In the author's note at the end of this short story, he tells the reader that he dreams of lagoon creatures. I also dream of water dwellers, some fish-like and others mammalian, so I was instantly attracted to the theme of this story. It is about a man who joins the crew of a fishing and crabbing boat in Alaska. What they encounter is far from mammalian. I enjoyed the story and its fast pacing, but it ended too quickly for me.
