Samantha needs a place to stay ASAP when her living arrangements fall through. She shouldn’t have any trouble resisting her new roommate, despite how much she finds herself connecting with him.
Levi has no interest in the beautiful blonde living in the room next door. She’s not his type. Not even when it turns out she’s nothing like he expected.
She’s only there for the summer, so it shouldn’t be a big deal to act on this attraction before she leaves. It doesn’t have to mean anything, right?
Allie lives in sunny Florida with her husband, daughter, and two cats. A librarian by day, she spends her nights writing happily ever afters. She enjoys reading, playing video games, and all things Disney.
⚜Rate: ★★★★✩
English: "Watch Me" by Allie Winters is the second book in the series "Suncoast University. It is a new adult romance in a university world, very sweet with characters that go from roommates to lovers.
Samantha left home after several problems with her mother, and a few months before going to university, she decides to visit her cousin, and with it look for a place to live these months that she has before classes begin. When she finally finds a place to stay, she meets Levi, her roommate, and although at first, Levi is not interested in Samantha, gradually he won't be able to resist the beautiful blonde.
Again a very sweet book with a very cute couple. This book was a big hope for Samantha because, with a complicated past, a new beginning would have to be the best for her, and it is.
Everything I love most about him is on display. His strong body, arms flexing as he plays, muscled chest rising and falling in time with his words. Thet same body that has countles time held me close, given me pleasure, protected me.
I liked the way Levi was with Samantha, and at all times she was in critical moments that made her doubt. Both characters are perfect for each other. There were several hot scenes to keep the characters on fire.
She’s wild as she nips at my mouth, gripping my shoulders tightly, leaving crescent mark in my skin with her short nails
I also found it very funny that Samantha had problems with equations and was going to start college, how is that possible? But there she had her engineer to help her with that and other things. ⚜Rate: ★★★★✩
Wow. Just wow. That is the end of my review... just kidding. I have way too much to say about Watch Me to end there, but WOW is the best summary I can provide. Watch Me is a slow burn roommates to lovers romance that packs an emotional punch! I loved Samantha and Levi, both individually and together. I hesitate to say more because I don’t want to give anything away.
I thought this book was heartfelt, emotional, romantic, funny and sexy. The perfect combination in a contemporary romance! We saw the return of some of our favorite characters from Let Go and met a great cast of newbies. I sincerely hope that Winters continues the Suncoast University series. I know I have a few characters in mind that I would love to see get their own book!
I absolutely adored this book. I loved Samantha and I loved Levi but them together *sigh* so good! Their story was so great, it was real, it was raw but it was beautiful. This book was so hard to put down. It is so well written and flows wonderfully. You don't have to read the first book in this series to enjoy this one but why wouldn't you it was great too.
I am so excited to read more from this author. Definitely recommend reading this one.
Samantha is such a great character she has to overcome all these obstacles of her less than ideal life. She finally gets a fresh start moving in with her roommates the quirky and outgoing Audrey and the critical cousin Levi. Will Samantha's new living arrangement work or will being close to Audrey and Levi bring complications that Samantha doesn't know how to deal with ?
Will Levi open up and accept Samantha as his roommate or as maybe more ?
Heat Factor: Watch your glasses folks, because this one’s steamy.
Character Chemistry: Drop of a hat, turn on a dime, didn’t know I had a one-track-mind type chemistry
Plot: Scrappy/independent Samantha has to scramble to find a living situation when she’s stuck on her own the summer before college starts. When she finds a room with Levi and his cousin, her problems may be solved – but he’s a barista/songwriter who cooks decadent Italian meals from scratch and he has a healthy relationship with his mom, so you tell ME if this stays platonic. (Nope!)
Overall: Believe me when I tell you that Allie Winters is going to be your new favorite.
I’m so blissfully obsessed with Allie Winters. I am going to christen this author the Secretary of Slow Burns. Or perhaps the Field Marshall of Foxy Times. The High Priestess of Hotness. The Bishop of Boom-Boom.
The Basics – Samantha has to fend for herself when her mother chooses drugs and an abusive boyfriend over her daughter. Samantha’s no slouch, though, and despite her positive, can-do attitude she’s incredibly scrappy. She gets some help from her cousin (we meet him in Book 1 of this series) and ends up rooming with Levi, a moody barista/songwriter who cooks and cleans and is just generally respectful and kind, and his sultry, straight-shooting, bartending lesbian cousin. It’s a sexy set up from the word go.
Why it Works – These characters have their own faults and shadows, but they’re just impossibly likeable. A child from a really dangerously rocky home life isn’t going to get to adulthood without having had to develop some unhealthy coping skills, and it certainly emerges that Samantha fits that pattern. The way Allie Winters handles that situation is done with such grace and dignity…I was so impressed. And just like in Book 1, her characters have a chill level-headedness that was just like a big, cool breath of fresh air. They just feel like people I would have wanted to be friends with.
Who Should Read it – I don’t want to preach here, and not everyone is going to feel comfortable handing someone else a romance novel, but I’m going to say it – young people should read books like this. Young people should read books where women like sex and explore their own sexuality in healthy ways. Young people should read books where women aren’t prone to wild leaps of illogical jealousy or inexplicable helplessness. Young people should read books where men clearly ask for consent and it’s done so well it’s like a match to gasoline. Young people should read books where men are sensitive and are comfortable expressing boundaries and needs.
Also, it’s just a good book. You get sucked right in and by the time it’s over, you feel a little sad because now you’re emotionally invested. You can almost taste that gnocchi Levi made and you were looking forward to the leftovers. Are they going over to Levi’s parents’ house for dinner next weekend, because you were kind of hoping on tagging along…
I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. We disclose this in accordance with 16 CFR §255.
Watch Me is the second book in Allie Winters Suncoast university Series. This is such a sweet book which looks at the characters Samantha (who were introduced to in book 1, Let Go) and Levi. Samantha needs a place to live after being kicked out of her trailer home by her drug addicted mother and sleazy boyfriend. With nowhere to go, she relies on her cousin, Alex and his girlfriend, Charlotte (Book 1) to give her a helping hand. This helping hand comes in the guise of Levi and his roommate/cousin Audrey who need a third person to help with the rent.
Levi doesn’t want to feel attracted to the blonde bombshell which is Sam, he thinks she is nothing but a ‘cheerleader’; beautiful, blonde and with no brains…. boy is he wrong. Samantha may have been brought up on the wrongs side of the tracks, but she works hard for what she wants and has the brains and sweetness to match. These two characters are definitely a cute couple and this is totally a slow burn novel with moments of amazing hotness running throughout it.
There are a few story-lines to follow throughout this story, not only Levi and Samantha’s relationship, but also her relationship with her mum as well as her budding relationships with new people. We also have Levi’s side-line story with his brother and why he is so introverted. The intriguing thing about this story is how well all the characters fit together regardless of their differences and although there isn’t a lot of dram, there is enough of a story-line to keep you enthralled until the end.
If you like sweet, HEA with a side of hotness than I would highly recommend Allie Winters to you. Happy reading!
I am always here for roommates-to-lovers tropes. Allie Winters nailed this one!
Levi and Sam(antha) were such a perfect pairing in this trope. This journey was real, angsty and the best kind of slow burn. There was plenty of drama from both sides, emotional turmoil, and redemption.
Levi is the strong, silent cliche. Yet, Sam(antha) brings something out in him. Can he let go of his hurt and let her in?
Sam(antha) has been through it all (literally walked through the valley of the shadow of death) and yet lives. Not just alive, but LIVES. Can she break down Levi's walls and protect her heart at the same time?
This story had plenty of emotional pull and laughs. I really have enjoyed this series and can't wait for more.
And as always from my reviews, my top quotes of the book:
"Everyone has weird sex dreams rights? Just the other week, Felix was telling me one her had involving Karen and a llama."
"Here, she's in her element, full of life. I'm a moon to her plant, quietly orbiting, following the path she sets."
"What the he** am I doing? Yes, I'd thought about her all day. How to apologize to her. Make it up to her. Not this."
This is only the 2nd book of Allie Winters' that I've read but I am hooked!
Samantha and Levi's story is raw and real. You see these romance novels and think they are the predictable lovey dovey the entire story and nothing can go wrong. But YOU would be wrong to guess that... this is the type of story to make you go through all the feels... happy, sad, angry, swoon worthy...
Sam's life isn't all Rose's with her mother that keeps attracting dead beat druggies and having her things stolen... but without this start, she would have bee thrown in to the lives of cousins Audrey and Levi... wouldn't have met the mysterious dark haired, grey eyed guy that slowly opened up to her.
Levi had a loving family growing up but the thing his brother did caused him trust issues and would open up to anyone... he and his cousin were all but ok to have their old roomie move out and in with his girlfriend... this would lead them to meet the tall blonde and make a lasting relationship.
This was given to me as an ARC and my second read by Allie Winters.
I have been looking forward to Samantha’s book since the end of book 1. And I wasn’t disappointed.
Sam has been through so much in her 19 years of life and I was just hoping and waiting she finally get the break she totally deserved! My heart broke for her in the beginning, all her hard work was gone/taken from her and not anyone was there to help or support her, so she went to the only family she had her cousin Luke.
I just loved Levi from the beginning as well and hoped he was going to turn into someone Sam could finally relay on and be there for her. Man I wasn’t expecting it to be the way it turned out to be but man did I flippin LOVE it!
I loved this whole book and really this series is turning out to be a top 10 for sure!
Watch me by Allie Winters is the second book I’ve read from this author. I really loved this book. From the first page on it had me hooked to the story. It’s about a girl Samantha who didn’t have a place to stay after being kicked out of her mother’s boyfriend trailer. She finds a place sharing it with Audrey and her cousin Levi. Levi is distant in the beginning but turns out to be one of the most amazing (book) guys ever. I just loved Samantha and Levi. If you want to read an amazing story you should all read Watch me by Allie Winters on sale 23 October or in the mean time buy Let go by Allie Winters.
