I’ve been reading and following Joe Kissel’s advice in *Take Control of Upgrading to * books since Leopard in the fall of 2007—not quite as long as he’s been writing them. I have found these guides invaluable as I’ve moved from one version of what’s now called macOS to the next. Good quick ebook on upgrading to Catalina. Probably not necessary for most simple upgrade scenarios. Useful, though, if you're not sure what to expect, or if you just want to make sure you're doing it safely.
