I just added this to my Amazon Wish List. I must have it. It is written beautifully for children, and can benefit adults as well.

Beautiful guided meditation book for the classroom. Lots of great questions to ask your students. Meditation. Mindfulness. Breathing. Calm.

Great book for helping kids get into meditation, without actually saying the word meditation.

I did not start mediating until I began yoga roughly four years ago. I remember being in my first yoga class and unable to truly unwind and relax enough in order to be present in the moment. It was in that moment that I realized I was letting life take over, I was not present, I was stressed out and not appreciating the tiny moments. It took a lot of practice but eventually I was able to learn how to breathe properly, how to turn my mind off and be present in the moment. This is a skill that I ...more

A great introduction to meditation! Brought back all of the hours of meditation we did for our black belt requirements. Makes me want to find a couple minutes of meditation in my schedule today

This book is one of the most successful meditation books I have seen for young people. It promises to be a guided meditation for children and really lives up to that. Both the text and the images work together to carry children through a series of breath and imagery exercises that will lead to calmness and being centered. It is presented as an adventure where you first pay attention to the sound of your breath. You then picture your thoughts and allow them to blow away with your breath like ...more

Endorsements:
“Each page invites readers to notice the present moment without judging what is or changing it to something else. This is mindfulness. . . . A wonderful read-aloud meditation for the beginner — or the practitioner of beginner’s mind — of any age.”
— Kirkus (starred review)

“Soothing watercolor illustrations by Brittany R. Jacobs lead children through the process of stripping away the stresses of the day with thoughtful prompts. . . . With a diverse cast of characters and illustrations

I'm really enjoying the boom in meditation/yoga books for kids lately, but I'm not sure this is the best example of the subgenre. Authored by a high school teacher, it's a little... long... for the intended audience. That said, I think it could be great for a children's yoga class or a children's meditation retreat.

I'm super proud of this book—lovely, whimsical illustrations, peaceful + practical guided meditation. Great for antsy kids who need to calm down before bed, or after a tough day at school when emotions are running high.

I would have liked this to be just a tad bit longer, but loved it for what it was. Picture book for any possible future grandkids. Can't wait to read it to someone!

I liked this one but it was a bit over my preschooler’s head. I think it would be perfect for Kindergarten and up.
