Perceived by the town to be the proverbial bad apple that didn’t fall far from the family tree, Dayna Dalton never got a break. In love with a man who has always been off limits, the spirited small town reporter can’t seem to find a man to capture her heart, no matter how many she goes through.

When strange things begin to happen in town and Dayna is witness to one of them, but ordered not to write a story that could make her job worthwhile, but why can’t she report the truth?

Welcome to Brit Lunden’s THE DEVIL AND DAYNA

Dayna peered at her reflection in the mirror. She was sick of her life.
Dayna Dalton is used to be looking down on. Her mother, Becky, was called...free spirit at best and a loose woman at worst.

Dayna never knew her father because of that, the whole town has had their eyes on her since the beginning.
"Have you no shame?"
So what if she has a crush on the (married) town sheriff? So what if she's had casual sex? SO WHAT?

And yet, there's a part of her that's beginning to believe all t

The Devil and Dayna Dalton (Book 9) A Bulwark Anthology is a short, novella from the pen of author Brit Lunden. Dayna Dalton is known as what we might colloquially call, “trailer trash”. She grew up in Bulwark, Georgia and like her mother had gained an unfair (in her case) reputation as the town slut. From an early age, Dayna had designs on the gorgeous Clay Finnes but all through High School, Clay seemed impervious to her charms, placing her fair

I love the latest installment of The Bulwark Anthology! The Devil and Dayna Dalton (Book 9) A Bulwark Anthology by Brit Lunden delves deeper into the life of small town reporter, Dayna Dalton. Dayna is originally introduced in Brit Lunden's first book, Bulwark, and makes cameo appearances within other stories in the Bulwark Anthology.

In this book, the reader learns more about Dayna's trialed past. As her life begins to unravel before her eyes, a stranger enters the scene, and Dayna is given the opportunity to experie

‘The devil is in the details’ – German proverb

For a famous author of children’s books to take on the nom de plume Brit Lunden in order to switch to adult novels, it seems impolite to praise her as Carole P. Roman. But the lady knows this world of literature and has written guides to assist new authors in the intricacies of Indieworld publishing, and she includes that beautiful photograph of her warm countenance on this site, offering those of us who have followed her rise in stature

The Devil and Dayna Dalton is the ninth book in  A Bulwark Anthology series by Brit Lunden. While this is a part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone novel. A fast-paced novella that is sure to leave you wanting more. I feel that the story would have flowed smoother if the story was longer giving the characters and storyline more time to develop. This is a thoroughly enjoyable read. * I received a complimentary copy from RABT Book Tours and the author in exchange for an honest and u ...more

Small towns don't give people a break and Bulwark, Georgia is no exception! Mo matter how she tries she can not rid herself of her Mom's reputation. Not that Dayna is any better truth be told--but she actually wants to be. She has had a major crush on Clay Finnes forever and he still remains just a friend. None of the other men in town can seem to satisfy or make her happy. There are always strange happenings surrounding a slimy pond of water that appears and disappears. She is told by her old b ...more

This is the first of the Brit Lunden books that I've read, and I found it thoroughly enjoyable. It's a fast read--113 pages, in all--and it moves along at a fast pace. As a writer myself, besides "watching" the story unfold, I thoroughly enjoyed how the author developed the characters, especially that of Becky Dalton.

You will NOT be disappointed.

The twists and turns will keep you guessing to the end. This was a great follow-up to a character in the original novel, Bulwark. Very well done.

A deal with the devil has never been so enticing.

Dayna Dalton can’t catch a break in Brit Lunden’s latest, The Devil and Dayna Dalton (Chelshire): Her boss won’t give her a chance except when he’s hitting on her for the millionth time; her evil babysitter from childhood has moved in next door, and the man she’s been in love with since high school is married and doesn’t want to be anything more than friends.

Dayna isn’t really living, she’s just surviving, as she sleeps wit

I can relate to the romantic yearning and frustration that Dayna Dalton feels in this book. The devil is something I have always associated with being an evil force, but the author gives the devil an alluring romantic quality that I find unique. Two of the characters in this book are presented in one way in the beginning of the book, but toward the end of the book, they are presented differently. I love the change that Brit Lunden gives the characters of Sheriff Clay Finnes and Mrs. Sweetpea. Th ...more

The Devil and Dayna Dalton is the ninth book in A Bulwark Anthology series by Brit Lunden. A young adult fantasy novella that is sure to leave you wanting more. I did not read the previous novellas and found this to easily be read as a standalone novella. The characters are well written and develop at a steady pace as the storyline unfolds. * I received a complimentary copy from RABT Book Tours and the author in exchange for an honest and unbiased review..*

I liked this short book very much. I identified with Dayna very much in many ways. I still long for love everyday.

'The Devil and Dayna Dalton' is a paranormal romance novella from the Bulwark series. I've never read any of the other books in this series, but I don't think it mattered that much. It would've been cool to already know some of the characters and the town's history, but it wasn't crucial to my enjoyment of the story. It was well written with great attention to detail and vivid imagery that brought Dayna's world to life right in front of me. I thought that the characters were okay at best. Dayna, ...more

This is a short read but it is totally filled with a story that will grip you and won't let go until that ending that will make you want to go read the entire series, all over again!

Dayna Dalton never had a good childhood being the daughter of a wild child and it appears that Dayna is following in her mama's footsteps in a bad way. All Dayna ever wanted in life was the Sheriff Clay Finnes but he didn't she her as anything more than a friend. Only when Dayna sees wolf's that no one el

Brit Lunden is a prolific author who’s written over 50 books in assorted genres under different pen names. Bulwark was her first effort in adult fiction and was chosen by several of her fellow authors as the basis for a new series, A Bulwark Anthology. Using her characters, they are creating new denizens in spin-off stories to this bizarre town. Brit Lunden lives on Long Island in a house full of ...more
