Ah, So, That Got Weird is such a light-hearted read! As a helpless romance-novel-lover, Amelia Kingston really knows how to grip a reader's heart. I love the way the protagonists, Elizabeth Wilde and Austin Jacobs, meet for the first time, and the way Elizabeth's the first to proposition offer Austin such a genius business proposal: to be her personal sex tutor. Yep, you heard it right. She asks him to teach her all that jazz about sex,

OMG, I love this book! It’s so freaking good! Funny, smart and sexy with a gorgeous NA romance, I was so entertained and I adored every single moment!

Elizabeth Wilde is a 21-year-old college senior who is, in a word, “weird”. She is awkward and clumsy, has little social life outside of online gaming, and she has no experience when it comes to men. Like… zero. And not for lack of trying. She needs help, so she turns to her campus’s hottest playboy, football star, Austin Jacobs.

This is the first book by Amelia Kingston that I have read, and it will most certainly not be my last. I LOVED this book. I loved the storyline, adored the characters and from the moment I started, I could not put it down.

Elizabeth is a senior in college and has little experience in the sex department. Actually, little is probably a bit of an overstatement, because her experience is basically non-existent. She has always been considered to be a little weird, odd if

So I was lucky enough to get to read this earlier this year as a beta reader/critique partner, and when I saw that it was getting published I immediately had to sign up and read the finished story. And just like when I read it before, I loved it. The characters, the banter, the emotion, all of it was great.
And it wasn't just those things, I loved the sexy times as well! I loved the main character Elizabeth, I really could connect with her on the nerdiness and awkwardness. And then there's

“A painfully awkward love story”

That opening line from the description was the hook, because I appear to have a fondness for awkward love stories lately and this one definitely delivered! It is all kinds of adorkably awkward goodness with a lot of heart and all the feels one could ask for.

I ADORED Elizabeth. Yes, she is all kinds of awkward, but there is a fierceness to her that doesn’t allow her to just fade away. She is sassy, sweet and I really liked the way her

So, That Got Five Stars From Me!

I loved Goose and Mav! There is such a great vibe all through this book that I just couldn't put it down. Perfect mix of humor, heat and feels.
I also loved all the co characters and am thrilled to find out that Jessie will be getting her own book!
This is the 2nd book by Amelia Kingston that I've had the pleasure of reading and she really is a talented dark horse.

You are shitting me. A lifetime? At 21? With that math, she will be an old birdie by 33 and dead by 35. What a time to be alive. *sigh* I give up...

I loved loved loved this book! The premise gave me pause... shy, nerdy heroine pays a college jock with an abundance of sexual prowess to teach her - well- how to have sex ...I'm thinking 'Is this going to feel to forced? Am I going to open this book and the heroine magically morphs into some sex-goddess? Is this insta-love on steroids?' But Amelia Kingston is absolutely freaking brilliant and wove an absolute page-turner that kept me laughing (and practically sweating my makeup off) through ...more

4 1/2 Entertaining Stars!

What fun refreshing storyline . Kind of a YA read, yet still full of adult feels and romantic.
Elizabeth was socially inept, shy, and quirky. Born into wealth but emotionally starved and abused by her not so well meaning parents. Her comfort zone was her nerdy computer world but she longed for real connection.
I liked the way Austin was socially adept but equally starved and emotionally stunted. These two made an awkward but totally sweet and sexy couple as they slowly

After hearing about this book and reading the synopsis I knew it was one I needed to get my hands on ASAP.

Holy Cow!!!!! If I could give more than 5 stars then this book would definitely earn them. From the very moment I started reading it drew me in and didn't let me go. Pretty much everything you could want in a story is here. There is drama and suspense on top of the AMAZING off the charts chemistry between the characters. I was feeling ALL of my feels throughout this story.

So, That Got Weird checked off all of my reading wish list requests. It is full of witty moments, has a ton of heart, and contains lots of smexy time to steam up your reading device or burn your book pages through the night.

While the central theme is having football jock Austin Jacobs help an intellectually awkward Elizabeth Wilde (I love the ironic name btw) out of her socially awkward shell and into her sexual goddessness, the underlying theme is really intimacy.

Elizabeth is a college student who is more comfortable with her online gaming persona and the friends she makes there then meeting people in person. After her last date ends in humiliating fashion she decides the best solution is to hire a fellow student who is her complete opposite to teach her not only social skills but relationship skills as well.

Austin is a football player who is a little taken back when Elizabeth approaches him but he is drawn to her as well. What starts out as a way to

What a great way to start the year!
I love everything about this book. The cover caught my attention first, but then I fell in love with the story.
I admit being a bit picky to give 5 stars rating but with this book, I had to. When I feel butterflies, sigh and my heart beats faster we have a winner! And Austin confession in the last part... oh my heart!!!
Elizabeth is so likable. I felt her pain, I know what it is to feel you don't belong. You want to be her friend and support her. Austin is just

This was such a lovely story about Elizabeth who is awkward when it comes to love and boyfriends, to say the least. It was lovely and very funny at times to read about how she navigates through dating. This was my first read from this author and I will most definitely read some more. 5 stars. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Compelling, engaging and not a light read. The characters have depth and their jagged edges are a perfect match in this somewhat YA story.

So That Got Weird is book 1 in the So Far, So Good series by Amelia Kingston. This is a totally funny, sweet, sexy book that focuses on introverted nerd, Elizabeth Wilde who is desperate for some sex-pert advice and guidance when it comes to the opposite sex. A twenty one year old gamer who puts a capital A in awkward, Elizabeth sets out to find out how to come out of her shell, gain more confidence and become the sex kitten we know that she initially is…even if she is a little bit odd and she ...more

Gamer meets hot jock

I absolutely LOVED this story! It was such a great mismatch (on paper) of lead characters, but they were also so perfect for each other!

Elizabeth is a 21 year-old student, and an avid gamer, who is socially awkward (to say the least), but is also desperate for love, connection and intimacy. And well, because of her awkwardness, she makes the decision that she really needs help… like a sex tutor!

Enter Austin… a hot jock, and a campus sex god. He’s had his heart

This book!! Yes!! It was set up to be your standard shy girl needs to be brought out of her shell by the hot sexy popular jock but it turned out to be so much more than that.
Elizabeth is a shy, awkward introvert who doesn’t know how to handle herself in social situations, craving emotional connection after a tough upbringing. Her safe zone is within her computer game world so she decides she needs to step out of it and proposition star football player Austin for his tutoring skills, social and

**I received this ARC in exchange for an honest voluntary review** OMG does this story hold up to it's tag of "painfully awkward" in the beginning. It was getting to the point where I almost gave up on it but I powered through & found a fantastic story. Elizabeth is looking to get out of her shell & lose her V card. She practically lives online through her gaming so who better to turn to than the Internet for help. There, she finds "sex God of her university" & corner back footballer ...more

This is an opposites attract kind of romance. (But they have more in common then they thought.) He comes from a life of drugs and neglect and she comes from a life of wealth and privilege. Both come from loveless homes. He doesn't believe in love and she doesn't believe she's worthy enough to be loved. Sounds like a match made in heaven. Her character is awkward, or in her words 'Weird.' She is smart and spends most of her time gaming. That is home to her. Her safe haven. She isn't really ...more

I really enjoyed this book. The main characters, Austin & Elizabeth, were developed beautifully. The emotional connection between them was real, raw, and, at times, primal. The secondary characters, whether they were loved or hated, definately served a purpose. Perhaps one or two may find their way into a future book, who knows. Anyway, there were sections throughout that I felt were dragging, too over explained, or were missing.

Austin is an athlete with impressive 'social skills' those

At first I was thinking oh man! I don’t know if I can handle this extremely painful awkwardness, but I’m glad I persisted because I ended up loving the rest of the story. Elizabeth and Austin have a sexy, sweet connection. They have some good passion between them and complement each other well. There’s some fun humor, and I enjoyed the gamer aspect. Elizabeth is socially awkward; she is very quirky and is sort of a nerd, so she’s having a tough time dating. She’s 21 and ready to be rid of her ...more
Elizabeth is the definition of anxiety. God, she is so relatable (maybe a bit extreme) but I could definitely relate to it during my awkward phase (or am I still in my awkward phase?). Their conversations killed me with laughter (not that it's very hard to make me laugh) but usually it's a smile or chuckle but this made me full on laugh (it was very late at night so whoops). This was so good and perfect in my eyes until the author pulled a cliche (view spoiler) ...more

Elizabeth is awkward. She is sweet and nerdy, but boy does she not know how to deal with social situations and that makes her SUPER awkward and a virgin. When she realizes that she will not be able to do this on her one, she decides to get help in the form of manwhore jock Austin. But Austin is not just a manwhore, he is actually a pretty awesome guy and the more Elizabeth spends around him, the more she starts to realize that. There is no way a guy like that could possible want the awkward ...more

Nerdy gamer Elizabeth is looking for some experience with men and offers a “business “proposal” to jock Austin to spend one month tutoring her on how to act with men and ultimately have sex. I have read this trope before and it’s always fun to watch the transformation from teaching to love. Elizabeth and Austin’s story added a little more angst than usual since they both have some pretty serious issues from growing up that make them both question that love is real. The chemistry is immediate and ...more

This book was a fun and easy read with an interesting story line that was similar yet different to other shy girl/jock guy story lines that I have read. I enjoyed that Elizabeth was a gamer, immersed in a world that many inhabit but few really understand. In wanting to be "normal" and "sexy" she looks for a tutor that can help her. And she chooses jock extraordinaire Austin. Austin needs the money and agrees to Elizabeth's hair brained scheme equip with a syllabus for how he should work through ...more
