His prison lives in his very bones. She holds the key that could free him…or break him.

Haunted Hearts is the final book in the Witches of Canyon Road series by Christine Pope and I am a big fan of the author but…I feel lukewarm about this book. I couldn’t connect with either Elena or Alessandro. Both Elena and Alessandro had ongoing issues stemming from childhood, Elena exhibited determination and perseverance while Alessandro just kind of went along with whatever others wanted. The first part of the book I didn’t feel any real chemistry between them. I did thoroughly enjoy both ...more

Just finished book number eight and find that it was the last in this series. It's sad that it is all but I'll just migrate to Christine's next series. I know I'll enjoy it as well. I've read a lot of her stories and I'm impressed with the broad range of subjects her mind conjures up. She just doesn't write a bad story so if you are wanting to be entertained pick one up, and I suggest you start with book one of this series.

I just finished Haunted Hearts and absolutely loved it, While it had a little less kinetic magic perhaps, the subtle energy of Pope's Magic filtrated into the blooming adoration between Elena and Alessandro and a very satisfying conclusion to the Costello and Escobar rivalry. We get an additional glimpse into Ava and Gabriel's relationship as they plan for their up-coming wedding, noting a flourishing of Ava's confidence as she speaks with Alessandro; we are privileged, also, to note an equally ...more

Elena is relishing her newly found freedom, away from the solitary existence her father and grandmother forced her into. But when Ava went to El Salvador, she did kind of leave Elena as a loose end! Elena is afraid of contacting the Prima, Miranda, in case she is made to return home. So she decides to "housesit" whilst Ava is away.

Little does she know that in Central America Ava & her mate have decided that Alessandro needs t get away from the negative attention his talent brings. The clan

Haunted Hearts Book 8 of Christine Pope’s Witches of Canyon Road is amazing. Elena Salazar having been previously rescued from her 11 years imprisonment by her Father and Grandmother decided that living in the empty house of her cousin Ava Castillo was the next step for her continued freedom. After settling in, and to her surprise, Alessandro Escobar, a warlock from the Salvadorian Clan, shows up to reside in the same house. Between Victoria the resident “Friendly Ghost”, Elena, Alessandro and ...more

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Haunted Hearts by Christine Pope is the final book in the Witches of Canyon Road series. This series was a spin-off of the amazing Witches of Cleopatra Hill series. This series ends with Elena and Alessandro's touching story. Two people who find what they didn't know they could ever have in each other. I absolutely loved this series and thought the way it closes is so satisfying. Here is a must read series that has so many incredible characters that it's hard to ...more

I soooo want 2 kick her family's asses!! I can't believe that her dad let his mom pull all that shit any treated her badly and he didn't do anything. She should have threw that in her face and c if she denyed it or admitted the truth of her feelings. I don't understand if they all get a stipend what happened 2 theirs? Why take hers and lie saying it was 4 her when it wasn't!! I loved her demon belshe her best friend 4 yrs. He should get a mate like loc did. Even though alexandro lied by not ...more

The concluding book to the Witches of Canyon Road series, was a good one. We get the story of Elena and Alessandro as they both work through their own problems in a shared environment. The pair really didn't want to interact with another at first, instead with the ghost and demon that reside with the pair. It's not my favorite ending or book in the series but I did enjoy the story and am glad that both Elena and Alessandro got their happy ending. I did recieve an ARC but this not affect my ...more

I've enjoyed both of the Witches series and am sad to see it end. I was glad to get closure and a happy ending on both Elena and Alessandro, as they both were dealt a rotten hand. I kept reading on to find out whether Elena's relatives would get their comeuppance. Keep the stories coming, Christine :-)

I loved this book so much and was sad to discover that this concludes the series. Elena and Alessandro are so perfect together.
