Edna's second book doesn't disappoint! "Self respecting cooks in Waterloo County don't bother with recipes to make regular fruit pies" . I love sitting down and having a cup of coffee with Edna!

I don't love this quite as much as Food the really Schmecks but it is still pretty entertaining.

My dad gave me Food That Really Schmecks and I refer to it time and again. I even pull it out when looking for something to read. Now I have two, love them both.

Edna Staebler who recently passed away in her 101st year was an award-winning journalist and a regular contributor to Maclean’s, Chatelaine, and many other magazines. She is the author of Cape Breton Harbour, Places I’ve Been and People I’ve Known and the Schmecks cookbook series. Must Write: Edna Staebler’s Diaries, edited by Christl Verduyn, was published by Laurier Press in 2005.
