This cookbook is the first that I have seen on this subject. Although the recipes look good, I was annoyed that many recipes were not 5-ingredients. The majority of the recipes would use onions or garlic as one the five ingredients and other times they wouldn't count. It's misleading. The other components not counted part of the five would be spices and oil, which is perfectly fine because it was consistent across the board.

Great collection that has a good nutritional breakdown, as well as substitution tips for those with a more lenient diet. There are also flavor boost ideas with some recipes and other ideas for how to make it your own. There are labels on each recipe for “Dairy-Free”, “Gluten-Free”, “Vegetarian” and/or “Vegan”.

Most of the recipes are not five ingredients. I have no trouble eating healthy delicious pescatarian fare, but found this book mostly unappealing.

Only one chapter of fish recipes. The title feels a bit misleading...

"The Easy 5-Ingredient Pescatarian Cookbook: Simple Recipes for Delicious, Heart-Healthy Meals" offers 75 simple, quick, and delicious recipes based on nutritional powerhouses such as fish, vegetables, legumes, fruits, nuts, and grains. In general, those who follow a "Pescatarian" diet eat no other meat than fish, and they may or may not include eggs and dairy. Author and registered dietician Andy DeSantis advises that research shows that eating fish offers many health benefits, and fish also has nutritional characteristics that are not found in any other animal or plant-based foods. Replacing sources of saturated fat in your diet with the healthier types of fat found in fish, soy, nuts, and seeds can lead to improved heart health and overall well-being. Before making significant changes in your dietary lifestyle, consult with your primary care provider to see what will work best for you. This book offers excellent advice on types of seafood, nutritional benefits, how to shop and stock the Pescatarian kitchen, and the recipes are simply delicious. Here are some of the delicious dishes you can make: "Peach Muesli"; "Peanut Butter Pancakes"; "Shrimp Ginger Soup"; "Leek and Potato Soup with Smoked Salmon"; "Asian-Style Cobb Salad"; "Simple Vegetable Saute"; "Ginger-Lime Rice with Shrimp"; "Speedy Jambalaya"; "Traditional Succotash"; "Pan-Fried Trout and Fingerlings"; "Baked Salmon with Kale and Peppers"; "Melon-Lime Sorbet"; "Mandarin Ambrosia"; and "Flourless Dark Chocolate". I can recommend "Speedy Jambalaya", and I encourage you to double the recipe--it's tasty, warming, and filling, and it disappears quickly! It's a family-friendly recipe--add extra "heat" if desired.

Great cookbook for the Pescatarian! Five ingredient recipes make for great weeknight suppers with no excuse for eating out. Easy to read. Easy to find ingredients. Easy to prepare.

Great cookbook to add to your collection if you/your family eat a lot of seafood. Would make a great gift with special seafood tools in a basket as a wedding gift or even Christmas.

I’m not much of a fish eater (mainly shellfish, but not salmon or tuna), so I wasn’t sure this book would be for me. I was happy to find that it offered lots of options for not just fish recipes, but other vegetarian recipes as well! I’m slowly transitioning into being a vegetarian, and this book was a great place to start!
