In this book, Aaric’s brother, Victor Drakon, who was awaken mistakenly, has a chip on his shoulder from what happened to him over a century ago. He is determined to get his revenge, embezzle money from his family, and leave. Fortunately he comes up against a few roadblocks namely, Aaric, Cheryl, Thralls and Vampires, oh my!

I've been reading the Shifter Series that this author has put forth, this is the second book in the Draconis sub-series. In a word, AMAZING! We get to meet Victor Drakon and Aaric's little brother. He meets Cheryl, who's a dead ringer for the woman who broke his heart and stole all his wealth before he went into a century sleep. Cheryl's the project manager of the center that Aaric wants to build for the future of the Drakon family when the rest awaken. This book was exciting from the beginning ...more

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Well, the Vampires are back, that much Victor now has realized after he and his mate have been attacked at the construction site.
I've to admit I'm a little disturbed about his name - I would have guessed his name started with an "A". Anyway, the end of the story seems a little rushed - so you never get to know how the meeting with Cheryl's parents went and more important - how the next Dragon is to be awoken... Nevertheless it's a ama

Oh boy! I can't get enough of this series and everything just seems to be getting more dire. Now it's the dragons' turn. If you haven't read the previous stories by Riley Storm, it's ok as this stands alone. However, some things will make more sense once you read those. Start with the bears. You will not be disappointed. This one now has the first dragon back in ages and there's the suspense, the attraction, and these dire circumstances that have you on the edge the whole time you are reading. I ...more

In this book, newly awakened water dragon shifter Victor Drakon is asked to work on a construction project with project manager Cheryl Anders. As soon as these two meet sparks fly and Victor is unable to put his nefarious plans into action because Cheryl is there to stop him. A great addition to the High House series. This is the second following the Draconis House. From the start Victor has some serious issues he needed to sort out. But instead of using a level head, he just blames everyone else. Cheryl was expecting to finish the deal that would help the town and community. But instead she got the jerk, Victor. The tension between these two sky rockets as they try not to kill each other. But there’s a greater evil out there that will put their spat to shame. Expect ...more

Excellent paranormal contemporary romantic suspense. Victor was awakened by his older brother and his mate. Victor was very angry and forced to work with a descendant if the witch that humiliated him in front of his clan. Cheryl is trying to help the town recover but butts heads with Victor. Cheryl, a city planner, and Victor, a water Dragon shifter, certainly didn’t have a very good view of each other when they first met. He blamed her for stealing that her great ancestor had done. They have many problems and a huge fight with vampires that shift to overcome in their search for a HEA. Good story in this book two of the High House of Draconis and Plymouth Falls. Good enemies to lovers read!

Grudge...

Talk about holding a grudge! Victor would probably win any contest for the longest one held. While I enjoyed this story, I haven't read book one and felt I was missing a few details. I plan on remedying that fact but suggest anyone else read them in order for the best enjoyment.

Cheryl works for the Plymouth Falls Town Council and is responsible for projects around Plymouth Falls. Victor is a water dragon and now responsible for the latest project for the Drakon clan. As soon as he sees Cheryl, he is stunned, and determined to fight her all the way with the project. Why does he hate her so much? Great story, loved it.
