Oo how the mighty have fallen ! Acton never fully understood why his fellow cyborgs had fallen hook, line and sinker for the Earth women but when he helps rescue Sage his safe , sanitary world implodes. Acton is possibly the most machine like of the House of Rone Gladiators but everything changes when a certain red head moves in.
Sage was a prisoner of the Edull and knows only too well the insidious danger they pose with their horrific robotic constructs. Now she's determined to find and sa

I loved this book!
Kresley Cole and Anna Hackett, two of my favorite authors that sometimes writes virgin heroes.

Hero Acton is a emotionless cyborg who always had a bewildered expression when his fellow Cyborgs fell in love with courageous Earth women! Like what the hell is all this hype about and finally he understood!

I loved both hero and heroine, they were a perfect match. They were friends first then each other’s support system and finally lovers!
The fighting scenes were will done as

The unfeeling cyborg Acton has finally fallen!!

I loved Acton and Sage’s story. They started out as friends but quickly realized they were attracted to each other. Acton helped Sage deal with depression and find her place, while Sage helped Acton find his feelings. I loved that they helped each other feel again.

The cyborgs locate an Edull creation facility and rescue more prisoners, including two new humans. Simmone and Grace were so badass, especially Grace, who is only 8. I can’t w

One of my favorite literary situations is when a seemingly emotionless individual gets all uptightly mushy about the person who ends up being their special someone. In this case, Acton is a cyborg with locked-down emotions and a logical way of looking at the world. Sage throws his life into glorious disarray and he kind of doesn't know what to do about it.

On her end, Sage puts on a brave face, but her time as a captive of the Edull has left its mark on her. The only time she feels sa

Sage is still traumatised from her time at the hands of the Edull. Living at House of Rone sure does wonders for a girls need for feeling safe! Add in that a certain big, buff, blank-faced Cyborg has made himself her personal watchdog? Well Sage could get used to that.

Acton wanted to pretend that he's this emotionless machine, but deep down he feels emotions. he's just not very clear on what specific onces they may be. He is seemingly indeifferent to all the chaos that the females fr

I read Centurion in bits and pieces, which was kind of surprising for a book that checks in at just under 250 pages and is written by an author I love in a series that I have enjoyed very much.

Nevertheless, I picked it up and liked what I read but just didn’t feel compelled to finish. But I had a relatively short airplane ride and no internet and there you go, book done.

Which leads me to write about why I didn’t feel compelled, why

When the heroine is more of a liability than an asset...

I love Anna and her writing . What can I say,I think she’s amazing an person and has a great imagination and I love than when I read her books I personally never need a trigger warning.. I know I’m getting strong and or interesting characters, nothing that happens in the way of violence is never too excessive ( maybe too much action and not enough down time at times). Drama yes, trauma no. By that I mean, the characters get drama and are t

It always feels like coming home

I love Carthago it's one of my very favorite places to read about and I always want no go back and visit. Anna Hackett never fails to deliver the best adventures and passionate love stories! Acton and Sage from the House of Rone is so worth the read. Acton a powerful cyborg who has managed to keep his emotions strictly under his control and dampened so that he feel !little to no emotion. With so many cybernetic parts in his body and his senses strongly damped, Acton was sure there was no man left to feel. Sage felt numb after had lived so much horror at the claws of the Edull. What were the odds that Acton and Sage, damage as they were, find one in each other what they needed to feel again? Finding the Edull and their slaves were the Gladiator’s houses priority and they joined forces for the mission, but would that be enough? Action, suspense, adventure, lives at stake, strong f ...more

Cyborg thrills and chills!
House of Rone is once again on the hunt for humans in the hands of the evil Edull. I love Acton! He’s so sure he can’t feel emotions, even though Sage stirs them up in him. He watches her every reaction to determine how she is feeling. Sage is such a soft-hearted sweetie! She’s so good with the kids, so gentle with Acton as she explores her attraction. She may be a gentle soul, but heaven help anyone who threatens those she cares about! We see some amazing feats as

Acton and Sage

This KU library selection is a great addition to the Galactic Gladiators: House of Rone series. Acton was stolen from his home planet and turned into a cyborg before his transport crashed on Carthago and he joined the House of Rone. His emotions were dampened and he is sure he has no feelings, until they rescued Sage in the previous book. Now he wants to protect her from harm. He's never understood how the other cyborgs changed because of the human women who came into their li

This is a great addition to the series and I really enjoyed watching Acton come to life, emotionally. Sage and he are a great couple, each with a dark history. Together, they work to rescue more humans and end up falling in love, despite the difficult situations they end up in. So many things make this a gripping read: action, adventure, suspense, strong female characters, fascinating cyborgs, a ton of strange creatur

Book three of the Galactic Gladiators: House of Rone series a well written story that kept me turning pages. This series just gets better with each new series and I know I want to read the next book. This is paramedic Sage McAlister who was rescued from the Edull and Acton Vonn the cyborg she comes to love. Acton does not believe he can feel anything for anyone. Their story has suspense, drama, action, danger, evil, robots, and love. I recommend this book. I read a copy through K.U. and I am volu ...more

This book has everything I love; humor, action, aliens, high tech & low tech, suspense, twists, strong female characters, sexy male characters, and romance. Ms. Hackett is amazing in her ability to make each story unique while staying true to the exciting world she has created. If you love Sci-Fi/Action Romance, grab one of her books...or grab them all! Another hit!

Awesome, outstanding. I loved this book. You can't do better than love and adventure all in one. It was amazing how both Sage and Acton learned to deal with their emotions. One of my favorite things about the Gladiators is that they are all one big happy family. Always ready to help each other. If only the real world would catch up. I would highly recommend this book to anyone. Can't wait for Toren and Someone's story.

Fast paced and interesting

I loved this addition to the Galactic Gladiators series! Seeing Acton learn emotions and Sage overcome her fears was a fast paced page turner, holding my attention and interest. The unexpected twists certainly helped, as did the steamy scenes. All in all, awesome story! My only complaint: Mrs Hackett is not a cyborg herself, and therefore must write at human speed. I REALLY want Toren’s story!

Sage Kick starts Acton's Heart

Sage is recovering, learning how to live free. Acton is learning how to feel, fighting to go back to not feeling again. But Sage decides to take a chance on Acton and teach him to "feel". Love this author and series. A lot of action, lots of love and interesting trips to intriguing parts of the planet. Can't wait to read about the next big bad unfeeling cyborg to fall for and earth woman.

Never ending adventure

This newest installment in the Galactic Gladiators series was a never ending adventure that was loaded with all the feels! Which is a bit of irony since Acton, is a cyborg who has been using his emotional dampeners to block out all of his emotions. Recently rescued Sage is there bringing it all back for him. Together they are a fierce couple that are trying to find their way. Loved this book! Always eager for the next one!

Great Book!

What a fun, interesting, and fast-paced book! I loved Sage, Acton, and all the other characters. The storyline is great. It's packed full of action, danger, and some heat. This is the first book I've read in this series, but I didn't feel lost at all. I plan to go back and check out not only the books in this series, but also Hackett's other books.

House of Rone is in danger of being called "House of Romance, Cyborg Style"!

Just kidding, Anna Hackett. Seriously, these exciting novels are packed with highly imaginative plots and sf heavy battles pitting cyborg and human heroes/heroines against all manner of evil aliens while turning up the heat amongst uniquely
compatible couples who find love amidst the battle arenas.
