Yes this is a textbook but I read almost the whole thing so I'm going to count it.

I wish there were more pictures and examples of concepts and things that they are trying to explain. Most pages were very dense with words with few examples and even fewer pictures which got quite boring despite being a topic that I am very interested in. I often had to google better examples and definitions, but otherwise it was a very interesting textbook.

Thorough introduction to environmental science, especially if you have no previous formal background in the field (like yours truly). Visuals are accompanied by clear explanations, which I always need and appreciate with a science textbook. This was interesting to read, even though it was for a gen ed class, because it explained concepts well and made everything applicable to life and the world around us.

my first textbook introduction to environmentalism. EYE OPENING BOOK! I was required to read this for intro to environmental studies at UC Davis. It actually had a little secion in the book that highlighted a sustianable community in Davis, though the book was not written by a professor at Davis. The book was very progressive thinking for a textbook.

A basic environmental science text book. Personally, I thought the author was a little too fond of technological solutions to environmental problems (GMOs and nuclear energy are not solutions in my book), but overall, a good, basic textbook.

Provides a fairly good overview of the plight of the environment and offers suggestions to improve it. Fairly depressing but has spurred me to consider more environmentally-friendly methods for achieving my ends.
