With three rambunctious, young children, Melanie Lombardi can’t see beyond the day-to-day struggle to maintain her home and her sanity since her husband’s sudden death. A second chance at romance isn’t on her radar.

Brian Perella is done with dating, resigned to being the fun uncle and never the dad. Until he meets Melanie and her brood of lively kids on the sid

When I first returned to the church in the late 1980’s I went to the Christian book store and really wish there had been a book like this back them. I am not the target audience for this book, but it is so masterfully written I could not put it down. I read through my lunch two days in a row, and almost missed my stop on the bus home because I was so engrossed in the story. It is literally a page turner. This was the third novel by Carolyn Astfalk that I have read this year, I have also read her ...more

**I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher for consideration. All thoughts are 100% my own.

First and foremost, this book is unlike any others in the Christian fiction/romance genre that I have ever read. MOST books in that particular genre tend to steer clear of any type of sexual discussion at all. Maybe a brief hint here or there, but it's certainly not an overwhelming topic anyway. As a Christian reader, I certainly appreciate this. However, if we were to be

There's not a mom with children who hasn't wondered what would happen to her if she were widowed. In All in Good Time, Melanie is in that situation, and she meets Brian. Both are damaged, but together they bind their wounds to create a happy ending. The author nails what it is like to have young children in this engaging story.

Can you say “block out 18 hours, because you won’t want to put this down”? I started it on a Friday and just. kept. going. (The dog, it should be noted, kept going with me.)

Astfalk has that effect on me, though. Interestingly, she’s a Catholic author, and her books are very Theology of the Body focused, BUT YOU MIGHT NEVER KNOW IT.

That’s the part I love.

You can just pick up this book, read it, love it, and know that (a) no smut, (b) morals are in line with you

Thank you in advance to JustRead Publicity Tours, Multa Verba publishers, and the author Carolyn Astfalk for providing a review copy. A positive review was not required, all words and thoughts are my own.

Told from dual POVs (Melanie and Brian), “All in Good Time” is a Christian Romance/Christian Fiction book about recently widowed mom, Melanie Lombardi. With her three rambunctious children, she struggles with the simple and mundane day-to-day tasks. Romance is definitely not on the horizon or r

The characters in this story feel so real. So three-dimensional. They have strengths and weaknesses, hopes and dreams, and face trials and challenges that many can relate to, especially in our contemporary culture.

Brian Perella loves kids and has wanted to be a husband and father, but he has yet to find “the one” and he’s almost given up. Then one day, it seems God has dropped the woman of his dreams—Melanie Lombardi—into his lap! He’s a solid character and he’s great with kids, but he’s not su

This is the first book that I've read by this author. I heard about it in a christian fiction reviewers group and decided to try the book. Carolyn crafted a story that I think brought up important topics. It had romance themes, family struggles with death and illness. Showing a single parent and their struggles I thought was relevant. Addressing pornography within the story was important and interesting. It all started with Brian finding a computer at work that had pornography on it. Then we lea ...more

I was surprised at the deep themes that were included in this story! I will include a trigger warning on this one, since it deals with a character who has been addicted to pornography, though is doing his best (with God's help) to over come it. I thought that the author did an excellent job of dealing with subjects like pornography addiction, widowhood, and raising young children as a single parent. I could relate to the feelings of embarrassment that Melanie has, as most parents will! I enjoyed ...more

Carolyn Astfalk's novel is packed with relatable characters who aren't too good to be true, and that's refreshing in the world of romance novels, where everyone's young, successful, and great-looking. These characters struggle, and their kids make messes, so it all feels true to life. Melanie, a widow with 3 little kids, meets Brian at her son's baseball game. Brian has sworn off dating, but he changes his mind after spending some time with Melanie. But his long-kept secret threatens their relat ...more

I thoroughly enjoyed this new novel which includes a little bit of everything: romance, suspense and a subject many books wouldn’t tackle with a ten-foot pole: pornography. The author’s writing style, well-developed characters and believable situations kept me reading until the wee hours of the morning. Highly recommend!

This was a funny, tender, and thoughtful novel about a young widow with three children who dates a young bachelor who wants to be true to his Catholic faith, but who struggles with some sexual deviance issues he's had. I laughed out loud at several situations that involved the innocence of children or of dating...or of dating with children.

I loved this story! Well rounded characters with serious conflicts, both internal as well as external. Vivid details made the story come alive. Well done.

Brian Perella is admittedly a serial dater. Most women don't get past the first date, but those that do rarely develop into a real and serious relationship. He's done with dating and lays it all out before the Lord. When God seems to answer his prayer in an almost literal fashion, he seems to be afraid to believe that single mom Melanie Lombardi might feel the same way about him.

As Brian slowly pursues his relationship with Melanie he has to come to terms with a vice that has gripped
