I’ve spent eight years wishing I’d fall out of love with Derek Knightley. Blowing out birthday candles, chasing after shooting stars, making it rain spare change into mall fountains—every time it’s the same wish: forget about Derek.

But the day he walks back into my life, I realize there are two things time has yet to soften: my feelings for him and his chiseled jawline.

I don’t know how a soul finds its mate, why it seemed like mind had latched onto someone who was the least logical choice. All I know is it’s been eight years and I’m still not over my silly crush on Derek Knightley.

HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS is a sweet and laugh-out-loud hilarious romantic comedy about a beautiful woman with a quirky personality and her teenaged crush coming back into her life after an eight-year absence. Whitney Atwood works at a

This was my most anticipated read, from the moment I read the synopsis I was impressed and I couldn't wait to read it!It was a heartwarming story with well developed characters and a great romance!

Whitney and Derek were fantastic together, I just find myself not liking Whitney as much as I was expected. She was a little bit immature for my taste but Derek stole my heart! And I just wish there were more moments together, between these two!

Overall, it was another fun and sweet read !

Disney better watch out, rs grey is coming for their brand. That was truly straight out of a fairytale.

This might be my favorite of hers to date.

Let me go call my parents and demand why I wasn’t raised in a theme park.

It’s taken me forever to try and get my thoughts together for this review. I adore R.S. Grey and her novels, so it hurts to even rate this low, let alone type a review as to why this didn’t work for me.

I wanted to get caught up in the magic of this theme park and swept away by the romance between our characters, Whitney and Derek. Only one of those things happened and it wasn’t the romance. I really liked all the detail that the author gave this theme park. I remember on R.S. Grey’s Instagram

This could have been rounded up to 4 stars but I decided against it, just because I felt like this book wasn't as good as her previous ones.

There were times where I was beyond aggravated with the heroine because she was so resistant for reasons that weren't clear to me at that moment. She had this delicious species of a man (loved his smirkiness btw haha) trying to win her over and what did she do? Resisted and deflected his advances, even led on another guy. It was funny and

Oh man did I love this book!!!!

In this book we meet Whitney, a big dreamer and Derek Knightley, heir to the theme park built by the Knightley family.
I don’t want to spoil the content of the book, because it’s seriously one you should enjoy on your own.

I’m still allowed to shared my thoughts though ;)

This was such a fun, cute, and steamy romantic comedy that brought to life the fascination of working behind the scenes at a theme park (especially with an acclaimed character role being a princess). Working at a theme park is always something that I've been curious about because of how magical a setting it is. In fact, in the midst of reading this novel and learning about the underground tunnels within this story, I quickly fell down the rabbit hole of learning about the Disney Utilidors.

I absolutely LOVED it. Everything about this enchanting romcom was perfect and dazzling. RS Grey always manages to seamlessly craft a world setting that is unique and enthralling in all her books. Hotshot Doc has been a favourite of mine but His Royal Highness is close to dethroning it.

First and foremost, this isn't a royalty romance. Its a second-chance romance taking place in a themed park called Fairytale Kingdom. Whitney & Derek used to have a mentor/mentee relationship about 8 years ago

I don't know if you knew this about me or not but my two most favorite things in the whole wide world are romance novels and Disney theme parks. So when I saw RS Grey's instastories about her behind-the-scenes research into the secret theme park magic we don't often see as guests, I got a smidge excited to say the least. I knew Grey would be somehow bridging my favorite things in this story of a theme park princess and the company prince set to inherit the reins, but I wasn't at all prepared for ...more

R.S. Grey writes a delightful tale set in a magical place. I was automatically transported to Disneyland and wished I had my any pass again. Whitney is an optimist, incredibly nice and sweet and Derek was the perfect Prince Charming for her, a bit a mischievous and dirty to her sweetness.

Whitney and Derek may come from completely opposite backgrounds, but their back and forth were fun and sexy. Whitney tried to ignore her attraction to him, but he pushed all her buttons until she finally gave

His Royal Highness is everything I've come to expect from an R.S. Grey book. It has a delicious slow burn, swoony moments, and lots of wit and humor. I found this one had a bit more emotions than some previous ones did, and didn't find myself laughing as much as I normally do with Grey's books, but rest assured, it is still completely a RomCom.

Whitney and Derek first meet when Whitney starts working at a theme park, and Derek is assigned to be her mentor. He's 10 years older, charming and

The magic of a romance novel isn’t just in the love story, and nothing quite spells fairy tale like a theme-park setting. R.S. Grey puts a fresh spin on the royal romance trope by setting her newest novel in a make-believe kingdom—a fictional theme park known as Fairytale

Just because I get it doesn’t mean I liked it.

She’s 18, he’s 28. He’s her mentor for a month. She falls in love with him but he doesn’t really see her as anything more than a kid. He then dips off to London, sending her an email that he’s leaving, and returns 10 years later.

She’s still totally obsessed-ish/in love with him. Tries to play it cool, but fails. He begins to see her differently now that she’s older. Likes her.

I have mixed feelings about books that use a formula for the story. On the one hand, yes, I know where you're going, which is comforting. On the other hand, I can predict every damn thing that's happening because the author's writing is now a total cliche to me and in this case, a pastiche of her last five books.

That's where I am with His Royal Highness, a book I compelled myself to finish, even though I cringed or rolled my eyes every 20 pages.

Here's the thing: I enjoy most RS Grey books. The

I found His Royal Highness is to be a cute romcom.
I adore R.S. Grey’s books but I do admit that this one wasn’t my favourite.
This book very much gave me a Hallmark movie vibe with a dash of steam.
FYI, Me saying that isn’t a bad thing. Sometimes you just want to read a book that is super romantic, magical and cute. Set in an imaginary magical theme park: Fairytale Kingdom, this book is a bucket load of fairytales and cuteness overload.

Whitney and Derek's story was so much fun, deliciously slow burn, while slightly emotional and super cute in such an incredible setting. I seriously loved all the behind the scenes aspects them working in a Theme Park and I really felt like I was there along for it all

Got to 59% and thought, yeah..... whatever..... I just didn't care any more, so returned it KU. It started off OK, but it just didn't seem to be going anywhere. I didn't know enough about the H's true feelings and thoughts, and didn't really feel the connection between H and h.

The whole Disney theme park trope isn't my thing anyway. (I know, I'm just a grinch). But it was all a bit too cutesy for moi anyway.

I am a fan of Ms Grey's books - I've really liked some of them. But they are hit-or-miss

I have a rule I follow when it comes to rating certain books: generally, if I finish a normal-sized novel in 24 hours, it's going to automatically be a five-star read. I'm not someone who can usually sit still for hours and read nonstop. I like to get up, move around, be somewhat active every single day. Well, I'm happy to report R.S. Grey turned my Sunday into one of the most relaxing days I'd had in ages. I went into full couch potato mode because I was

R.S. Grey is back with another fun romantic comedy and I LOVED every second of this one! It’s a second chance romance set in a theme park. Whitney started working at the theme park when she was a teenager and met Derek then. She had a huge crush on him, but he moved out of the country before anything could happen between them. He’s back 8 years later and sparks fly again. Things did move a little slow in the beginning because there was quite a bit of a past and background between these two ...more

I have been a huge fan of RS Grey as her stories are always delightful and swoony with an emphasis on a slow burn romance that I can't get enough of. I thought Whitney and Derek were funny and sexy and the fact that this story literally takes place in a fairytale land? SOLD. This was fantastic!

Review by Lisa Kane

Whitney Atwood works at Fairytale Kingdom in Georgia. From the time she was old enough to get a job the company has been her employer. Really her escape from the life she lives with her family. Her sister, Avery had cancer. As often happens, a family with a sick child will often become the focus of the family, almost to the exclusion of any other siblings in the family. Whitney became the donor when needed, the care taker, the one who didn't exist outside of what she could do
