Peter “Penis” Caldwell (nickname bestowed courtesy of popular jock, Jackson Davis) didn’t necessarily have a lot of things going for him.

1. See “Penis”.

2. He attended high school in a small town that was as bigoted as it was boring. (Having the audacity to stand out was considered a major character flaw.)

3. He was maybe, sort of, a little bit (a lot) gay.

Not that

I know, I know, I know. Shame on me. I should have just DNFd this once I got moving. Actually, right at the beginning when I felt this was a total Sterek rip-off I should have quit. I didn’t. I kept going and now here we are. I just had to know what was going to happen and where this story was going. So yeah, shame on me because this was bad.

Let’s start at the end with this:

Author’s Note:

Little Red is a variation of a story that has been repurposed/revamped/rewritten by me. It was plotted as a

What the fuck??? In the end, the writer claimed that this story was written and published as M/F under another pen name of her.

This is fucking awful. You don't recycle the same material and just change the fucking gender. And Her "rewrite" has so many grammatical and spelling errors... Don't make me laugh.

Putting the disclaimer in the END of the book not only shows this author's dishonesty, but also shows her shameful behavior of trying to trick readers. No second chance for this writer. Please

Before I gush about how much I loved this book, there are a few things to address up front. There are so many sentences in parentheses and it drove me crazy. I understand the author's intent, but it was unnecessary and distracting. Then there are several misused words that absolutely should have been caught during editing. For example, except being used instead of accept. I was irked enough that I had to rate the book 4 stars instead of 5 stars, but they didn't detract from the story enough to ...more

The most important thing to be aware of is that this is a YA novel. I knew that the MC was young but I thought he would mature in the story taking this into more NA territory. This is not the case in this story but may eventually be true if the author continues the series. So if you are expecting any heat, you'll have to wait it out. All there is currently are 2 attempted rape scenes and 2 kissing scenes. That's not necessarily a bad thing, I love a good slow burn, but it is something I like to ...more

This little gem was a surprise. Most of the YA books within the romance genre fail to make me believe that the character is, in fact, a teen.

Great read. Looking forward to the next in the series

Teen Wolf YA Novel - Caution!!

The author leaves a note at the very end stating that this novel has been repurposed from M/F to M/M. I still dont know if this is a marketing scheme by KU click farm authors and ghost writers. The author also never states what her M/F pen name is, which leads me to believe that they do NOT want readers to find the M/F book and compare its similarities. So far another book hasnt been released.

Aside from that, the book is not MM Romance, its definitely YA. The MC

I could be wrong about this, but I'm fairly positive this was originally fanfic. If you know the show and pairing you'll pick up on it right away and you don't need to know it to enjoy the book. This story stands well on it's own and is interesting and different enough to keep you engaged. I enjoyed it for the most part. There's a few strings left dangling, but hopefully those are addressed in later books. There's a few

Be warned this has all the makings of originally beeing a Sterek fanfiction with a splash of twilight
The plot is so thin its barely there, the relationship is forced, the characters are annoying as all get out. So save your money, time and brain cells and swipe left on this one.

The blurb of this book quickly drew me in and though the first chapter was a bit difficult to get through, mostly because I needed to get used to the writing style, as I submerged in to it fully I found myself loving it completely.

Peter's inner rantings and sarcasm makes this book to what it is, a good story with all the sass and fury from someone that won't let himself be pushed down or ordered around.
Also Damon's insistent need to take care of his pack, and Peter's fierce refusal of that care.

This was sooo good, I really didn’t want it to end! Now to impatiently wait for the sequel, Peter and Damon are going to burn the pages up!

"Little Red" is the first volume of "Big Bad Wolves" series by Queenie Wise. What I loved about this book right away was the fact that it has the YA novel vibe, as we have here a young protagonist who leads a relatively normal private and school life, and who, at some point, gets into some paranormal trouble. What's more, the way he sees the world, reacts to people, events, feelings, or solves the problems, also has this "teenage" vibe. Therefore, reading this novel fills us with this unique ...more

Little Red by Queenie Wise is an awesome story to read. This is book number one in this awesome start to a brand new series writen by a brand new author for me to read. I highly recommend to everyone who loves reading about LGBT and paranormal romances in their stories.

3,5 stars actually, rated down. *

This blurb is fairly accurate - but only for the first fourth of the book. The rest? Quite a different story.

We start out with cutie Peter, 17 years old, having the usual teenager troubles, who then gets bitten by a way too big wolf. Teenager issues continue, we get to know some characters, his family, and some of his life.

But then the kidnapping follows. And that's when the only thing that remains of the fun, more light-hearted school-lifey, YA story is

Peter Caldwell used to have a normal life in Climax,Minnesota. Normal 17 years old life: normal best friend, normal parents, normal high school classes. If only, one faithful night,he hadn't accepted to tag along with his friends who wanted to go to an abandoned house...because he then got bitten by a red eyed wolf.

Nothing about Peter's life was normal after that night. His parents were attacked in their home and Peter forced into a car with five strangers who claim to be werewolves. Oh,also that

This was wonderful! I’m not quite sure what I expected but I really enjoyed this book. I liked that there were the explanations needed for the werewolf culture in this world but I didn’t feel like I was just being told it, we learned along with Peter even when they weren’t so great at explaining things.

Both Peter’s and Damon’s world gets thrown out of whack when Damon scents Peter as his mate and bites him but there are a few things that make Damon take a step back even if he

This is the first time I have read a book by this author & I was impressed & totally captivated by this excellent MM shifter romance. The story-line is well-paced with an exceptional well-written plot that is filled with unexpected situations & life-changing events. The characters are unique & well-developed with complex personalities, some of the characters displayed determination combined with some deviousness to get their goals, while another character struggles to accept a ...more

I absolutely loved this book.
Poor Peter (Little Red) suddenly finds his world imploding all around him.
He's been bit by a wolf, his body is doing freaky things and now his parents are dead.
Surprisingly, not the best situation to find yourself in.
Matters aren't helped by the fact Peter finds himself attracted to the gorgeous alpha, Damon because he's never voiced his attention to guys.
Also, his new pack seems divided on their opinion of his new status.
No one is very forthcoming with information

This was really 4.5 stars for me.
This was such a break from the usual fare that I thoroughly enjoyed it. Loosely based on the fairytale of Little Red Riding Hood it is about a boy who takes a dare to go into a property that his friends think is abandoned and ends up meeting the big, bad wolf. Who bites him. Yep - you read that right.
From there, our hero Peter, ends up going down the rabbit hole into a whole other world that he never knew about. The bite gives him a heightened sense of smell, a

Ok so the author should write better summary

This book surprised me and disappointed me at the same time.
It surprised me because from the description I thought it was going to be a silly over the top poorly written book.....and it was not. It was far better that expected.
It disappointed me because of as it was better than I anticipated however it still missed some fundamental logic and missed to define the intensity of the relation (in my opinion) by revealing only at the end that they were mate.

This is a real slow burn of a book that is very different from the normal shifter books out there and I like that about it.

We have a normal 17-year-old Peter doing what is 17-year-olds do when he is attacked by a wild beast and bitten, changes start to take place, then his parents are attacked and he is kidnapped. This for him throws him into a whole new world he never existed. I love how he reacted to the news about werewolves, I liked how he rebelled against his kidnappers, not giving them

Really disappointed in myself that I went ahead and finished this book - I just kept thinking it would get better. While I liked the main character Peter, I really didn't like Damon, alpha of his newly forced werewolf pack. And I say forced because right after they kidnap him (for his own protection of course) they are all amazed he isn't in love with being a part of their group. Seriously, one of them taunts him over being emotional that his parents were just killed and instead of calling out ...more

Listen to your Momma! Seventeen is a rough year, no longer a child, not quite a legal adult. Delicious! I absolutely enjoyed reading this story. Peter was a typical teenager with all the insecurities, thoughts, confustions and intentions. He was a good son wanting to please his parents, make the proud and not disappoint. Damon was a good guy, responsible, comitted and besotted! I found him brave and wise, credible after being made Alpha so young. Garrett was a good 2nd. Julius, Luca, healer and ...more

Little Red was underwhelming.
The plot had a few holes. Certain things weren’t further explained or explained at all.
The characters weren’t easy to like or enjoy. It was at most times repetitive. Little to no character development.
The action scenes were really nicely paced and written out.
The romance was unrealistic and down right slow, uneventful, and badly moraled. The editing and writing style was frustratingly different because the author kept using the same words to describe and also kept

Could Be Better

The grammar and construction of this book leave much to be desired. I was frustrated to read that it was recently rewritten and this is the result. Here’s and example:

As written - “booboo”’s
Should have been - “booboos”
EVERY instance of a word in quotes is incorrect. Multiple instances of adding an apostrophe to a simple plural noun. Note: Plural nouns do NOT need an apostrophe. I don’t care that everyone else does it - it is incorrect.

As for the storyline that, too, was

I love both YA and MM books, and this was a nice mix of the two genres. A slow burn with some heat mixed in. Little Red is a spin on the Little Red Riding Hood story. The boy, Peter, is out one night late with some "friends" and is attached by an animal. Little by little he starts feeling things change in him and he is also being requested to meet up with someone who has yet to reveal himself. After a little drama, he is introduced to Damon and his clan and taken to a new place to live. Being ...more

All reviews are voluntary and my honest opinion.

I found myself enjoying this more than I initially anticipated. I sometimes have trouble getting into ya romance novels.

The book is low heat, but it never drags. Peter is bright and sassy, he doesn't just complacently do what his alpha says -- yes, sometimes this lands him in trouble, but he's his own person.

It seems Peter is the equivalent of an Omega, called an Alpha-mate in this universe, I believe to distinguish

3.5 stars. This was much better than I thought it would be!

The world was very fleshed out and the pacing was steady. I almost ruptured a vein when that Alpha was accusing Peter that his "allure" is what made his son attempt to rape him (hello #metoo movement, #kavanaughlied) but Darron handled that as it needed to be handled so all is well.

I also appreciated that there were no sexy times really. I mean, Peter is still a minor and as the book
