, with Fawn’s escape attempt and ends on a ruthless cliffhanger. The backstabs & the plot twists never stop & this book broke my heart!

🥀 Fawn will do anything to protect her family, even if that means lies & betrayal. The consequences of her failed escape are severe, which only brings her closer to her Transient Owner, Marius. But she will do it all over again and does - twice - if it means that her family & others will be safe from not only the Wolves, but all the Vultures.

🥀 And the love-hate relationship with Elliot is back. I absolutely hated him for the pain he caused Fawn for trying to escape, but I also felt for him because of the pain Fawn caused him by leaving. I hated his actions, but I understood them. Elliot really goes through it this time. He is trying to protect his family without losing them. Not only did Odette leave twice, Fawn also leaves, not twice, but three times.

🥀 They all have different ideas on how to protect each other, but in the end, will it be worth the destruction it causes in the process?

“In his mind, he thought he was doing the right thing, gutting me when I couldn’t run from the knife.”

AHHH NIKKI!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO US!!! THAT ENDING!!!

You guys! This series keeps getting better and better! Just when you think you know what's going to happen, there is a twist! I was genuinely shocked each time Elliot appeared in this book! I cant say I was mad when he did though. The story of each of the characters keeps intertwining and they keep growing on you. The spice is getting steamier and this book does end on a BRUTAL cliff hanger. On to the next book!!

This review was published on Lost in a Good Book

Note: I received a copy of this book for review.

I enjoyed this book, it went in a different direction than I was expecting but Rae still brings the passion and tension we’ve seen before.

There is a greater focus on the characters and their relationships this time around. Fawn’s relationship with Elliot and Marius is explored, but also the tension and issues of the previous novel are still simmering underneath. With the darkness of the earlier books, there is more comfort and compassion this time round. The connection between Fawn, Elliot and Marius evolves and you see different sides of their relationship. That is not to say it’s all love and passion, the deceit and danger that this world brings is there and I loved how Rae plays without your mind so you never know who to trust, who is right and who is telling the truth.

There are BDSM situations and the relationship dynamic of the trio we’ve come to know and love remains but there is consent and support and all of it plays into the emotional stakes of the overall situation. That is not to say the darkness Rae excelled at in earlier books is missing, but there is a different approach this time around and not as explicit.

I felt like this was very similar to parts of book three in that is halts the momentum slightly to explore more of the personal side. I don’t want to say it felt like a filler but there were moments that I thought were drawn out. But as the story continued I could see what Rae was trying to do; she lures us in and to her credit gives us a rewarding ending that was quite unexpected and a welcome surprise.

I’ll admit though, I’m impatient for the final showdown, I love seeing Fawn find herself and act with her bigger purpose in mind but there is certainly merit to Rae’s approach as we see more of Fawn’s state of mind, her growth, and the connections with those around her. Which is great for character development, but hard when you’re itching for the world to burn.

In true Rae style she brings surprises, lust, passion and pain in this fourth instalment. I can only imagine how this is all going to end because if it is anything like the previous four books, it’s going to be a fascinating tale of love, torture, and revenge.

The fourth installment of The Order Series, Scorch continues from where Chrysalis left off. Focused on character development and the interactions between the protagonists this book bleeds raw emotion and yet again I felt enthralled by the dark atmosphere that Nikki Rae created.

“At the age of nine, my eyes had been opened. If I wanted to survive now, I needed to close them again.”

Fawn has become such a strong heroine. I love how her character arc evolved. She is resilient and headstrong and determined to do anything for her loved ones, even if it means sacrificing herself for their safety. The relationship between her and Marius deepens, even more, they have a special connection and he always seems to be by her side in the most vulnerable moments. All the tenderness and care he shows towards Fawn, and their scenes together were utterly heartwarming.

“I like scars. They remind us of where we’ve been. What we’ve lived through. But we don’t have to relive it all the time.”

On the other hand, my heart broke for Elliot. I understood his actions and why he was being overly protective of Fawn after discovering a bit more of his past. But despite all the lies and deceive, their bond is still strong and the love they share seems timeless.

“He was the one who had accepted the role as my Owner, and that meant he knew what was best, always. Even when he was wrong.”

The plotline was gripping, keeping me on pins and needles until the last page. I felt the tension between Fawn and Elliot grow with every chapter and I anticipated a twist of events but it still shocked me when it happened. And that cliffhanger!? It made my head spin, and I have no idea how things will turn out in the end.

I am absolutely hooked on this story, it has me twisted in all the best ways, and I’m eager for more. If you like dark romances then I strongly recommend reading this series.

“I hoped our love could withstand the storm I was about to unleash upon our House.”

Scorch by Nikki Rae is the fourth book in the Order Series. We begin where we left off with Fawn’s life being balanced between success and betrayal. This was another amazingly dark book written by Nikki Rae where the characters of Fawn, Marius and Elliot are inextricably entwined. Fawn is an intriguing character in that she has an internal strength where she won’t give up, tries to do the right thing and still comes out on the other end with her own questions left unanswered. To say she has had a hard time is an understatement. Yet, the development of her relationship with Marius is a one of beauty and I really enjoyed the beauty/pain of their relationship in which they have been through so much both together and independently.

On the other hand, Elliot and Fawn’s relationship is really complicated and complex, it is like pulling a string in a knot and coming away with a different piece. In some ways I am always left feeling as though Elliot doesn’t truly understand Fawn and what she is willing to do to save her family. It sometimes feels like he is looking at her under a microscope but isn’t always confident in what he finds, especially when he tries to relate it back to his own captivity.

As always, this is a dark, emotional, sit on the edge of your seat book and it is certainly not for the faint hearted. Oh, it also ends with another cliff-hanger!

ARC received for a fair and honest review.

I enjoyed in this book we see the master position shift from Elliot to Marius.

You get to watch Marius and fawn's relationship blossom to the point she realizes she loves him. And dare I say it trusts him the most ?
Maybe that's why she continues to run away from Elliot ?

Fawn is faced with the choice of how to help her family in this book. But that's complicated when you have to go behind people's back and do things they aren't aware of I think you should read and find out how it plays out ...

Scorch ARC and the previous 3 books in The Order series were kindly provided by author for a review.

Ahh, I don’t even know where to start!

Scorch continues with the story of Fawn and her two master’s Elliot and Marius.
The past they thought was behind them catches up in this amazing dark fourth book of the series.

I loved reading about how Fawn and Marius’ relationship and how it continued to deepen. We saw Fawn growing even more, and becoming an even stronger woman. We got more of Marius and Elliot’s past and history and I think that revealed a quit a bit of why they are who they are.

Nikki Rae enchants you with her writing and makes you want to read more and more. I can’t wait for the next installment of the The Order!

I suppose old habits die hard, and secrets do eventually begin to take over again. Fawn, Elliot, Marius, and Odette are forced to face the question of how far they will go to survive. How much are they willing to sacrifice to save one another and bring The Order down?

The series continues to draw me in and keep me on my toes. Their relationships continue to adapt and change as the characters grow. With that said, I am fully terrified of what’s to come in the next book.

If you love drama at every turn then you will love this book! This whole series! Nikki creates a world full of betrayal that pulls at you heart strings at every page. Fawn struggles and fights through everything thrown her way. Shes owned by Master Lyon but she also has power with him.
The end!!! The end leaves you gasping wondering what happened! Be prepared for a heart wrenching cliffhanger!!

You can see that the author has had more experience by now and has improved their writing, it read smoother than the first couple books.

That said, this one dragged at a couple points. The whole book is about Doe trying to escape Master Lyon and then getting caught, and so on, and so on. While a lot of it felt like filler, the ending did make me excited to read the next book!

I’m giving it 3.5 stars this time, but I am excited to dive into the next book.

This newest continuation of The Order series has us examining what exactly makes up a family. We have 4 adults thrown together by fate and circumstances. We have an untenable situation that screams for resolution. They have hard choices to make. Stay or Go? Surrender or Run? Sacrifice for family or take care of yourself? Choices have been made....now we have to wait and see what happens...
