Praise for the Red Zone series: "Imaginative, totally preposterous and I absolutely loved every word!" - Marta, Goodreads

In a future where corporations and nanotech implants run the world, Mace Armstrong is in the wrong place at the wrong time... Literally.

The mission is simple: find a way into CommTECH’s state-of-the-art compound, bug the lead scientist of their bio-engineering team before

This series is going from strength to strength and if you can suspend disbelief and just go with it then this is an outstanding and imaginative read. The idea that several soldiers were mutated one hundred years ago does I admit sound preposterous but in the hands of this creative author it absolutely does work .
In this futuristic world were neural implants are not only desirable but often mandatory CommTECH without a doubt control far more than they should. Corruption and greed lie at its hear

When Keiko is out on the town for her birthday celebration, all she wants is a steamy night with a Viking who doesn’t talk much. She certainly finds him, and she’s all in for a good time. Unfortunately, her Viking has a hidden agenda and Keiko is caught up in a swirl of danger that will o

I absolutely loved this book. Fantasy style books are not usually my first choice, though I have read and enjoyed a few. I read this book specifically because I have enjoyed every other book by Janet Elizabeth Henderson I have read, and there have been quite a few. I couldn't put Red Zone (book 1) down when I started reading it, so when I got the chance to read an ARC of Red Awakening I jumped at it. Action-packed from Page 1! This book hooked me quick and kept me engaged throughout the entire thing. The romance is introduced almost immediately, but the action/adventure portion of it comes into play almost as quickly and makes it that fun-to-read page turner we all love!

The futuristic world is back, but this time focusing on Mace. (Who is Striker from Book 1's best friend.) In a surprising plot twist, the character name "Mace" does not refer to his animal but is ACTUALLY his given name. I g

If you love action-packed, funny as hell romantic suspense, this book is for you! Janet Elizabeth Henderson has followed up Red Zone with another winner! I absolutely devoured this book in one sitting. It was an amazingly fun emotional roller coaster that made me laugh out loud, feel the pain of betrayal, become indignant, snort at the witty sarcasm, cheer for the bad-ass good guys, thoroughly hate the vicious bad guys, and cry in sympathy for the losses incurred. The book hit all of my emotions ...more

I absolutely LOVED this second book in the Red Zone series. Thank you Janet Elizabeth Henderson for continuing with such an awesome story.

Mace Armstrong meets his match as he sets out to infiltrate the CommTECH press conference by "meeting" their press secretary and "convincing" her to get him a pass to attend so he can bug the head of the bioengineering team and leave. She just happens to be the one person on this planet that is perfect for him, even though she doesn't believe in him or his te

Red Awakening is the second book in the Red Zone series. This is also the first book I've read by this author but it will definitely not be the last..Very different from the books I usually read. There is nothing about this book that I did not love. Mace Armstrong is a Red Zone survivor and woke up 100 years in the future changed. He is a soldier out of place in a new world.

ARC Review: Janet Elizabeth Henderson is the BOMB. Vivid action scenes! Unconventional characters! Sultry, witty dialogue! Sizzling sex scenes! Laugh-out-loud moments! A perfect read leaving you wanting more!!!

Red Awakening, Book 2 in the Red Zone series, takes you on another adrenaline junkie's ride into that futurist world where corporations rule and governments do not exist. Yet goodness prevails in a group of left behind Army Rangers whose survival means staying under the radar. But for how

This book is a serious thrill ride. It had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I am always amazed at how much emotion this author manages to pack into her novels, and this one is an excellent example of that. None of the characters are flat; they are all complicated and real. And I was so glad to finally learn about Mace's animal!

5 Stars aren’t enough! You are immersed in a futuristic time made totally believable by the talent of a true storyteller. The depth of characters portrayed make you feel like you are right there watching everything that is is happening. It’s so real that I jumped in my seat no less than two times and won’t count the gasps and giggles out loud.
There are enough 20th century remains in the futuristic happenings to make it a truly believable world. If you are looking for a futuristic thriller roman

Red Awakening is the second book in the Red Zone series. The characters from the first book make appearances but the book focuses on Mace and his melded animal. He is on a mission to save millions of lives but of course, nothing goes according to plan.

This book continues with all the action, humor, and steamy scenes that expect. It is a fast-paced read that has you smiling while on the edge of your seat. Enjoy!!

This book will make your blood boil, your heart race and drag you to the edge of your seat. There were moments when I wanted to slap some sense into Keiko and high five her at the same time. The book goes from 0 to 100 within pages and does not slow down to give you a break. I absolutely loved the characters and their banter.

I am reviewing this book after receiving an ARC.
Oh, my goodness. I absolutely LOVE this 2nd book in the series. After all the scene setting in the first book, this one hit the ground running. I love Mace and his "little friend". Plenty of action and a shed load of comedy mixed in with some hot sexy stuff. What's not to like?? Janet has once again excelled herself. KEEP THEM COMING 😘

Janet Elizabeth Henderson has done it again with this, book 2, in a brilliantly blended mix of science fiction, romantic comedy, adventure, with a smidge of tragedy mixed in. This book will leave you wanting more in this amazing series.

Read it in one day as I could not wait to find out what was going to happen next. This awesome book is the second in The Red Zone series and they just keep getting better.

This time we follow Mace and Keiko, and what a sit on the edge of your seat this journey was. Loved the scene on the ledge. I'm also afraid of heights, and I could feel every step of terror that Keiko went through. Janet's writing is so raw that you feel all their pain, fear and passion. Can hardly wait for the next

The mission seemed simple enough even for an ex-army ranger out of his element by a century and should have been a walk in the park. Because Mace isn’t the only who breaks into the secure facility and the building is overrun with terrorists. Mace has to find a way out before he compromises himself and the entire Red Zone team to the enemy but there’s no leaving with the woman who inadvertently helped him get inside and she has no idea that she’s calling to the animal that’s been locked inside hi ...more

Fast-paced and action-filled. While Red Awakening can be read as a standalone honestly you are going to be drawn to the other characters and you're going to want to know their story.
Yes, it is a HEA model but for those who are fans of strong females no she doesn't just roll over and accept her fate.

I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This was a great book !
Keiko thought that she found the man of her dreams, but he only wanted access to her company.
Mace did not want to lie to Keiko, but he needed to investigate CommTech.
On top of that, terrorists decided to take over the company that day.
Could this get any worse ?
Now Mace has to escape the terrorist and save Keiko.
Piece of cake, right ?

Red Awakening by Janet Elizabeth Henderson is the second book in the Red Zone series. This is Mace's story, where we finally get to find out what his animal is. You won't be disappointed, and if you're like me, you'd have never guessed it!

Mace is the most vocally grumpy of the team, and it was great to see him meet his match in Keiko. I enjoyed getting to know Mace and Keiko; they are both characters that are easy to like genuinely.

Mace was a big guy with a gentle heart, but his sarcastic mouth landed him in hot water so many times, I lost count. So finding himself paired with Keiko was irony at its finest, because she wasn’t at all what he was expecting! He had as much control with Keiko as he did his other half...nil.

Keiko was a pint sized spitfire wearing rose colored glasses about her employment, but man, once she got riled up...Mace should seriously consider wearing body armor around his bloodthirsty love

Loving this new series!

I just finished Red Awakening, after reading Red Zone, the first book in series. WOW! This is quite a mix of genres! I’m a huge fan of the Invertary books, & find this series just as much fun.
There is humor, suspense, hunky heroes & snarky heroines. And ROMANCE! Feels like nothing is missing. In an earlier blog, author Janet said something to the effect that this would be an experiment for her, & it really works.

Tighter, sexier, and funnier than book 1, Red Awakening truly lives up to its movie inspiration (Die Hard). Where book 1 had to spend a fair amount of time on world building, this book is able to jump straight into the action and takes us for a ride from page 1. I loved Mace and Keiko and they both grow a lot as characters throughout the book. The aspect of book 1 I didn't enjoy as much - the perspectives of the baddies - were much more sparing and short in this one. While that one felt dystopia ...more

I’d not read the 1st in the series but this book worked well as a standalone. The futuristic Earth that the author built was interesting to say the least.
Loads of action and a rather cute romance made this a good read. Keiko, the heroine is spirited, well meaning though rather naively clueless to the nastiness of CommTECH, of which she is the press secretary for. She actually believes that they are the “good guys”.
Mace is her opposite in character. While Keiko is verbose (sometimes t

My first experience with Janet Elizabeth Henderson’s work was the hilarious romance series Invertary. This new series goes in a different direction. This is an action-packed urban fantasy that retains large amounts of humor to go along with the action. The series is similar to Nalini Singh’s Guild Hunter or Psy/Changeling series in that each of the first two books have featured different H/h. Red Awakening is similar, including references, to Bruce Willis’ classic movie “Die Hard.” Can’t wait fo ...more
