This is an emotional book about veterans that is well written. This book made me think, and opened my eyes to what some of the men and women go through when they come back from war. Lauren and Shane have had unthinkable things happen to them—Shane in war and Lauren in New York. Lauren is a wonderful psychologist who helps veterans who are having emotional problems.

At first, I didn’t know if I liked Shane’s father, but as I got in the book I really began to understand and like him. The

I don’t even know where to start with this book other than it’s a must read. I’ve read many books and many from this author but this my favorite book I’ve read. I will be telling all my friends this is one book you will want to read. The book is so real, raw, and in some places hard to read since it hits the reality of our veterans and what they go through. The description of what Staff Sergeant Shane Logan went though losing his legs, his face scarred and having people looking at him with ...more

This book is awesome. It is a heart-wrenching, soul-searching, gut-punch of a read. You will need lots of tissues, and will end up feeling like a wrung-out dishcloth by the end. But oh, what a journey.
The brave people who join the forces to protect their country are often overlooked and forgotten when they return. Unable to hold down a job, or even deal with everyday life of family and relationships, they struggle to cope with injuries from PTSD to missing limbs. This book shows one mans

This book is a romance BUT this book is so very much more. First it focuses on a segment of the population that is seldom highlighted - wounded veterans. The synopsis provided gives you the bear facts of the book - what it doesn't give you is the raw emotions you will go through while reading the book - anger and sadness but you will cheer for these characters. It is the kind of book you cannot put down - you want to savor and slow down but you also want to know what happens. Then will need to ...more

Ugh..this book...my heart..literally wanted to jump in and hug Shane. I loved this story and having family and friends(one who lost his internal battle) that served i was glad to be able to read this book. It shows the demons that those who come home from war face and Shane had not faced those head on yet. He meets Lauren and she actually treats him like the man he is inside and not the scars on the outside. While Lauren is trying to help veterans she has her own internal struggles she needs to ...more

Wow! Just wow! This story has left me with a book hangover. I can’t even think of trying to read anything else for a while. Lauren and Shane are simply amazing characters. They both have underlying fears and insecurities, but they are both such inspirations with their drive and determination. This story was pulling at my heartstrings the whole time. Gah! I’m having a hard time coming up with the exact words I want to use. I really feel speechless after finishing this book. Just read it. You won’ ...more

Lauren and Shane were good souls. The cared about the same thing, helping wounded vets. Shane, himself a wounded vet. Lauren, a therapist who helped returning wounded vets. They were brought together by Shane's Dad to work on Shane's project.

My heart broke for Shane. He thought he was broken and unworthy.

I have ready many vet stories. However, this one really hit me. This is no a book you will easily forgot once you finish. A stock in tissues is definitely a must. You will be emotional spent.

When I first read the blurb on this story, I was a bit apprehensive about reading it because I was worried that it would not properly portray the issues that so many of our Veterans are going through. Boy was I WRONG! The author did an AMAZING job with this story!!! Not only did she write a beautiful love story, but she brought some much-needed awareness to the struggles that our military vets face on a daily basis! Thank you for such an amazing story...I am looking forward to the rest of this ...more

This is the first book in the Rise Again Warrior Series. Ms. Eaton takes on a subject that most people overlook. The trials and turmoil that our wounded men and women face when they return home from war. You will need a box of tissue for this book.
Staff Sgt. Shane Logan came home from the war wounded and missing both of his legs. Shane was fortunate to come from a family with money so he had the best prosthetics that money could buy. But not all warriors come from money. Seeing a great need for

What a great start to a new series. This is an emotional story about the path back from traumatic events.

Shane and Lauren have scars that are still healing, both physically and mentally. Neither one thinks they are ready to be in a relationship but they just may be exactly what each other needs.

Stacy Eaton wrote this beautiful but gut wrenching emotional love story that will captivate you and keep you glued to your seat!! You really get more insight to the emotional problems that our soldiers endure when they come back hurt, either physically or emotionally!! You will need many tissues as this book gave me many tears for all the wounded soldiers and for what they have endured!! If you read any book this year...this is the book to read!! You will fall in love with this couple and meet ...more

Congratulations

I have read all of this author's books and enjoyed all of them but I have to say I think this is the best. The depth of emotions is outstanding, the sensitive issues are covered with care and it's still a great story.

The hero and the survivor.

I couldn't put this book down.
This is about a soldier who lost his legs on the battle field of war, who wants to help his brother's and sister's in arm's receive the best treatment for their injuries. And a Doctor with survivor's guilt after an attack where her finance and friends died.
This is a strong, emotional storyline with a good ending. Please give it a read.

I must say that Ms. Eaton gets to the heart of the matter. This story is heartfelt and will definitely pull at your heart as you realize what PTSD can do to a person and how it affects relationships and moving forward. Well done! I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.

An emotional read about a difficult subject. Shane and Lauren have their own demons to face and are doing so in their own way, but is easy to forget we can be strong and rely on others.

What a great story! A moving story about military sacrafices and the hardships when people go through trauma. This book will stay with you. You will cheer. You will cry. Your might cheer. You will probably get angry. You will want to help. At least I did. I did not want to put this book down.

Two people with PTSD, Shane was gravely injured by an IED, Lauren by a senseless attack that nearly left her dead. They each are trying to live their lives post attack. Lauren is a psychologist, working with veterans in group and private therapy, but on her computer in her own home. She prefers the safety and calm she finds there. Shane is living in NYC, and never has returned to his family and home in Tennessee. He is ashamed of his weakness and the faces of people who look away from him when ...more
