Engaging stories and pretty hand-drawn-like pictures. The balance between text and images is just right. The writing gives just enough for me to play up with my voice and face, without ever becoming outrageous like so many more recent storybooks I've encountered. I like to read it, and I suspect that's why my kids like to listen to it.

Had a magical effect on my 6 and 3 year old. Both were instantly compelled by each story, didn’t interrupt once and asked to hear more. The lovely art wasn’t too small for them at all. It has a nice range of tales I wasn’t previously familiar with. The subject matter is typical fairy tales with some British wit and an overall gentle atmosphere.
