This short story anthology is based on the theme of what happens when someone breaks one of the Ten Commandments. There's alien gods demanding human sacrifices, vampirish creatures, and deranged liars and killers. Quite satisfying. Many admirable writers. When I finished the book, though, I simply felt that I'd read some entertaining horror stories, without gaining any theological or anti-theological insight. The Ten Commandments is just a device to pull the stories together into a single anthology.

This is not generally a genre that I read ever. But, I did read the whole book and it was enjoyable to read. Definitely a nice collection to get to see some of the newer authors out there.

This book is a horror short story collection exploring what could happen when each of the ten commandments are broken. I share a last name with one of the authors included in the collection, and although his story is great (just go and break commandment #9 and see what happens), I have to be honest and admit that one story on the breaking of #4 called "Wiggly People" was just perfect- short, and freaky creepy. Overall, the collection was a mixed bag. I think two of the stories received honorable mentions in the year's best horror/fantasy collection.
