Growing up in a household filled with younger siblings had never been easy for young and beautiful Jeanette Bell. With a mother who only cared about herself and her men, she was forced to learn how to parent sooner than she should have. Cooking, cleaning and being her mother's foot stool was just a small portion of the hell Jeanette had to deal with, and she did it all with a smile on her face.

Mason Vactor is an all around ladies man and there was no doubt he loved the ladies. Fine, fly, and hardworking, his charm was sure to get him any woman he wanted; even Netta. Witnessing the abuse Jeanette endured while sharing the same bed with her mother, Mason deleopes a soft spot for the young teen and her son. So when Nett's mother threw them out with no place to go, he was there to pick up the pieces. But what happens when he turns the sweet, innocent, girl he once adored, into his doormat? Cooking and cleaning won't be the only thing she's good for.

My Mother's Man is sure to bring out every sense of emotion you have. So grab your tissue and get ready for one hell of a ride!

1st read by this author. Netta jumped out of the frying pan into the fire the day she left her evil mother's home and moved with May- her mom's boyfriend. It was easy to feel sorry for her because the violence she experienced was the worse I've read. I also felt sad for her young son Wayne during his younger years. Well written as I felt I knew these characters. The ending was not surprising and I was glad of May's new cellmate

Maaaannn 😱😱

This book here, let me tell you. Netta's momma was hell on wheels. She didn't have to treat them kids the way that she did.

You know, you read many stories where the son or daughter is always mistreated but this right here was on a whole new level of fck sh*t.

Netta was dealt a bad hand at birth and that same hand took to whoopin her a** on the daily. She had no guidance, no education, and a man that didn't give a sh*t.

Not only that, she was beyond naive. Because ain't no way I'ma walk bck into the fist that keeps slapping me around but hey, everybody has their own crosses to bear.

It was so much going on. I mean one minute I was rooting for Netta and the next minute, she was pissing me off. You can't tell a blind fool to run if they gone kept running into the same damn wall.

This book was hell, from start to finish. I can't wait to get my hands on part 2.

This book shook me to the core. Have you ever read a book that has a story to tell about people life that you know is true, but you cant believe that it really is true, that was this book. Netta was the main character of this story, she was raised by a mother who had ten children and she didnt like Netta and treated her as such. She than was put out of her mother house to go be with her mothers man. Netta endured a hard life and at times I was shaking my head saying, "She is stupid", but this was her life, who am I to judge? I hurt for Netta, but what I hurt for more was the son that was bought into her world, who didnt deserve to see the things he did. This book touched on what women go through when they aren't loved.

NETTA JUST COULDN'T CATCH A BREAK FROM THE START I HONESTLY WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY HER MOM TREATED HER THE WAY SHE DID AND NOT HER OTHER KIDS .. WAYNE GOT TO SEE MORE THAN ANYBODY COULD STAND TO SEE AND STILL KEPT GOING I UNDERSTAND WHY HE ON THE ROAD HE IS JUST HATE IT.. MASON WAS THE LOWEST OF THE LOW HE DIDN'T LOVE HIMSELF LET ALONE NOBODY ELSE... SAD TO SAY IT'S MANY NETTA OUT IN THIS WORLD AND FEEL THEY HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE BUT THAT TYPE OF "LOVE" A WORD TO THEM LOVE YOURSELF AND ITS ALRIGHT TO CHOOSE YOU WHILE STEPPING OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE .. READY FOR PART 2 TO SEE WHAT THEM BELL GIRLS REALLY GOT GOING ON...

Emotional Rollercoaster

The characters take you on a ride that you will never forget. There is Nette who this is about. She was really taken advantage of. Sure as a kid, we see things that not meant to see but she grew up too soon. All because she may have been the product of a rape and she was in turn raped. You are beaten and verbally abused.
You love this man though. There is not characters that I dislike more than her rapist, and Mason.
My heart went out to Wayne and his sisters. I cannot wait to see what happened. I was happy Mason got his in the end.

Very Emotional

Netta was just a child with a child when I mother put her out. Mason knew this and took full advantage of her situation. He was old enough to be her father. Netta suffered Abuse mentally and physically with Mason. With 3 kids and nowhere to go. This book demands more than 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. I can't wait for part 2. Everyone should read this book. Because even though it's fiction. It is happening way to much in reality.

Very emotional book

This book made me want to cry. It is one of the saddest books I have ever read. I wanted to hung and smack Netta so many times in this book. I wanted to embrace Wayne and give him motherly love. Mason was my most hated character. He manipulated everyone he came into contact with.

Good story

Netta went thru a lot as a child. Some of the decision that her mom made regarding them was straight up wrong.. She has babies by her mom boyfriend and it was like the worse mistake of her Iife.. She kept jumping from man to man.. Her own sister treated her like shish.. I definitely wanna read part 2..

WOW

Wow is the only word that comes to mind. This book caught me completely off guard. I felt bad for Metra in the beginning but then I got mad at her. I wish she would have just left Mason's dog ass for good the first time for good. I was proud of her. They say that kids are the product of their environment and man let me tell you Wayne wasn't having that. I cannot wait for the next has dropping story. This is really somebody truth and I wish that all battered woman would read this book.

OSHARRRRRRRAAAAAAAA‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️💪🏾

This was my FIRST book by this author, but I’m jumping into her catalog RIGHT NOW! O’Sharra speaks to so many souls and tells more stories than just Netta’s. I cried so hard and even smiled at times, but I felt everything in this book and I mean EVERYTHING! If you haven’t taken your shot with Ms. O’Sharra then you need to fall in line because this book was amazing and IS a must read!!!!!

Oh my goodness!

This book had me feeling some type of way from beginning to end. This was a viscous cycle of abuse in one family. Netta was so foolish to allow Mayday to abuse and manipulate her. I feel so sorry for her children growing up in that environment. I'm ready for part 2. I want some type of happy ending for some of these family members.

Great Read

Although this was a great book. I had to subtract two star's because there were quite a few grammatical error's as well as the Characters names getting mixed up. However Maddie was a trifling, bitter, scandalous piss poor excuse of a mother. I understood why Jeanette older three siblings left home and didn't look back. Maddie treated Jeanette like she was s**t on the bottom of a shoe instead of her daughter. Jeanette was a child herself taking care of her six younger siblings as if she birth them. Maddie didn't allow Jeanette to go to school therefore Jeanette never learned how to read or spell. Maddie physically, verbally, and emotionally abused Jeanette. When Jeanette got raped by a man old enough to be her grandfather. Her mother called her a liar and blamed her for being fast. Getting pregnant from the rape had Maddie treating Jeanette even worst. Mason was around to witnessed it all. I truly believe he got with Maddie in order to get closer Jeanette. Mason was a predator and pedophile. Maddie and Jeanette coming to blows over Jeanette young son Wayne getting hurt was the excuse Mason needed to get Jeanette away from her mother and under his thumb. Mason is a wolf in sheep clothing. Poor child had no clue that Mason was going to end up dragging her through hell. Mason is manipulative, physically and verbally abusive. Had given Jeanette more black eye's, busted lips, and multiple STD'S than the law should allow. She was getting confronted by women and jumped on by other young girl Mason was screwing and still laid down and had two daughter's by Mason that he didn't care for. I wish Jeanette would've stood up to him when he was berating and belittling her son Wayne like she did her mother. Wayne eye's were older than he was. As a very young child. He saw the abuse and disrespect his mother suffered. Jeanette never knew what love was because she was never shown it but yet she thought Mason loved her. I would've thought after losing a body part. It would have humbled Mason but it didn't. Ms. Arlene was an angel in disguise for Jeanette and her three children Wayne, Bonnie, and Terri. She tried her best to help Jeanette. Taught how to read and drive when Mason up and left her. I just knew Jeanette was going to start doing better but nope. Mason pop back up and got his hooks into her again. Jeanette older sister and her husband helped Jeanette get back on her feet again but once again Mason popped back up and she accepted him back not knowing it would be her last time. The abuse Jeanette went through. All three of her children witnessed it. It shaped them to be who they ended up being. Wayne grew up angry and out for revenge on Mason. Him and his two little sister had front row seat to their mother demise. Bonnie in the Military and is being sexual abuse and Terri has married a man who is disrespectful and verbally abusive like her father Mason.

Is it ingrained in the DNA?

The story of abuse starting with Netta is said. She was treated bad by her mom because of her mom’s childhood and what her mom and grandmother been through. Netta was groomed by her mom’s boyfriend at 15. He took advantage of the fact she was raped with a baby and her relationship with her mother was dysfunctional and non existent. Despite Netta being the one taking care of her siblings even her siblings did not stand up for her. The abuse she undergo by Mason “May Day” was heartbreaking she took him back each time until he killed her in front of his kids like his father dines his mother when he was a child. Then Netta children grow up to be in their own toxic relationships and traits. Her son who was never Mason’s but the only father he known and who treated him like crap and called him a rape baby went down a life of crime just for revenge of Mason killing his mother. It was just a cringing cycle of abuse mixed with rape, toxic, and narcissistic behavior throughout the story. I wish Netta had a chance but her death was brutal sick in your stomach way. A lot of women live this life and their kids repeat the same cycle as well. This book brought light to the generational curses and how they could be hard to break.

I have never heard of this author a day in my life and I like her already 😘 I'm here to tell you I'm 1 of the most blunt straightforward reviewers she will ever meet! You got to be ready for me cause I come on strong 😎👿 I don't feel not the least bit sorry for Jeanette period!! I understand she had a horrible upbringing but it's no excuse. Its called using your common sense. Jeanette was one dumb ass woman. If you want to be a dumb hoe and stick around and let a dude keep dogging you then maybe your stupid ass deserve it but the least the dumb ass girl could have done was save her child. The broad was dropping to her knees, begging and he made her leave her child home alone, man I could have just jumped through the book and beat that hoe up my damn self! I'm sorry, not sorry but I'm glad that hoe died. She needed too. I hate stupid people!! Behind my baby I will rock that orange jump suit 😎 And now her dumb ass daughter who's husband want the divorce is being stupid like her dumb ass mama smh Any who, let me get to book 2. I hope it was May who in that horrible situation in the end. I need him to die to just because he deserve it! I will be checking out more books by this author for sho!

This book is so true to life. I was once this young lady. I was in love with a man that was 4 years younger than me. He was a womanizer. I didn't care how many women he had just as long as I had my time with him. He gave me any and everything that I wanted. I wasn't physically abused but mentally abused. I am a firm believer in soul ties. I could catch him with different women and break it off for a few days and go right back for more of his abuse. I have since severed the ties with this man. I no longer accept his abuse. I truly know my worth. Women need to understand that when you know your value and your worth and you know who you are you don't have to accept garbage from NO MAN! Some women learn this lesson fast and get out okay and there are some women that never learn this lesson and it can really become a very costly lesson. I really enjoyed this book it was a real page turner. I can't wait to read the finale.
