I received this ebook in exchange for a review. Review posted on Amazon as well.

New author, and a fantastic first book. A bit different from my usual read, but it definitely grabbed me and held on. Can't wait for the next book. It was a nice mix of fantasy and romance, light but meaningful on the romance. The author did short chapters from several points of view, but it flowed smoothly between the different characters, so you weren't jarred out of the story on the switch. I look forw

A great read about protection. Xenobia Valdis is an alien being who helps young women out of situations and runs her own company. One day, a man comes into her house with a strange request to save his daughter. Xenobia agrees to help but events unravel and soon she has policemen at her door digging for the truth. Can she make sure her girls stay safe?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns. Well developed characters like Xenobia determined but caring underneath or Matt with a gr

I have so many thoughts after reading this author’s debut novel and I'm not sure how to put it all into words, so will try this:

What I loved -
I opened this book prepared for confusion, because debut novels a lot of times do this to me as an author settles in to their comfort zone, but what I love is that the writing felt like I was sitting at a table with this author and she was literally

So I grabbed this book not knowing what it would be about, how many pages, etc. I thought it was going to be a GOT type of story. It is not BUT IT IS JUST AS GOOD!!!!

The story is written in a very unique narrative, the chapters are super short and each is told in a different voice. I still don't know how many pages there are - I tried to read it all at once but I had to go to work. I finished it at lunch and I am very grateful I don't have to punch a time-clock because sometimes bein

What an amazing book to read. It includes the paranormal, paranormal creatures, and the situations that they face. One of the reasons I loved the book so much are the characters. At the top of that list is Xenobia. She is smart, independent, and stubborn. She is also kind and protective of those she cares about. Will she be able to face the danger before her and accept her new role and the responsibilit

The Rise of House Valdis (House Valdis Book 1) by Naomi Valkyrie was a great read and a fantastic start to the series. It is different and unique, interesting and fun, I loved it. I love the way it is told in multiple POV’s as it is the perfect way to get a true feel for the characters. I was blown away by Naomi’s unique narrative that brought the characters and their world to life. It popped off the page taking me on a journey that is easily imagined and full of fantasy and magic and paranormal ...more

What a kickoff to what I know is going to be a great new series. I will start this by saying this is not my go to genre but when a synopsis grabs my attention I have to read it, and this did that and so much more.
I absolutely loved this book. The characters were so well thought out and I never once felt lost or confused, even with the changing of character voices we follow, as they're laid out of who is speaking

The Rise of House Valdis by Naomi Valkyrie is a brilliant debut novel that for me is a must read by anyone who enjoys this genre.
The description of this book caught my attention immediately however the book itself was so much better than I expected it would be. I loved the way the author used short but effective chapters - this made it so much easier to squeeze in a chapter here and there in between a busy week!!!
I absolutely loved the character Xen. She is everything that you want a

The Rise of House Valdis by Naomi Valkyrie is the first book in the House Valdis series. This is a new author for me so I wasn't sure what to expect. I am delightfully surprised to have found a new author to keep an eye on. This story has a lot going on and I do not want to give anything away. Xenobia has a secret she has held onto for 7 years and it comes out when she has to save her friend Maggie. What will happen now that someone knows her secret?
The characters are really interesting an

The Rise of House Valdis (House Valdis Book 1) by Naomi Valkyrie

The Rise of House Valdis (House Valdis Book 1) by Naomi Valkyrie was a fun and romantic read. This novel. Was full of magic and supernatural beings. I loved the variety the author used in creating her characters. She demonstrates a fun imagination especially with main character Xenobia. I kept trying to figure her out at first but wow! I really enjoyed this novel and could not put it down. The author also did a g

I love this! This book pulled me in right from the beginning, I couldn’t put it down until the last page. Her characters made the story come alive and made me feel as if I was right there with them. Xen was given a second chance to start over on Earth. Who knew that one decision could expose so much for her. Now danger is near, will she have to expose her secret? She is a great character that has some trust issues and could use a boost in self reassurance, I loved her. This is a must read.

I absolutely loved this first book by Naomi Valkyrie! It completely hooked me from the very beginning and its definitely one of those books that has a complete original storyline! The characters are what make this story. It's multiple POV but there is so much depth to each of them. My favorite part is the one split second decision she makes and it starts a spiral of events that could expose who she is.

This is the first book in the Valdis series and I'm impatiently waiting for more.

Oftentimes you hear of a new author and hope for the best but open their first work with trepidation. You just don’t expect to be blown away.

You will be blown away by this narrative.

Valkyrie has a unique voice that is brought to life by some incredibly fantastic characters and imaginative, emotional, otherworldly fantasy that will enthrall the reader.

I am thrilled that I put this book in my hands and cannot wait to see what Valkyrie comes up with next!

The Rise of House Valdis is the first intriguing story in the House Valdis series, and debut novel by Naomi Valkyrie. This is a very original fantasy, with sci-fi elements, action, danger, ‘powers’, responsibility, discovery, and more. I fell in love with the cover, before I even knew anything about the book. I wanted to read it as soon as I laid eyes on that gorgeous cover. I was so curious to find out what it was all about and couldn’t wait to dive in.

Wow......what a read! I can’t put into words how incredible this book is! I’ve read many books in this genre, but there was just something about this read that made it that much better! Let's start off by saying how eye-catching and captivating just the front cover is if this doesn’t draw you immediately then read the synopsis which I guarantee will make you not want to put the read down!

I was absolutely captivated from the very beginning with its amazing storyline that's got action, adventure,

Naomi Valkyrie has hit a home run with The Rise of House Valdis (House Valdis book 1). This story has a little bit of mystery, fantasy, sci-fi, actions and danger. Once I started reading, I knew I was going to have to complete the book. Valkyrie ties her characters and the plot line very well. The characters are multidimensional and the plot keeps you on your toes. Story is about Xen and her ability to have a second chance on earth. Xen best friend is Maggie, who is the only one who knows what X ...more

She soon realizes that danger is growing nearer, her secrets could be exposed. She is a great character and I loved her from the beginning. I am very impressed that this is the ...more
