This is one of those hard to review books...
There is nothing I can really complain about but there is nothing I can really rave about either.
It was cute...and funny...and easy.
One thing is for sure, you'll have to enjoy kiddo's because Liam is definitely a third MC.
And I do love kids. And I thought he was a trip!
I actually liked all of the characters.
I guess I'm waffling because nothing extraordinary happened.

Sometimes you just want a lovely, no angsty, story about two people meeting, liking each other, and falling in love.

Vicki Locey delivers that in spades with this book which just had me smiling from start to finish as she wove a really simple, beautiful romance between Mike and ice hockey goalie Bryn.

But, before you start to think that this would be a tad boring let's just say the bedroom action adds enough spice to make it anything but.

Mike is surprised to find

Well this was just full of warm fuzzies and sweet fun...

The second to last thing that Mike Kneller ever expects to happen is that super sexy Bryn Mettler, superstar goalie for the Pittsburgh Ravens, Mike’s absolute favorite hockey team would read his blog because the absolute last thing he could imagine happening would be that said super sexy goalie would want to date him.

Bryn’s got no illusions that he’s leading a charmed life, but that doesn’t stop him from wanting just one more thing…someone to

This story is sweet and funny and fluffy and warm - the kind of contemporary romance fantasy that you sometimes need after a hard day or an angsty read. There's no drama, just an out gay hockey player with supportive teammates falling for a gay blogger who lives with his sister and precocious, hilarious 4-year-old nephew.

A little poignancy in the backstory gives it a hint of depth, and the characters are fun to watch. There's some heat, some family friction, some hockey, a few tantru
This is a fully enjoyable, sweet, low angst romance with wonderful courting between two kind heroes.

We get the fun of a hockey romance with two out heroes mixed in with a charming little kid.

I could read this little gem over and over. If you are looking for a low angst delight, pick this one up!

V.L. Locey is rapidly becoming my one-click author. I go after this writer’s work as soon as I see it offered and this little romantic gem was not a mistake to pursue. This is a no angst, sweet story that is all about finding the perfect one and falling in love. It features what I think is the most adorable and humorous child character, Liam, that has ever graced the page. It’s obvious right away that this author knows precocious four-year olds and how their mind

I always get a warm, contented feeling from a story by this author and this one’s no exception. We have two very likeable leading men here, Mike and Bryn, who live ultimately very different lives with Bryn being a pro-Hockey player with the attention and adoration that that job brings, and Mike, a web designer, happily running a blog and being an almost surrogate father to his sister’s son, Liam. Both of these men are at a point in their lives where they’re craving the same thing: a genuinely ni ...more

Mike is happy helping his sister raise his nephew Liam. It doesn’t matter that they have a plumber on speed dial. Liam’s hero is Captain America and many of Caps friends are responsible for the mayhem that circles around him. Mike thinks he will probably just help with Liam forever. Knowing no man will want to be tied to someone who has to put his family first.

Mike meets his hockey idol Bryn Mettler. The goalie is truly a nice person and when they start dating, they both fall fast. T

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is just a fun book from the very first page. It is positive, life affirming and hugely entertaining. I pretty much read it straight through, because it was just too good to put down.

Mike is a really good guy, and definitely deserves a fairy tale romance - little did he ever imagine he would get one, but thanks to his blog and videos of life with his nephew Liam, he gets to meet his hockey crush Bryn. As the unexpected ha

Ever since I discovered the Railers series that V.L. wrote with R.J. Scott, I knew I needed to read everything they co-authored; it was pretty much a given that I’d love most of their stories. So now whenever I come across a book by V.L. on any site I’m looking at (Facebook, GoodReads, Twitter, etc.) I almost always go, “I NEED THIS!”

So after reading the blurb for Life According to Liam, I knew I would more than likely love this book. What’s not to love? I mean, there’s hot hockey players, a fu

Wow, this is a new book. I didn't even notice 😂

Overall a good book. I liked Bryn especially. Michael's internal (and sometimes external!) commentary was pretty funny.
Distinct top and bottom roles, which is a plus for me. I thought it was maybe a bit obvious how many times the author made a point of saying how inclusive their family is etc. I think authors can often miss the benefits of subtlety and inference... stating the obvious doesn't always add points to the mental interest colum

Mike stepped in to help his sister Kelly when she was pregnant. They share a house and Mike takes care of his nephew Liam when Kelly is working. Mike has a blog where he chronicles their adventures with Liam, including their mutual admiration of the local hockey team's goalie, Bryn Mettler. Mike's blog is a source of fun for him and eventually leads him to actually meeting Bryn.

I really liked this one. It had me chuckling and smiling at numerous points, usually

I loved the setup for this story, and how the author made it so believable. Both Mike and Bryn are nice guys who have convinced themselves they’ll never find Mr Right, and I loved that never of them gives up who they are as a person to fit into the other’s world and life.

One of the things that drew me to the genre of contemporary hockey romance is the feeling that the team is family, and that is a big part of this story. I loved the banter between Bryn and his team, and they way they all gather

I loved this sweet and sexy love story.

V.L. Locey has really out done herself with the last few solo books she's released and Life According to Liam is one of those. I really enjoy the hockey romance books that she does with RJ Scott but I also enjoy reading the ones that are not focused on hockey quite as much.

Life According to Liam does have a hockey player as one of the MCs but the story much more revolves around the relationship and love story between web designer Mik

I love every single second of VL Locey's Life According to Liam.

Mike runs a blog called "Life According to Liam," highlighting fun things his four year old nephew says. Mike's a hockey fan who gets lucky when he meets hockey star Bryn Miller. After Mike writes a post about Bryn, the hockey star contacts him. It's a sweet story idea, and it's carried out perfectly.

Omg, this VL Locey tale is just wonderful; as charming as can be. I love it. Every single moment.

I laughed myself silly with this book.

Michael is a blogger/Vlogger who has his younger sister(Kelly) and 4 year old nephew(Liam) living with him after Kelly was kicked out by their parents when she was 16 and pregnant.

Michael writes a blog Life according to Liam where he shares stories about his nephew Liam and videos of their days running around Pittsburgh.

Michael is a big fan of the Pittsburgh hockey Team the Ravens especially the goalie Bryn Mettler. ...more

Locey delivers a great read if you are looking for something low-key but with a TON of heat.  Life According to Liam is pretty much two guys who meet, fall for each other, have sexy time together, and decide to live HEA.  And while that means no angst, it doesn't mean that it isn't enjoyable to be taken along for the ride.

I do wish we'd gotten just a little more of the family interactions.  I would have loved to see how suave, sophisticated Bryn learns to fit in with Mike's more mi

Oh my God, Liam is absolutely one of my favourite children in romance fiction. So often stories with kids in annoy the everloving out of me because the kids are just too damn perfect or precocious. Liam is messy and funny and cute and real. As for the adults, they are sweet and perfect together. This is one of those feelgood romances that are pure Romance. Two men meet and date, and joke about being in a hockey romance novel and fall in love. There's snot and vomit (both Liam's) and that's about ...more

Adorable - warms the heart...

Aside from the makeup and dress-up role play that felt forced and cliche, Mike's life with Liam and Kelly as well as his relationship that quickly flourished with Bryn sure made for laughs and giggles and a fun couple hours of reading.

I like unpretentious, friendly witticisms and banter between couples, and it is really nice that two men can share chemistry yet relax together, too. Usually it's all about sexual frenzy and lust, but not so much fun conver

I was doubting between 3 and 4 stars, but it was better than 3~star rating so I'm going with 4. 🤷♀
It was an easy, warm read. Nothing that keeps you on your toes, nothing special happening - just a fluffy romance, seasoned with a little bit of bossiness.
All the characters were easy likable and Liam is such a sweet boi! Things are happening at reasonable rate, no hurries and no angst. Although the easiness, the story is NOT boring. Michael has great humor and always know what to say! His jokes ma

This is one of the best books out!! I laughed so hard, giggles, cheered, snickered and just flat out loved it!!! Mike ran a blog Life According to Liam which is a huge hit. Liam being his nephew, a toddler who would make anyone smile. When he meets Bryn, NHL goalie, life gets better and better.

These guys, this family are just amazing!! The laughter, the love and happiness are the perfect combination. This story was absolutely one feel good story that deserves high praise for VL Locey....awesome

From that review:You know you're in for a treat when you start to laugh pretty much right from the start of a story.  And that happens with Life According To Liam by V.L. I absolutely fell in love with this book and the characters in it. Mike believes he won't fall in love because no one wants a ready made family, especially because he's so involved with raising his nephew, Liam and helping his younger sister. But when Mike meets Bryn, everything changes for him. This was a very cute read with low angst and little conflict. The secondary characters are wonderful and I loved immersing myself in this world. A great read!!

Oh my goodness this book was full of awesomeness from page one until the last sentence. This is what romance stories are supposed to be. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this sweet story. Every family needs an Uncle Mike and everyone also needs a Liam to keep them on their toes. VL Locey this is possibly my all time favorite book from you. I love it and I love you for sharing it with us. #DontEatWhereYouPoop #LoveBrynAndMike

This book had so much started with a bang for me but then kinda lost its sparkle. The main characters were fun, easy going and likeable. I think the main problem I had with it was that the storyline kinda switched from light rom-com to dominant side with their relationship but then abruptly fallen back to it's easy side..

But despite having said that it WAS a fun read. I'm definitely gonna read more by the author in hopes that the next book will be a huge hit from start

This is the first time I’ve read anything by this author. I couldn’t put it down. Loved it. Just delightful. Which sounds trite, but that is the word the comes to mind. With Laugh out loud humor and a sweet couple, I just can’t wait to read another story from this author.

Adorable kid

Liam was really the best part of this book, which is no complaint. I loved that the family was really fleshed out in this book and that the love story was really related to Bryn joining their family.

Absolutely fabulous!

Oh my, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was funny, snarky and sweet. The way Bryn and Michael met was awesome and Liam stole my heart. Add in the hot hockey goalie factor too.
