I have been reading the wonderful Dogfather series slowly.  I love the combination of both small town and a big family making it warm and fun; the addition of dogs was just another big plus. It's set in North Carolina near the Blue Ridge mountains, too!  I have bought some of the books and now they seem to be somewhat available at one of my libraries.

“Three Dog Night” is book 2 in Roxanne St. Claire’s Dogmothers series. Grace Donovan has purchased a small winery in North Carolina, Overlook Glen Vineyards, and is looking for a new chef, but not just any chef. It needs to be someone who can help her land the contract of her dreams, a celebrity wedding! Alex Santorini is a chef at his family’s Greek restaurant with a need to branch out from the family business to fulfill his dream of cooking in his own restaurant. He convinces Grace he is up to ...more

Puppies, sexy chefs, a "lost" heroine, wineries, weddings, singing stars, big loving families, found loving families...what more could a reader ask for?! Three Dog Night pulls all kinds of emotional strings in the most fabulous ways. Alex Santorini is warm, compassionate, sexy and oh so romantic. Grace Donovan is an orphan who was passed from foster home to foster home and longs to know more about her family and why everyone seems to abandon her. In typical St. Claire fashion, there is a bit of ...more

Three Dog Night is a sweet, tender, often sad, and ultimately uplifting story about the search for and the meaning of family. Vintner, Grace, raised in the foster system has been disappointed so many times that she has built walls around her heart. Alex is working as the chef in his late father’s Greek restaurant, but his heart longs to go out and create his own recipes. Brought together by the wedding of Alex’s mom and Dogfather Daniel, their budding relationship is strengthened by the arrival ...more

This book had so many wonderful things going for it. The "Dogmothers" are matriarchs of their families--Jewish and Greek families that have been joined by marriage. There is a vinyard that is used as a wedding venue, lots of nosy caring family members, weddings, couples in love, a couple falling in love...and puppies!
Grace has been searching for family most of her life and has an event that needs a chef. Alex has more family than he can shake a stick at and is a chef that needs something m

Let me start by acknowledging I’m an unabashed Roxanne St. Clair fan. I think I’ve read most if not all of her published series. The Dogmothers for those of you new to her, is a spinoff of her Dogfather series. If you enjoy contemporary romance with a lot of loving family, adorable pets and sweet romance with just a little bit of steamy thrown in, you’ll like both series.
This book features Alexander Santorini the chef for his family’s Greek Delis and Grace Donovan the owner of Overlook Vin

In between preparing for a mock wedding reception, they search for more information about Grace’s family. Will Alex come in second to Grace’s new family? I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Alex and Grace’s amazing story in Three Dog Night by Roxanne St. Claire, book two in her Dogmother series. Three Dog Night starts right in the middle of Daniel Kilcannon and Katie Santorini’s wedding reception where Kilcannons, Santorinis and Mahoneys run in their natural habitat of family reunions, food, wine, music, dancing and matchmaking. This time is french trained chef Alex Santorini who is targeted by Gramma Finnie and Yiayia who in their uncanny and irreverent ways want him to take notice of Grace Donovan, owner of Overlook Glen Vineyards, who uses a different approach to making wine. Every time I think this is the best book I've ever read from Roxanne St. Claire I read her next book and think that very same thing. You can never go wrong with anything she writes. She puts so much of herself in these books. You'll find yourself laughing, crying, and just feeling like you're part of these wonderful people, and you can't wait to read more about this amazing family.

I absolutely loved this book. I think you will, also.

I am old enough to remember the singing group Three Dog Night, and I knew that “three dog night” is a slang term for a night cold enough to require a pile of at least 3 dogs sleeping with you to keep you warm. That prior knowledge is not required to understand and enjoy this book, nor do you have to have read the previous ones in the series. If you read no other books in the Dogfather or Dogmother series, read this one. It has a lo

So much to say about Alex and Grace from Three Dog Night by Roxanne St Claire. The hard part is not revealing any spoilers. Alex has long dreamed of his own restaurant with a non-Greek menu. Alex feels he would be letting his family and deceased father down if he were to leave the family restaurant. While helping his mom plan her wedding to Daniel Kilcannon(aka The Dogfather), Alex meets the very pretty winery owner, Grace Donovan and is quite intrigued. Grace Donovan has relied on science to li ...more

Each time I read the latest book in this series, I say it is my favorite. I don’t think I will say that after this book. They will all be wonderful, as they always are, but Three Dog Night will always remain my favorite. While I have read many heart-warming stories in my life, this one touched me in a very special way.

Each book has that special element of bringing dogs and humans together. In this book, three sweet little puppies bring many people together. When Grace finds them, it changes her

I had the pleasure of reading an ARC of Three Dog Night by Roxanne St. Claire fit an honest review. I can honestly tell you that I LOVED IT! It was an outstanding story and probably one of my favorites. Roxanne St. Claire has once again proved that she is an amazing author. I loved the characters, the setting, and everything else. Three Dog Night is the second book in the Dogmothers series from Roxanne St. Claire and it hooked me from the very first page.

Alex Santorini continues to work in his family’s Greek restaurant to honor his father. His dream is to cook more than the family recipes, as he is a professionally trained chef. Grace Donovan bought her vineyard 3 years ago, and is working hard to make it both a successful vineyard and a destination-wedding venue. Just as she is given the opportunity to compete with othe

Three Dog Night is a story that quickly grabs your heart and squeezes it tighter and tighter right until the very end refuses to release you for even a moment. I don’t recommend starting this book if you can’t finish it immediately, because you aren’t going to put it down once you start.  Alex and Grace’s story is so full of emotional turmoil that I honestly couldn’t stop the tears a few times and had my family and animals reacting to the tears. Graces past is heart-wrenching to be sure, but the ...more

Alex Santorini always had a dream of opening his own French food style restaurant but when his dad fell sick, he instead came back home to help out at Santorini's, the family owned Greek restaurant. Alex has spent his whole life putting his Greek family's needs first instead of his own and now that his dad is gone he feels guilty if he were to start his own restaurant. At Alex's mom's recent wedding, he became very attracted to the owner of the winery, Grace Donovan and he has tried everything p ...more

I absolutely adored Alex and Grace! I loved how he saw her worth even when she thought she was worthless...loved her even though she thought she was unlovable...stayed when everyone else had abandoned her.

This was a story of rescue. Puppies were rescued. Self-worth was rescued. Dreams were rescued. But, most importantly, love was rescued.

Alex was finally able to step out from behind his older (by two minutes) identical town's shadow and finally live the life he had always

There were tears, lots of laughing, a racing heart and nail biting with this book. I have enjoyed this author’s many books that have come before but Three Dog Night is up there as one of my favorites.

Roxanne St. Claire delivers another emotionally touching story in Three Dog Night, Book Two in The Dogmothers series. Chef Alex Santorini, son of Katie from the Dogfather series and vintner Grace Donovan are attracted to each other and “matched” by the Godmothers – Gramma Finnie and Yiayia Santorini. The story is filled with heart-felt emotions that draw the reader into the heart of her characters. Ms. St. Claire has produced yet another enjoyable Dogmothers installment with her signature depth of emotions. Alex and Grace both have issues that they need to work through in feeling that they are not enough or second best. Grace relies on science to produce her wines. She likes the consistency and security of it, something that she lacked for most of her life. Alex is all about passion, especially when it comes to his food. Passion in any form scares Grace. A wonderful second story in this new spin-off series from The Dogfather. There were so many things I liked about this novel. The book started with a wedding for Daniel and Katie at the Overlook Glen Vineyards. A combining of the Kilcannon-Mahoney families. They think the Vineyard owner and vintner Grace Donovan would be a good match for John Santorini. John's twin, Chef Alex believes he i ...more

Alex has put his dreams on hold out of love and loyalty to his family but when an opportunity emerges to be the chef at a winery he believes this is the chance he has been waiting for. The second book in the Dog Mother series by Ms. St. Claire. It’s written with so much heart.
Like all her books. In this book She takes us on a puppy dog trail and warms your heart.

This is one of those books that will create a wide range of emotions - from laughing out loud to crying (mostly happy tears), frustration, gratefulness for family, and so much more. I became so lost in reading this story that I felt like I was a part of the family.

Grace caught Alex's attention at Daniel and Katie's wedding and he made it his mission to get to know her better. However, the Dogmothers have plans to set up his twin John with Grace. But then Grace's chef quits which lead
