I received a free copy of this book from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.

Resistance tells the story of Kamali and how she joins the resistance. I always liked Kamali's character and it's been great to see a bit more of her in this novella. We see her dance and find out how she's living and then how everything changes when the resistance approaches her. We see the people she interacts with and what she believes and why she joins the resistance, which was great.

I love this whole series and Résistance is a wonderful story showcasing the beauty, talent. and strength of Kamali LeClair. She is an amazing dancer and uses her gift to further her cause.

Résistance dropped me right back into the Singularity world, where the concept of that world is so foreign to me, but one that Susan Kaye Quinn has made very real. It is so easy to become engrossed in her creative story-lines.

The Singularity series and the Stories of Singularity are amazing stories that I hig/>

I certainly enjoyed getting a glimpse into how Kamali joined the Resistance, and her background in Paris. It felt a little different than the other stories because of the perspective given. I already had an opinion of Kamali, have read hundreds of pages by her side, so this felt almost like a step in reverse. It did, however, make a great lead-in to the final book in the series. It has rekindled the excitement I felt at the end of The Illusory Prophet. It's got me feeling excited to delve back i ...more

A novella from the Singularity world, this is Kimali LeClair's story. This is about her dance, why she dances, and why she turned to the resistance. I love Susan Kaye Quinn's stories, always have, but these novellas let us get really close to her characters, let us get to know them, and I like that. Kimali the dancer had intrigued me when I met her previously, I guess because I can't even phantom someone who can dance that good. This is a really good short story and fits in this world well I can ...more

If you've always wondered about Kamali's past, here's the short story (novelette?) that will answer your questions. In Resistance, Quinn delves into Kamali's bitterness and the reason why she keeps defying the ascender, and explores the dynamics at play around her recruitment into the Resistance.

It's a perfect short read that eases you back into the world of the Singularity.

I received a complimentary copy from the author. Opinions expressed in this review are completely m
