Spooky reverse harem that bends the tropes...

Weird. Creepy. Frumpy. Boyish. At the young age of twenty-nine, reluctant necromancer Esper Jones is an outcast, labeled “the old witch on the hill” and avoided by all sane residents of the tiny village of Hellsfork Michigan. And that’s just fine with her. Dealing with people has all the appeal of poking her own eyes out.

What caught my eye about this one was how the author described it as not your typical Reverse Harem read. That's definitely true and it's probably my favorite part of the book. While still following some of the common tropes in the urban fantasy, paranormal romance and reverse harem genres, this book was quite unique as well as it differed in a lot of ways too.

Ghostromance follows the story of Esper. Esper basically fits the old witch on the hill image, except she's not that old yet, she's in
Ever felt like your usual urban fantasy heroine wasn't rude enough? Well fear not, because this oddball necromancer has her snarkray set from stun to slay. Expect swearing, sex and secret pasts in what reads like a fast-n-furious pilot episode or a paranormal romance/cozy mystery.

Meet Esper, your less than average necromancer protagonist. She's 29, single, dresses funny and hates pretty much everybody. That is until one day she meets a pretty boy, nearly gets killed by the shadowy folks who've

I probably shouldn’t have read this so close on the heels of Draper’s previous reverse harem series, Gesa’s Menagerie. I prefer Gesa as a character to Esper, but that doesn’t mean anything is necessarily wrong with Esper. I got a bit tired of her “Woe is me, I’m so ugly” ruminations, but otherwise she’s a great representation of a woman who knows what she wants out of life and doesn’t care much for anyone (even her best friend) who might think it’s atypical.

I also appreciate the modern

Nice and well written series. Each book, while short, is well balanced and have its own ending. The characters are interesting and growing well.
Only bad thing is the price x page of second and third book, i read the three books in less than 4 hours, in total. That's how short the books are. I was expecting a lot more pages with the increased price.

Really interesting

This was so unusual but so interesting! I really enjoyed it. I liked how the author had a completely different spin on the characters' appearances and characteristics. Can't wait to read the next one!

Adult. Supernatural. Rh. 1/? That was very interesting indeed. The characters are marvelous. And the story is entertaining. How many times can I say interesting? I really liked it. Definitely reading the next one.
