It's hard enough being a chameleon shifter with wonky powers... but opening Jewels Cafe in a supernatural town like Silver Springs? Maybe not the best idea.

I thought I could work side by side with my best guy friend... but now I have to juggle hiding my crush for him and putting our cafe on the map. Because if no one in Silver Springs realizes that we've got this hidden

It's been a while since I've read and enjoyed a paranormal/supernatural novel as I used to read a lot of them when I was in my late teens / early adult years but then I got over them as they felt all the same. Recently, however, this new series Jewel's Cafe caught my eye were a number of authors have written a book using a gem. The books are also Reverse Harem which drew me in. Amber starts off with Amber and Julian at the cafe that they now own - Jewel's Cafe in Silver Springs. It was great ...more

Awesome, awesome, awesome

I loved this so much. I picked it up because everyone has been raving about it and I’m so glad that I did within the first page I was riveted. I was laughing and I couldn’t put it down. Cannot wait to read more in this series

Funny but fast!

I love the RH genre - otter much everything about it. But, RH is a trope that seems to do better when built over time - at least in my opinion. This is a stand alone, and quite an amusing one, but it craves all that good romance and fuzzy feelings into one short novel, offering a disservice to the characters. Then again, the plot wouldn’t have carried to two, so I can see the point. And this is an entertaining, if quick, read. And a shared universe too!

Instalove, but funny

So I'm not big on instalove and there's not nearly enough to this story. There's very little time spent on world building and most of the established relationships are built through thoughts and conversations about memories. That said the part where Julian calls his mother was so funny I couldn't even breathe I was laughing so hard and when I did finally manage to calm down enough to take a breath I started laughing that hard all over again. Seriously that scene makes the

Oh my goodness this was a great book. In loved Amber and the gang. I read this book in one sitting. My only drawback was that I WANTED MORE!!

Amber finds her mates in a weird way. How it happens was a mystery to me but all unfolded as you read along. My heart went out to her. You can only keep a secret love for so long before you crumble. Also With The cafe on the rocks, something is bound to give? Who will be there to help hee. What will she do when she meets her mates? Oh boy So much happens in

Amber was a fun quick read. I love the main characters personality. The only thing that I wasn't the biggest fan of, but I knew going in ahead of time, was that it was sort of an instant love story. Amber has been in love with her best friend for as long as she has known him. It was nice to relate to a character who wasn't perfect looking or a size extra small. I liked that she had a relatable background, minus the wires sticking out of her head and the red beard. It showed us her awkward years ...more

A little drama and a whole load of sugar. Three guys, multiple POVs. The MC is a little bit whiny but who can blame her. I liked the series opening, brief intro to other jewels and the chameleon meltdowns.

Mia Harlan's Amber was AH-MAZING!

It was funny and quirky in the best way, as well as steamy and romantic. When the story was over I was BEGGING for more. And thankfully, Mia is currently writing more about Amber and her men, so YAY! Can't. Wait.

I'm excited to see what's next from this author and to check out the rest of the Jewel's Café series!

Amber is the first book in a multi author series. I have to be honest and say I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this book but I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed this story. Amber is a Chameleon and has always had a problem with her powers. She tends to shift uncontrollably, especially when she's nervous. She and her best friend Julian opened up Jewels Cafe. He's a witch and has his own problems with his magic. With the cafe struggling, they come up with a new menu item to ...more

This is a book where, after I've finished it, I sit there and think "What have I just read?" I was on the fence between one or two stars, but I'd feel so harsh giving it one since there was such potential in the story.
I found the premise of the book interesting and that's what kept me going, the hope that it'd pick up. A chamelon shifter falls in love with a bear, and bunny shifter, and throw in a friends to lovers plot? I'm sold.
But she was a chamelon shifter in terms of taking the form of

"Last thing I need is for one of them to tell my best friend, Julian, that I like to parade around as a guy in my spare time. Which I don’t. I swear!"

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book.

"Amber" is a light and entertaining reverse harem read. The main character, Amber, is a "chameleon": a supernatural creature that can become anything she wants--an ability made particularly interesting as when they transform into a person, they reflect any traits that the person had at the time.

Absolutely loved this book! This is the first book that I have read by Mia. Mia rocked it!
The town, Silver Springs, is for both supes and human. Jewels Cafe is the center of this book. I'm guessing the center of the series as well. Amber and Julian have been best friends for years

This book was dumb. Not awful, hence two star vs one star, but just dumb. While reading the beginning it felt very flighty and at times confusing. There was no real substance to this book and the conflict to it came as no surprise. Instead of coming off as post college it Felt more like a high school mentality/age . The characters had no depth. The book was missing depth too. It was The author had a thought I wrote it down on one page and spun it into a quick story and it had a lot of other

I received an ARC copy of this book. Amber is a cute, lighthearted, quick read stand-alone. It was a fun read, but I really wanted more from it; it felt too rushed. I think the only thing I disliked about Amber was her lake of self confidence. It was a pretty good introduction to the Jewels cafe world and I can’t wait to see what the other authors come up with to continue on. I’m hoping that Amber and her men pop up again at some point so we can see how they are doing. Wish the book had been a ...more

I was lucky enough to read this magnificent piece of work written by Mia Harlan. I got the book on Friday and had finished it by Sunday, that’s how good it was (I would have been done sooner if I didn’t have to work).

In this book Mia brings together Supes and Humans. The book is based around the main character Amber who has wonky magic which brings so much comedy to the novel. We follow her journey to love and it is absolutely fantastic. I’m really trying to not spoil the book as I honestly

This is the first book in the Jewels Cafe series. Each book is written by author and it’s all done it the same universe. Every Monday a new book will be released and all I can say is that I’m super excited.
Now getting into this book, I loved it. It was so sweet and had some steam to it. I loved the character Amber she was amazing. I also loved her three men Julian, Wes, and, Chase. They each had qualities that I loved. I liked how we got to see characters from future books in this one. It was

So. I usually have absolutely terrible luck. But I got very lucky this one time and got to be an ARC for this book. The characters in this book made me laugh, cry, and a little hot. Everything was very well written, world and characters. I felt all the emotions that Mia had the main characters feel. The plot was great and there were a lot of heavy feelings, but also had some nice light hearted moments.
I’ve read plenty of books about shifters, but never about a chameleon shifter. Mia did a great

First of all, chameleon shifter! Yes, please. The story had humor and a very nice assortment of guys for her reverse harem. Loved the shoe store scene. The only downside for me was how fast the characters were introduced. I would have liked to have had more story behind the guys. Now Julian's story was told enough but the other two needed more for me. Characters were varied. Story pace was fast. The love scene parts were too fast for me especially with her being a virgin. This would have made it ...more

A true delight!

My first book by Mia and it was so much fun! I think this is the perfect Halloween season book!

A coffee shop, witches with wonky powers, a bear shifter, a bunny shifter and a spark spell gone wrong..what possibly could happen?

There was so much attraction and heat going on between Amber, Julian, Wes and Chase it was fun to try and keep up!

A bit of drama and mystery going on but that's to be expected with so much supernatural stuff in the storyline.

And since I mentioned witches with

Kind of a quick cutesy story, there's no real substance to the story or the characters and no real world building. Nothing really to pull me into the story or to care about the characters. There were a few places that were just awkward instead of funny, that almost had me quitting. There are a few good points of humor in the story that would have me snorting or snickering, like the rabbit shifter referring to his dick as a carrot, or the phone call to Julian's mom. Overall, it's just not a ...more

Entertaining introduction

I loved the idea of a set of books written by different authors in the same universe. It also happens that a few of my favorite authors participate in this series and that really piqued my interest. I believe it's the perfect opportunity to get to know new authors. The author of this book is a new one for me and I must say, she didn't disappoint me at all. It's not that easy to create a plot and world in a short standalone, but she nailed it. I immediately loved Amber

Adorably klutzy magic

I was in the mood for cute and funny and this book hit the spot. I am glad that I happened to see it on Instagram and gave it a try!!
Amber, a chameleon, has loved Julian, her best friend, for six years and he has never known. She hasn't dated anyone ever.
Julian is a witch who casts a spell that goes "wonky". Now all the sudden she has three guys that she is attracted to. The fact they like her back and think she is their mate seems surreal.
Don't forget the other woman who

This was such a fun read. This author is new to me and I was really pleasantly surprised by the story. The storyline itself is cute and well-developed. I seriously couldn't put this down when I was reading it. It would be considered a slow-burn I think, but it's worth the wait at the end, though I would have liked more of that steamy scene towards the end. Definitely give this a read if you're looking for something good!

I loved this story it was absolutely hilarious and this story centres around Jewels Cafe where two best friends Amber and Julian have opened up. Amber has wonky magic and she has had a secret crush on her best friend Julian for ages and then she takes one sip of a spelled pumpkin spiced latte and a sexy bear and bunny are calling her their mate. There is so much going on in this story and I can’t wait to read more in this series, this is an amazing story and I highly recommend this book it’s ...more

I read this book last night and it's the only thing on my mind. It really catches your attention and I love all the characters! However, I think that the book is really fast-paced and that it didn't keep us guessing. I think that there weren't many conflicts either. The conflicts are solved quickly, and some are of them kind of predictable. Overall, I think some of the issues I've complained about, we can easily overlook and say that this book is really amazing.

Awesomely Weird

The subject for this review will make sense once you’ve read this book. It will capture you from the very beginning from all the mishaps and misunderstandings to the hilarious and sweet moments. I can’t get enough of the Bean, Juli, Wes and specially Chase. You will laugh, cry from sadness, frustration and joy, and sizzle from beginning to end. Definitely we’ll done and recommended.

This book was so cute. If you want a feel good story I definitely recommend.
-fated mates, best friends to lovers, 3 males 1 female
-told from multiple POV, mainly female MC
-magic, shifters
-it’s funny, I laughed out loud a couple times.
-female MC is 21, but inexperienced. 1 steam scene.
It’s short and sweet and perfect if you’re looking for a feel good book. Nothing bad to say about this. Definitely put me in a better mood.

Cute and light-hearted

This is cute, definitely a lighter read. There's not a lot of character development and the main conflict is mostly due to some miscommunication.
The world seems interesting but there's not a lot of world-building in it. And this is extremely fast paced.
While I liked it, I cant say I'd want to read it again and again.
But if you're just looking for something that's not too dramatic, light on action, with a nice happy ending then I'd recommend it.
