Highly recommended for anyone wanting to teach online. I've been a nursing educator for years with great engagement with my students, yet I was stunned that my in-person teaching didn't translate to the online world. Rather than giving up, I turned to Rebecca's book and I'm so happy I did. I don't have formal education in Instructional Design, so this book walked me through the kinds of learning, how to organize the information, and how to to use brain-based structure to my courses. It's made all the difference.

I did have to read it through more than once since it is new material for me. Reaching outside my comfort zone stretched me in a good way, and I'm so happy I took the time to learn. It would be much easier for a trained educator, but anyone wanting to make the transition from in-person to online should read this book. If you're new to Instructional Design, be easy on yourself - it's not the "get rich quick" scheme that the online course gurus try to sell, but actual educational principles. Your students will thank you for your efforts!

Ever wondered how to create your own online course?

Packed with actionable and practical advice, Course Design Formula is your go-to resource for anyone wanting to design their own course. It's particularly relevant for today's virtual world.

The book describes the various methods of teaching and how to transfer these ideas to the online classroom. And there is a system to follow to replicate that for yourself. It goes into great detail which was interesting, as some of the concepts were new to me.

If you've ever wanted to create a course, but don't know where to start, buy this book! It is a thorough and authoritative book that will set you up for best success.

Thanks to Rebecca Frost Cuevas for providing such a valuable and well-researched resource!

Did you know about the brain's narrow doorway and the mental containers? Me neither! Until reading this book, it was a bit intimidating to bridge the gap between my knowledge and the course students' mind. So many variables and pieces to put together!
If you're looking for a step-by-step guide easy to use and based on proven successful instructional design techniques... look no further! Written in an engaging and witty style, the book helps us navigate smoothly between course design theory and the brain's way of absorbing information - to make our courses more effective. The book even provides valuable resources to make our course design work more enjoyable. I love it!

This book would be helpful if I was not a teacher. It didn't provide any information that I haven't already encountered. It was overly words and could have been much shorter. However, I think it would be helpful for someone that is not an educator. I have attended many zoom classes and webinaires since COVID and most are poorly done. This book provides information that might make classes taught by entrepreneurs more focused and interesting.

Very structured course on creating an online course

This book was written as a step-by-step guide for people who want to plan and create their online courses quickly Alf successfully. It starts with some necessary theoretical backgrounds, followed by how to implement the system quickly to produce the required result. The language is easy to read and I completed the whole book in few days and I'm ready to implement what I learnt.

Excellent Formula for online course design

I'm so glad I read this. I'm developing seminars on complex political and theological topics using the primary learning domains of verbal info, mindset change, and intellectual learning. Rebecca is warm, honest, well-studied and informed. Her teaching is about helping the student experience transformative learning, and I have!

Very helpful summary of key learning techniques

As a curriculum designer, I know most of what this book covers intuitively, but to have it laid out in such a clear and concise way it’s extremely useful. Glad I read it (and took e-notes)!

This book really helped me get organized for teaching online.
I read it after one semester of teaching in a virtual environment and I think the experience helped me to connect the ideas in the book with real-life practice. Recommend.

I had the privilege of reading an early release copy of the Course Design Formula: How to Teach Anything to Anyone Online and as an Instructional Designer, by profession, I would highly recommend this book to anyone considering launching an online course or working in the course development realm.

The author clearly defines her process, and throughout the book, she also provides plenty of reference points and specific actions the learner can take to build a solid online course. The author also blends theory with practice in a painless way making learning about Bloom's Taxonomy and Gagne seem like child's play.

Definitely a must have book for anyone considering breaking into the world of online course development.

In my industry, everybody wants to create an online course. However, it's not simple to create a course that truly gets results for the students. It's not just about putting a bunch of information together and assuming people will take action. That's why I loved this complete guide about how to properly design an online course. So fascinating to discover how people learn! When your students see results, they will refer other people your way and that's how you can truly grow a successful business. I’m exciting about implementing what I learned, and highly recommend this guide if you are monetizing your expertise. 5 stars!

Its ok.. but with a couple of anoyances

Its an ok book since outline quite nicely some basic principles on education and how to implement them on an online course (nothing new dough).

The author spend too much time doing adds of her own online program and asking you to sign up on her email list over and over.

Moreover, I find that quite few of her information is super old, for instant sugesting skinner Operant Conditioning Theory to develop attitudes.

So, if you are not a teacher, and dont mind reading author advertising about herself and her online course you a may enjoy and learn with this book.
