I was given this book for free in exchange for an honest review. As I’ve said before, I always give honest reviews whether people appreciate them or not.

This story begins with seven, dark riders (of motorcycles) riding into small town Sweet Pea. This town is so sweet, so quaint, so lovely and so about to be in trouble. This Motorcycle Club is full of Kings, Dukes and Earls and no, they aren’t British Nobles. They are Hell’s Nobles. Let that since in for a moment. The MC is led by King Beleth, B

I loved this dough much!

This book was amazing!! Kathryn Moon never disappoints. Demons, witches, sass, and mystery, what’s NOT to love about this book? I absolutely can’t wait to read the next one.

First of, I’m a part of Kathryn’s fb group. When Kathryn first mentioned she was writing a new series with “regular” couples I was curious and wary. Curious because it seems all she writes turns to gold, and wary because most of her other works are either rh or whimsical threesome (Command the Moon is still my favorite book of hers). The start of the Sweet Pea Mysteries series does not disappoint. It’s different from her previous works, yes, but still has a Kathryn touch. Very well researched, q ...more

The Baker's Guide to Risky Rituals is the first book in this newest series from the author. I admit, I'm a huge fan of this author's writing style. I love that her stories never fails to fascinate me and this book fits the bill. This is a contemporary, MC romance with paranormal twist. Now, with that trope alone plus that blurb, I just know that I'm going to be in for a treat (pun intended).

Told in third person's POV, I confess that I struggled just a little bit as this was not my usual way of

Seven leather and denim clad demons sporting badass attitudes, ride into Sweet Pea, Virginia on a mission of mischief and mayhem. With a master plan in hand, they’re surprised to discover a coven of witches amongst the townsfolk. Things are about to get interesting in this peaceful little town – especially when the witches realize what they are. I really enjoyed this highly entertaining paranormal romance! It’s well written with diverse and engaging characters. The story flows smoothly with plen ...more

Y’all there is nothing that Kathryn will write that I won’t read. She creates these wonderful universes and stunning characters that leave me wanting more. Josie and Bell are the perfect introduction into the world of Sweet Pea, aka literal heaven on earth.
Sweet Pea is the picture perfect town. Neighbors stop on the street and actually talk to each other, if that tells you anything. King Beleth and his demon motorcycle gang roll into town hell bent (lol) on corrupting the sickeningly sweet town

An exciting launch to a new series.

Moon’s previous books have been pretty fast burns. I don’t mean that dismissively: she jumps right into the action and her characters are intense and passionate. This time, however, we get a much lower temp leadoff.

It pays off. It was disconcerting initially because I expected the pace to mirror her previous books like “Written”. But given the large cast here (7 demons, 4 witches and a small town full of ‘characters’, as my mama would say) it’s well worth it.

I loved Kathryn Moon's newest story! Sweet Pea is a slice of heaven on Earth. It's a small, strong community, but it's not all perfection. When dead bodies start to turn up, Josie, the kitchen witch, and her coven step up to take back their town. But who's the killer? One of the beautiful, bad boys of Hell's Bells MC? One of the townspeople? One of her own? As magic is gathered and lines are crossed, the ending is a beauty with promises of more to come. This story a fun, fast paced mystery with ...more

Great story, so so relationship building

I am a big fan of the author, but I did not enjoy this story quite as much as her others. The idea of witches protecting the town and demons trying to corrupt it is wonderful. I'm super interested to see how the conflicting goals affect the growing relationships between the witches and demons, but is the romantic relationship that is developed in this story that I think fell short. There wasn't enough tying together the fiesty baker and demon in charge, e

They came on silver hogs to bring destruction to Sweet Pea demons kings with one thing on there mind but 4 witches stand in there way. Josie runs a local sweet shop she's attracted the attention of the local new MC Demon biker club Bell she should ignore him and figure out how to get rid of him and his gang but Josie doesn't always do what a good kitchen witch should. Things will keep drawing them together there will be death, murder, danger, and magic good and bad and it looks like this is just ...more

This story takes place the beautiful town of Sweet Pea. During my favorite time of the year fall. There are some practicing witches in some handsome men who are more than what they seem. They come roaring into town on motorcycles and you know the town is not gonna be the same. What is fall without a little bit of pumpkin spice and maybe mysterious murderer two!!! If you've never read a Kathryn Moon before because you did not want RH book this is not one. I now you will love this book. Think of i ...more

This was a fun read once I got into it. I liked the girls and their coven and yeah I started getting into the guys too. I liked that Josie had her special people that Bell had no idea about and that once revealed, was something that had him taking a step back.
As it stands this book seems done at least with that couple even if it seems to be a HFN, but i am certainly looking forward to the next episode in that heavenly town, as the bad boys try to corrupt it.

Upon finishing this, I was surprised. The new take on demons and witches really is refreshing. I read too many books where the author tries to portray the 'demon' as a creature that shows remorse and guilt. I love the utter chaos of the demons in this book, along with the sweet turn of witches. Having g different types of witches makes for a pathway to more books in the future-- books I'll be looking forward to. This book does end on a cliffie of sorts, but is a well rounded place to p

The first chapter will set the tone for this amazing journey. The writing is superb. You will feel the wind, smell the pastries and can here the small town gossip just like you are right there in small town USA.

These characters will suck you in and refuse to spit you out... Believe me, you will want to stay.

Bad boys have never read so good and sassy heroines have never had me saying "Hell Ya!" so loud!

Prepare for a sensory overload in the absolute best possible way!

Once again Kathryn Moon did an excellent job creating interesting, deep characters and a fictional setting I would love to actually visit. I’d classify this as a slow-burn, introductory story to the Sweet Pea Mystery series.

Josie (the heroine) has a strong personality, is loyal, and is no pushover. I didn’t connect as much with Bel, the leading man, but he did seem like a good match for Josie. I’m really excited to see the series continue with the remaining characters in the book. They all were

So. What do you get when you cross white witches and demons sent to corrupt their perfectly pleasant town AND a serial killer? You get Kathryn Moon’s new book baby. It reads like a cozy mystery with an extra dash of romance and a heaping helping of sexy times. (Dear God the sexy times! ) Bell is hot as... well... Hell. And Josie is funny and sarcastic and just all around good. This is the start of a beautiful new series!

Great first in series!

This book started out a little slow for me but I am very happy that I didn't give up on it! It definitely picked up and there was a twist in it that I did not see coming. No spoilers here though, you have to read to see for yourselves, which I definitely recommend that you do. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in this series as they come out, as well as all the other books by Ms. Moon! Mature eyes only due to hot 🔥demon/witch lovin!

When a cluster of demons comes to town, their aim is to subvert the small community and its inhabitants.

While the visit is not without love, death, betrayals and pain, many of the forces, demons, witch coven and others, seem to be changed.

What happens in this steamy and action filled saga?

What happens next?

Steamy exploration of self discovery and the arcane

Welcome to Sweet Pea

A charming small town so sweet it'll give you cavities or is it? The demons sent to corrupt this idyllic little town may not have to work as hard as they expected but when Bell meets Josie the scent of sugar and spice and everything nice, makes him question himself.
The identity of the bad guy completely surprised me, that doesn't happen very often. Definitely worth the read and I look forward to more in this series.

A bit different than what I usually expect from Kathryn but she sucked me right into Sweet Pea! This story has that, bite your nails, "What is happening right now?" Feel and keeps you guessing until the very end. ...ok and more! I can't wait to call in love with these characters as the series builds and I am waiting with baited breath for the next one!

Kathryn Moon has written a wonderful book, where the main character and her love interest are amazingly perfect. The banter, the medium burn, the murder mystery, it all combines into a recipe for perfection. This book tugged on my heartstrings, and I'm thoroughly enamoured with the residents of Sweet Pea. I cannot wait to see what happens in book 2.

This book was absolutely delightful. Most of the characters are really interesting and I look forward to more books with more about each of the characters, and the cozy mystery aspect of it was really well done. I would have liked a bit more depth—especially with the characters, the mystery, the major plot points. But still a sweet, quick read!

Kathryn Moon is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. If you have not read any of her works I highly suggest you binge it all. She is an amazing author. Sweet Pea was no different. I loved the diverse characters and the mystery! I was so engaged in the drama that I did not see the plot twist coming! Great job Ms. Moon on an amazing start to a new series!

Paranormal standalone

4 witches protect SweetPea. 7 demons are sent to destroy the peace. Murder causes the kitchen witch to come under suspicion. This book is well written and entwines demons with witches. I recommend it to all that love witches.

Kathryn Moon is a country mouse who has been trying to write reverse harem since The Backstreet Boys had their first album. When her hands aren't busy typing they're probably knitting sweaters or crimping pie crust. She definitely believes in magic.
