Love Hurts Duet #2

Love You Now

Rate this book
I should have told her everything.

How much I loved her.
How much I’ve always loved her.
But I didn’t.
I couldn’t.
I just wasn’t made that way.

Instead... I claimed her.
Teased her.
Taunted her.
Worshipped her.
Until... I broke her.

My best friend.
My savior.
My girl.

From my mind to my heart, to every single bone in my body.
She owned me.
I was hers.

Every look.
Every kiss.
Every touch.
Every tear.

It was always her.

The only thing I feared more than losing her was forgetting her.
I hated how much I needed her.

She was mine.
Always and forever.

I hated her then.

But Harley Jameson was about to find out how much…

I LOVED her now.

LOVE-YOU-NOW

'LOVE YOU NOW' is the second full length romance book in M. Robinson's 'Love Hurts' duet. It picks up where the first book left off. Flits from past to present and is spoken in 'Dual POV's' 2ir3yw5

'𝕵𝖚𝖘𝖙 𝖑𝖎𝖐𝖊 𝖎𝖓 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝕲𝖆𝖗𝖉𝖊𝖓 𝖔𝖋 𝖊𝖉𝖊𝖓, 𝕴 𝖋𝖊𝖑𝖑 𝖎𝖓𝖙𝖔 𝖙𝖊𝖒𝖕𝖙𝖆𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓. 𝕻𝖊𝖔𝖕𝖑𝖊 𝖍𝖆𝖛𝖊 𝖇𝖊𝖊𝖓 𝖒𝖆𝖐𝖎𝖓𝖌 𝖇𝖆𝖉 𝖉𝖊𝖈𝖎𝖘𝖎𝖔𝖓𝖘 𝖘𝖎𝖓𝖈𝖊 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖇𝖊𝖌𝖎𝖓𝖓𝖎𝖓𝖌 𝖔𝖋 𝖙𝖎𝖒𝖊. 𝕴 𝖙𝖔𝖔𝖐 𝖆 𝖇𝖎𝖙𝖊 𝖔𝖋 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖋𝖔𝖗𝖇𝖎𝖉𝖉𝖊𝖓 𝖋𝖗𝖚𝖎𝖙 𝖚𝖓𝖉𝖊𝖗 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖕𝖎𝖊𝖗 𝖙𝖍𝖎𝖘 𝖜𝖊𝖊𝖐𝖊𝖓𝖉, 𝖇𝖚𝖙 𝖙𝖗𝖚𝖘𝖙 𝖒𝖊 𝖜𝖍𝖊𝖓 𝕴 𝖘𝖆𝖞...𝕴𝖙 𝖜𝖆𝖘 𝖞𝖔𝖚, 𝕴 𝖜𝖆𝖘 𝖘𝖜𝖆𝖑𝖑𝖔𝖜𝖎𝖓𝖌, 𝖓𝖔𝖙 𝖍𝖊𝖗.'

This book/this duet was one of my most highly anticipated reads this year, I needed it/ wanted it in my life! Needless to say it lived up to my hype!
The angst in this duet was off the charts! The too & fro these two characters put us readers through made us bow down to the Queen of Angst yet again!

thumbnail-LYN-CAMERA-TEASER

After closing out of that last chapter I felt like I’d been through hell and back! I even looked like I’d been pulled through a hedge backwards! These two characters never had a smooth sailing from their friendship to later on through their relationship they fought tooth and nail, they were like two tornadoes always at war with each other, and we were caught up in their storm, the pranks, the world of hurt they laid at the others feet made for an emotional heartbreaking journey.

thumbnail-LYN-BABY-GIRL-TEASER

One minute my heart and head were at war when a curveball came at me out of nowhere, I had nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, my heart broke, I wanted to stop reading, why oh why would you rip my heart to shreds like that! And that's when I saw our hero in a whole new light. He slayed me with everything he was.

ok let's go the bets ...

Like ALL the other books by this writer H will fuck all the women around, love it but of course always love the h who will witness it all. While h will give her virginity to H (hopefully not) but soon after he will have to puncture her again and again and again but he is irresistible and has a golden dick so she will always love him and never have a satisfying relationship. So after having sex with all the women around and never having an SDT H will take his head off ass and say he always loved her and fucked all these women to be able to forget her and was scared because of some shit from his past blah blah blah blah blah HEA.

If there is one thing that I can depend on when it comes to M.Robinson’s books is that she knows how to bring the angst and drama!!! You know these characters are going to be flawed but you’re going to love them anyway. Your heart is going to suffer some damage, but you know what? It’ll be worth it

Love You Now is the continuation in the tumultuous relationship between Harley Jameson and Jackson Pierce. Sworn enemies before they talk, this duo made the average pranks look like a walk to the candy store. Now told between the past and the present in dual pov’s, we finally get to see if Harley and Jackson can be around each other long enough without someone going into the ICU and if the connection they have, can be something more.

28430856._SY540_.jpg

With some unexpected surprises, shocking twists and more drama than you know what to do with, this book is guaranteed to keep you on your toes! I was a nervous wreck the first of half of this book and please don’t get me started on the angst because my blood pressure was not normal! As I’ve said before, I love M.Robinson books and I’m such a huge fan of her writing. She has always managed to make her readers feel everything with her words and I love that.

Now I have to say without giving too much away, I had a really big problem with the plot twist and I felt that it was unnecessary because it changed the entire dynamic of a lot of relationships and in return, we were given more drama that was uncalled for and lack of communication. Aside from that, I did enjoy the journey that Jackson and Harley went on and I’m happy with the way things ended. Now as for the other characters that are getting their book? We’re going to need hard liquor, a referee, police escort, an on call doctor, and lots and lots of prayers! And I cannot freakin wait for it!!

Again I said let’s see how she does with this one. I’m sorry but it’s the same story just different names. He looses his virginity to OW and h witnesses it and after he’s with the OW. But I guess he stops after. Cause you know the other girl is a slut. Really that’s so wrong.
h gets pregnant by her best friend cash but H still marries her anyway and raises the baby girl like his own. Of course while married to h the H got her thinking he’s cheating on her. Cause more drama. All of this is happening cause he thinks he’s got Dementia. At least that’s his excuse. Really. Finally finds out he doesn’t then HEA.

The TWIST, happening practically almost at the end, where it's revealed the child Jackson claimed as his is Cash's, killed the story for me.

It made me dislike and hate so much Cash I'm no longer interested in his story when before I couldn't wait for it.

Sometimes the desperate need to throw curveballs at the readers and shock them ends up killing their enjoyment... mine was instantly destroyed.

Enemies-to-Lovers | Romance Duet

Love You Now is the second book in the Love Hurts duet. These books MUST be read in order! If you enjoy an angsty enemies-to-lovers series this duet needs to be on your TBR. I can't remember the last book that made me feel so STRESSED while reading! I also think it's worth mentioning that these books are very SLOW BURN. I had so much anxiety when it came to Jackson and Harley's potential relationship because of it.

That being said, I love how Monica wrapped up Jackson and Harley's story. She even set us up for the next book (or duet) which makes me really excited! I cannot wait to see how their love story begins (I won't say WHO because I don't want to spoil it but it sounds SO DAMN EXCITING!).

I'm going to keep this review short and sweet because anything I say could become a spoiler. So I;ll leave it at this: Monica Robinson writes AMAZING books and this is one of my absolute favorite duets! Jackson and Harley had a tough story, but being with them on their journey was so worth the emotional roller coaster. This book is told in different time frames as well, and you will get a really good look at where they began, what stood in their way of finally loving one another, and how things slowly begin to come together. When the time frames changed I got a little worried because I thought it would become confusing but that wasn't the case at all! Monica is a PRO! So make sure to pick up this duet. You won't be disappointed!

#HARLEYANDJACKSON4EVER

Five EMOTIONAL stars for HARLEY and JACKSON 💜🖤!!!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I didn't read any book by M. Robinson before "Hated You Then", so that book was my introduction to her writing.

I loved "Hated You Then" and I thought I knew Monica's writing style.

But, I was so wrong!

I knew nothing and "Love You Now" proved me that.

When I started reading the second book from the "Love Hurts Duet", I was a little lost because I totally forgot that in the prolog of "Hated You Then" Harley said that she was pregnant.

So, I needed to reread that prolog to remind myself of this essential fact.

This book shattered my heart.

Happiness.

Sadness.

Anger.

Anxiety.

Sadness again.

And in the end finally happiness.

Those are all my emotional trough the whole book.

This was a really hard book to read because it emotionally exhausted me.

Maybe this wouldn't happen if I didn't read this book in one day (two days but the most emotional part in one day).

There was one moment in the book at the end of one chapter (I don't remember exactly the number of it) in which was the sentence that was written with capital letters and that sentence broke the last piece of my heart.

That was the moment when I almost decided to not finish the book because I couldn't take it more.

When I wanted to scream and to throw my Kindle into the wall.

"What you Monica doing this to me?"

"What you are else hiding?"

"Is this the last moment I will cry or there is more and they will ruin me entirely?!"

The answer to these questions is that Monica wrote the most emotional book I've read lately, but she made up it with all this in the end and gave her characters what they all deserved.

"Love You Now" is the romance book which shows you that one little maybe at the moment harmless decision can change your life years later and the way you won't expect.

Forever.

But, also we all only humans who make mistakes but we always trying to be better and learn from our mistakes.

And that was what Jackson did.

Harley and Jackson's relationship is complicated from the beginning.

They know each other for the whole of their life and they also hate each other but how they became older their hate turns into love.

The love that they were scared to admit themselves, let alone each other.

Harley is a strong female character who always stands for herself and the people she loves.

But, unfortunately, she fell in love with Jackson (even if she didn't want to admit that), the boy she knows her whole life, her bully because she saw through his walls and wanted to be the one who will save him from himself.

Jackson is a male character for whom you get at first impression that he wants to bully the girl he hates without any good reason.

But, the truth is far from that.

In this book, he showed his true face and how good his heart was.

He has melted my heart with his protective attitude towards Harley and the unborn child.

His behavior in the first book is a consequence of a tragic past.

When he was young, he lost the most important person in his life and that changed him forever.

From that moment, he became another person.

He was scared of that what will the future bring him.

And that is why his and Harley's relationship was hard with a lot of ups and downs.

Deep inside they wanted to be with each other but sometimes you need to confront your fears to get what you want.

Your fairy tale.

Your happily ever after.

Monica is the QUEEN of angst.

I hope I will soon read another book by her because her writing style is unique that touches your heart and soul.

P.S. I can't wait to read Cash and Journey's story!

Highly recommended!!!

I have no one but myself to blame...

- too much flashback
- too much rouning in circles
- repetitive dialogue
- and then that bomb; oh please; I hate it...

Well now that my heart has finally patched itself back up let me go into the review shall we? This is book two in the Love Duet and starts up right after the jaw dropping cliffhanger we were left with in Hated You Then. Taking place between their teens to 20’s this gives us the full picture of the love/hate relationship that Jackson and Harley still have together. They do not have an easy ride together and as always this is told from past to present intertwined. Of course there’s more MC cameos from our favorite daddy too. Be careful Jackson, if Creed doesn’t hurt you I might!!! LOL I cannot say too much as it would give away the whole story but Jackson...when you’re not sweet, you really are dumb sometimes! Ugh!! Get ready for all the feels with with one. “Gremlin, you had to hate me to love me.” I just went through an emotional rollercoaster in the best possible way. Get ready! Told in dual POV

UUUHHH! I will be in the minority AGAIN!!!BUT, this trash!! I did not like Harley! You don't sleep with your best friend and get pregnant by him!! Cash gotta watch another man raise his child! These are the same recycled stories over and over. I knew from the PHD ,Cash was gonna be the real baby daddy. This is not a good story. So, now Jackson wife and sister gonna screw the same man. I still don't understand the push and pull betwthe MC... I guess Journey will twerk her panties off to get Cash whose about 12 or 13 years older!

***3,5 "You belong to me!!!" stars***

"It was the beginnin' of the end of us.
Now we were an illusion.
An act.
A charade..."

OMG!!!! I can't believe that i did it, but hell, after many days that I'm troubled of how to rate and review this book, i came into that result!!!!
I'm so sorry, Monica!!!! You and everybody else know how much I love your characters and these goddamn antsy as hell stories of yours, but i feel betrayed in a way!!!! So, it was the only way... And I feel sooo bad cause it's the first time that my rating for you is less than 4,5 stars!!! Arrrrr...
I'm even mad with myself now, but I couldn't not speak my heart out!!!

"I hate you, Jackson Pierce. Do you hear me? I fuckin' hate you."
"You don't mean that. You're just mad at me."
"I hate you for destroying us! You did this. Not me."

Well, this was the second part of this duet which i was anticipating for months!!!!
My beloved Jackson and Harley got their own story and what story was that!!! Full of bumps, hateful pranks and hurtful actions!!!! Both of them were at fault... Both of them hurt each other very much!!!
And honestly, i was wondering how they will mend things after all!!!
And i have to say that i got disappointed in a way!!!!

"We hate each other, yeah? It'd never work between us."
"Really? 'Cuz it sure as shit has been working since we were kids."
"What? All we ever done is torture each other. What would you call that?"
"Fuckin' foreplay."

For once again, Monica was moving us back and forth between past and present!!! The truth is that i would preffer to had stick in the present to this book!!!! But i understood why she did it, even though i don't agree much!!!
Harley in here was a great pain not only in Jackson's ass, but in ours too!!!! From time to time, i wanted to struggle her with all this bullshit that she was caring on doing and telling... She was irritating with all this stubborness.... and that she was relying so much in all this misunderstandings without talking out them first with the person that she should... Jackson!!!
Her persistence and general behavior toward him was unacceptable!!! I'm still fuming inside after all these days!!!!

"I know you don't hate me. You've never hated me. I know 'cuz I've never hated you."
"What are you sayin'?"
"I'm sayin' what I've known all my life. You're mine, Harley Jameson. End. Of. Story."

"Rudolp, we hated each other."
"Gremlin, you had to hate me to love me. I don't give a flying fuck what you say, I know in your heart I'm still the boy you've always wanted, needed, loved."

Nope, Jackson wasn't a saint himself, but that boy was trying!!!! He was trying so hard to bring her back to him...She was his life and he was trying to make her realize it too, but she was sooo damn stubborn!!!
I love you Jackson!!! Dumb her sorry ass and come to marry me instead!!! LOL!!! I'm just kiding!!!!
Jackson in here, unlike Harley, seemed more mature and he had focused only to his family!!!
But Harley was stucked in the past....

"It's like overnight you went from this baby girl, who I never wanted near me, to this girl I want by my side. The same girl I don't even recognize anymore, and it scares the absolute fuck out of me. You want to know why?...
'Cuz I don't know if it's from you growin' up right in front of my eyes, of if it's 'cuz I'm losin' my goddamn mind right in front of yours."

"I've wanted you for as long as I can remember, Harley. I should have known what you meant to me. Instead, I claimed you the only way I knew how... by teasing you, taunting you, worshipping you, until I broke you.
My best friend.
My savior.
My girl.
...
I'm yours. I pushed you away, I hurt you, I bullied you 'cuz at the end of the day, the only thing I fear more than losing you... is forgetting who you are."

Phew!!! There are more things!!!! Ugly things!!! Totally unnecessary things, in my opinion!!!
There was a twist in here that changed everything and i didn't like it. I can even say that this twist left me heartbroken all over again and i'm afraid of what will happen next!!!
NO! I DIDN'T LIKE THIS FUCKING TWIST AT ALL and I'm angry!!!!!

"Stay away from my girl, McGraw."
"Which one?"

And yes, I want to learn more about that sneaky bastard Cash and if he will end up with Journey, but.... I'm so mad at him!!!!
Monica, honestly, that shit wasn't necessary!!! Now I'm hurt and in so much agony!!! I feel like i didn't get my HEA after all!!!!!

"From my mind to my heart, to every goddamn bone in my body.
She owned me.
I was hers."

REVIEW: 4 STARS
"She was a fuckin' vision I was addicted to."

ALL the smiles!!!! If ever there was a finale that had me concerned (but obviously produced a smile throughout), it was this one! Not concerned as in she won't be able to meet the rush the first one gave me, but more along the lines of how is this story going to play out when it can go so many different ways!!! So.Many.Ways. I knew there was going to be a twist coming that rocked my understanding of the foundation of this very story, and sure enough - Robinson nailed it.

A few things raised my eyebrows, a few made me say "yeah sure" with a questionable eye, and some of it was entirely predictable - BUT , I never put it down once I started it. I was immersed in Jackson and Harley's world and was completely caught up in their turmoil. I love that Jackson and Harley's age allowed the innocence and the ridiculous remarks to actually work in their favor, not only giving the young adult angsty side of it, but also providing just enough comedy to lighten the mood every few pages. But I think the most amazing thing to see was Jackson's determination, through thick and thin, to get his point across to her. He was headstrong and stubborn - not saying she wasn't, but also overly cocky and had the pride of a grown man - none of which truly concerned me because the cockier, the better, in general. As long as it's justifiable, and with Jackson it was.

"She was like an angel and a demon at the same time. She was sinful as much as she was heavenly in my arms."

The underlying message, the meaning behind everything, was so carefully placed in these books, I loved seeing it all come together. I loved discovering right along with Harley how much love Jackson had for her - how far he would go to show it in his own ways, and how every single action and word meant something. Of course, looking back as it all came to light was a great thing to see. Jackson's confidence worried me in some aspects because of how tenacious he was, and how many women would put up with that much drama? That much turmoil? That much pain just to get the love they knew they deserved? Well, it definitely took a strong woman and Harley was just the one to wrangle him in and keep him in check, with her knee or her mouth. It was definitely smile-inducing to the very end, and I'm so very thankful for that.

And I must admit, the cover model for these books was the perfect "picture" for me to see Jackson Pierce and how sexy he really was, because it kinda brought the story more to life for me. Sometimes picturing a character is the hardest thing for me to do, which I find really weird - especially if the author is painting a great picture with their words, but characters are always seen through my 'own eyes' because of my life experiences and such, so seeing her vision for him really put the icing on the cake. So fitting.

Robinson did such a great job making this a standalone duet from her spinoff of her Good Ol Boys series. I really can easily recommend this as a first read of hers for any newbies, all the way to a great way to jump back into the first world of hers to the regular readers. With this duet being the kids from her kids from her Good Ol Boys series (did you follow that?), there was enough of a separation between storylines and little to no knowledge necessary about Creed and Mia to understand their dynamic and how they played into this series. While there was some action from them, it was negligible in terms of required knowledge to continue the flow with this duet. However, I am going to say that she set up at least two more books from this duet alone for other characters, and I am anticipating some angst and drama coming from the next one and I am perversely excited about them. It's so wrong and so good on a whole different level!!!

—> This one actually had me sprouting tears....don't tell anyone.

My favorite duet of 2019!

I know I say this on every review but M killed it with this storyline! Love You Now is a must-read, unputdownable sequel that will leave you wanting more! I loved Harley and Jackson’s dynamic. These characters are flawed and frustrating, but I couldn’t help loving them! M never lets us down and redeems her asshole heroes! I highly recommend you read this duet if you love enemies-to-lovers stories! Alas, I’m sad it’s over, but I’m excited for more of this world!

Heart in my hand M. Robinson I give to you because no one can affect it as much as your hauntingly beautiful words! Angst, hate, pain, hope and above all love! Your books are packed with it all and show just how brutal and magnificent love can be!

Jackson and Harley are anything but normal but when you’re broken you don’t need to be normal you just need someone to hold you while you fall apart! Harley was Jackson’s stronghold! The push the pull she was his rock! In the process of understanding life they started to both break each other yet neither was whole unless the other was around! Their love is a mess but it was theirs! Through the pain and the torture one thing always remained; their bond!

Going back and forth from when they were younger to their now really added to their dynamic and shed light on the why’s and the how’s of their personalities! Though I wish both books were one I loved their story still!

Emotional story about past and present and things can haunt you and you don’t know if you can ever forgive. Harley and Jackson have this real hate to love romance and you definitely don’t know what’s gonna happen next with them. Many twist and turns and emotions that make you feel raw and feel each characters personalities. Jackson we see a new side to him and he made me swoon hard over and over in this book. Harley I have a hate love for her in this book she drove me crazy sometimes but that’s her being hard headed self. Great enemy to lover series! 5/5 stars

5 Name Callin Ball bustin stars!!!

Well I will say this...I’m so glad this wasn’t a cliffy because at 70% I was freakin scared!!!

I don’t know if I loved this one as much as I loved the first book. I mean, it was great and I did love Harley and Jackson’s story, but she really really made me mad! I wanted to punch her right in the throat.

I can’t really give anything away because this has to be spoiler free, that said I’ll start with what I loved...

The format was brilliant! I was so not expecting it! Told in alternate POV from present to past. It totally surprised me when this one started. I thought we would pick right up where we left off...
That didn’t happen until later on in the book. I think this added to the story.

The twist...NEVER SAW IT COMING!!!!😱😱😱
It was done in M. Robinson style too...shocking you to the core outta no where!

The one thing that resonated with me is that Harley Jameson could hold a freakin grudge like no other. It also made me really pissed with her, she could not let go of the past. How can you move forward if you can’t forgive?? This was a huge plot point in this book, what happens when you don’t forgive...it eats away at your core and changes you. It took her a long time to realize this. Poor Jackson...I loved him and the only thing he ever did wrong was living and loving this woman child and not professing it immediately. I felt so sorry for him.
There is a part at the end of the book that brought me to tears😭😭😭so beautifully written!

The EPILOGUE!!!!!!!! In true Robinson fashion she knocks your socks off and OH M GEEEEEEEEE I can not wait to read Cash’s book next!!!

This was an incredible end to a childhood enemies to lovers to enemies to lovers story. I love this author and I will always read anything and everything she writes!

ARC kindly provided in exchange for a honest review!!!

5 stars!!!!

Let me tell you how I read a book and why I finish it. Every time i start a book I have to always connect somehow with the characters and the story itself. If i don’t connect in that way with a book then probably i would not finish it. I need to feel the characters. Their feelings, emotions, anger, pain. EVERYTHING. That’s what keep me going reading for hours. Being able to connect in some way with the book so I can live through all the feelings myself.

Now let me tell you how I cried my eyes out with this book. Jesus. I can’t even explain it. The feeling, the anger, everything that I just felt while reading it. I felt cheated even when there’s no cheating; Just to put an example. I thought before reading and while reading that I had everything figured out. That this will happen, that that would happen. Blah blah blah. Well nope. Since book one I thought one thing, one thing that made me curious enough about the story and the characters and how everything was developed. I thought that that thing, was a fact in the book. It was even stupid to question it. Well, let me tell you that M. Robinson does come with lots of surprises. I didn’t expect at all the turns of events. What actually happened and how it did.

Jackson and Harley story is more complex than you would thing and their worlds really do conspire against them sometimes. What i really loved though, was the way Jackson loved Harley. Even if he didn’t say those words at all for years, he did make sure to show her.

“𝑰’𝒗𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒘𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒅𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆. (...) 𝑰 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒃𝒐𝒓𝒏 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒏’ 𝒚𝒐𝒖”

However, it wasn’t enough for Harley since her trust and heart was broken. God. There are a lot of things that happen in here. Lots of heartbreaking. Pain. Anger. Laughs. But yeah, if i had to describe this book in one word, it would be: emotions. Too many fvckin emotions. There was one time when after finishing a chapter, I had to stop, cry and be angry at one of them and continue. That’s how much I felt for this book. I never expected what I read. I don’t even know if I understand some character’s actions. But I do know something for sure: this book is so worth reading and crying about.

So....no rating as I scanned....A LOT....just to see the twist. Hint - YOU are NOT the daddy!

Also, this author is on my “Author I won’t read” list for a very good reason but I’m not going to delve into that right now and if you are a fan of her books more power to you - to each their own and this is in NO way bashing you. However, I’m becoming concerned about the authors fascination with the following subject matter:

Sexualizing children - If you’ve EVER read or even scanned a M Robinson book you know she writes a lot of graphic sex between children and maturing children up so that they have sexual thoughts about adults. This ALSO includes graphics rape of teens

Keeping it all in the family - Whether its the heroine pregnant by the Heros brother when she’s not even old enough to really be having sex (MC) OR the Hero lusting and having a relationship with the heroines mother ( Mafia - and yes, he knew the heroine as a child...).

OPs children - heroine raising the Heros love child he had when he was a teen (Good Ole Boys), Hero planning on raising AND having sex with the heroin while she’s pregnant with his brothers child (MC), or in this case the YOU are NOT the Daddy’s little sister shacking up with the Daddy.

I seriously can’t be the only one who thinks the amount of books the author writes that includes the above subject matter isn’t questionable....especially by a publisher.

3 😔😔😔⭐️s

I was praying the second part would be better than the first.
I didn’t enjoy it since it was full of hatred, torture, lies and misconceptions. The angst was very high as well as the twists and especially the drama. Jackson and Harley’s relationship was so toxic that I couldn’t handle.
While in the first book there was an age consistency, here it was back and forth which only increased my frustration.
The last couple of chapters were much better and the scene where Jackson finally decided to see his DNA dementia results Bailey left him was heartbreaking.
I hope to enjoy more the next release by M. Robinson .🤞

Spoiler-Free Duet Review:

Book #1 - 3 Stars
Book #2 - 4 Stars

‘Even if I tried to make her cry. Even if I hurt her. Even if…Even if…Even if…She stayed strong. She was a little shit like that.’

We absolutely love M. Robinson’s stories, they’re always full of angst and passion with her own brand of romance as well as intriguing characters. The Love Hurts duet is certainly one of the most intense love/hate romances which we’ve read, it had real character history with an emphasis on friendship, loyalty and protection. The banter and the powerful push pull was written with a heavy hand but it only added to the heightened emotions of what was to unfold in Love You Now. Without question we enjoyed this duet and we’re glad we waited to read it as a complete book to get the progression through the ages in one hit, and of course because of the cliff-hanger, which Monica Robinson is so well known and loved for. She sure likes to emotionally torment her readers and we’re sure her ultimate goal is to make us cry! And cry we did!

“I want a guy who wants to be with me. The one who will do anythin’ to make me happy. The man who puts me first before everythin’ and anyone. I want the fairytale, my own Prince Charmin’. I know my worth, and I won’t stop till I find him. I refuse to settle. It’s just not in me.”

In Hated You Then, we experience Harley and Jackson’s childhood from the ages 5 to 16. At first the insults, bullying and pranks are typical childhood nemesis behaviour. The old adage; as kids we torment those we like. Well, this certainly rang true with Harley and Jackson.

‘This was when…She went from the girl I hated the most, to the one I needed more than anything in this world.’
‘I owned her. Now. Forever. Mine.’

If you’re read the Pierced Duet you’ll experience parts of it through Jackson’s eyes as there’s a fair amount of retelling. We loved this, and if it broke our hearts the first time around, this time it decimated them. There were parts of Jackson’s pov which had us in floods of tears. We’re huge fans of showing not telling and Monica Robinson certainly did show us. Also, it was great being back with past characters whom we love.

‘Out of everyone in her life…She forgot me first. And all I could think about was…How much time, how many years, how much longer did I have…Until I lost my mind too.’

We have to be honest and say we really struggled with the way in which Harley and Jackson were written in Hated You Then. Their ages did not mesh or even correlate at all with how they spoke nor behaved. We had to keep reminding ourselves how old they were. This completely took us out of the story several times, sadly. We wish this is something that would have been picked up on, as the story had such a brilliant premise, which really is the ultimate enemies to lovers from childhood into adulthood. The queen of angst had two great characters in Harley and Jackson as well as a brilliant story, but this is the one thing that, in our opinion, felt very unrealistic and at times it made for extremely uncomfortable reading, due to their actual ages. We have to admit we struggled through the main part of the first book because of this, however, Monica Robinson pulled it back with a scene which had us in floods of tears and we just had to continue reading, and thankfully we were completely sucked back into the story with Love You Now.

“It’d never work between us.”
“Really? Cuz it sure as shit has been working since we were kids.”
“What? All we’ve ever done is torture each other. What would you call that?”
I leaned in to her face, “Fuckin’ foreplay.”

Love You Now was even more intense on the angst factor. It was a slow arduous journey for both Harley and Jackson who, without question, have been soul mates since birth. Now in their twenties, with flashbacks to their late teens, they are in a place where the past weighs heavy, but as adults they make realisations of the truth behind their extreme childhood behaviour. Nothing has, or ever will, come easy for these two. They may have great love, family and friends in their life, they may even have an easy life compared to many. However, unless the heart is settled and at peace, everything else can pale into insignificance.

“You keep talking about the ghosts of our pasts, but it’s you who needs to bury them.” With that, I turned and left, leaving my bleeding heart in her hands. Even though, she was the one gripping the life out of it. Out of me.’

We loved how Monica Robinson turned this duet around and we found ourselves rooting for Harley and Jackson. The misunderstandings, the secrecy and the pretence all combined in conspiring to stand in the way of a true love. Harley and Jackson’s very own chaotic version of love. It was quite the emotional rollercoaster and we absolutely wanted to bang their heads together a few times. What they both let stand in their way of finding true happiness in each other’s arms was agonising at times. Monica Robinson threw in a few twists, which we loved, and she made sure we truly felt those important emotions in Love You Now. There’s a fine line between love and hate and Monica Robinson got it just right in our opinion. Love will always win!

‘The emotion…The chemistry between us. It was a spark just waitin’ to explode. I wanted his touch. His taste. His adoration and love. Everythin’. Anythin’. Every. Last. Part. Him. My bully. My boy.’

I can't move on with my life. This book ruined me. I can't believe you pulled up that sh*t again, Monica. If you got paid for everytime you made me cry, you would be richer than Zuckerberg. Harley and Jackson are life. I enjoyed every second of Love You Now.

Review to-come.

***

I’m still so mad at Monica. When not, right? Sorry, this won’t be a typical review. Blame the queen of angst who put me through the worst kind of emotional hell. I think I developed some angry issues. *smashes her e-reader*

Well, Love You Know kicks off someplace unexpected. (This whole book is unexpected.) As always you have no time to recover from that event and you’re thrown into the next scene - the very same, yet different, and so much intense one that had many readers kick Jackson in his balls at the end of Hated You Then. After any further detail from bomb #1, followed by the shrapnel of #2, things start to take a serious path, a path lined with love, hate, tears, and twists.

Someone might say it’s redundant to read about the past when so many things from the present are revealed so early. If you think so, you’re mistaken because the past blends into the present so beautifully in this book it hurts to watch the whole picture unfold before you. Ms Robinson masters the art of retrospectives!

I don’t think this story could play out more perfect. The characters grew up (Jackson is my ultimate book boyfriend right now *swoons*), some became dicks (you know, who I’m talking about, Monica), some gave you a good laugh… Just perfect. Love You Now has everything we love about our queen. Angst. Drama. Twists. Some pretty emotional moments. I devoured the book in one sitting!

And yes, it wouldn’t be Monica Robinson if she didn’t end the book with a loud bang. I’m so excited for the next couple. The hero has some explaining to do.

FINAL RATING: 6 stars? My mind is clouded by the anger. The rating is probably inadequate considering I'm not able to pick up a new book.

HOLY SHIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love you now had me losing my DAMN MIND, I've been anticipating this book since that ending in book one left me saying WTF MONICA !!!

I'll be honest when I say that Jackson had some serious EXPLAINING to do and I wanted to see just how things would go down. OH how I wanted to smack the taste out his mouth so many times. HE REALLY MADE my blood boil at times and I could totally understand Harley's reactions to him. Of course deep in the back of my mind I kept thinking MONICA you better have these two end up together. But it's Monica and you just never know with her.

What I will say about a M Robinson book is that she will put you through the ringer before she gives you the OH MY HEART goodness that we all eventually want in a romance. And BOY DOES SHE EVER in this one. I cursed, I gasped, I cursed some more.

And then she drops a BOMB that had me LOSING MY MIND !!!! I Literally had to pause I was so completely blindsided. I'm still in shock even as I type this out and all I can think is DAMN that was brilliant, YOU GOT ME M !! YOU GOT ME !! <>

While I love sweet romance reads, give me one that has me wanting to pull my hair out and wanting to potentially throw my kindle and you've give me book gold as far as I'm concerned. I love books that have me freaking the hell out with what is going on. And this book had it in spades.

If you love a romance that will have you losing your mind then I highly suggest this duet.

OH MY DAMN this book !!! I freaking loved it.

The Love Hurts duet is complete with book two Love You Now by M. Robinson.  I literally had my heart racing with scary beats as I read this story about two friends/enemies that finally realize that love is the biggest winner.  Robinson has the ability to write words that not only draw you in but make you feel like you are there in the story.  There is plenty of drama and turmoil which gives credence to M. Robinson earning the title of Queen of Angst.  Everything Robinson writes is pure gold!  Great characters and a story that will leaving you wanting more which is perfect because it’s Journey and Cash’s turn to have their story told with My Rockstar. 5-stars for Love You Now by M. Robinson.
Harley Jamieson is pregnant, and her lifelong frenemy Jackson Pierce is going to marry her.  All their lives Harley and Jackson have professed their hate for one another but when it comes down to it, they are always there for each other.  Growing up hasn’t been easy for Jackson after losing his mother but Harley has always been there to help him feel better, right until he pulls his next prank.  Both Harley and Jackson have hurt the other one on more than one occasion, but what happens when the hate they always felt towards each other becomes something more?

4 ”Gremlin and Rudolph” stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I stepped toward her, stopping when we were inches apart. “Baby girl, I didn’t marry you just ’cuz you got pregnant. I didn’t marry you just ’cuz I wanted Bailey. I didn’t marry you for any other reason,” I rasped, needing to finally say it, “than I fuckin’ LOVE YOU!”

Man..This story was like a fucking roller coaster. There were so many ups and downs, all filled with angst. I had to take a breather between chapters. I still absolutely enjoyed it. It made me cry, angry, frustrated and finally happy that they finally got their happily ever after. I love how this author weaves a story. It’s like you watch them grow up which is true since the first book was mostly about their childhood.

Whatever complaints I had before, she definitely made up for them in this part. We know that Jackson lost his mother due to dementia as was seen in the previous book which led to a fear in him that he might end up just like her too. He still hasn’t grieved properly, there’s anger and hurt inside him since the first person her mother forgot was him. So when the bomb was dropped of his results left by his mother, let’s just say I wanted my hands on it as soon as possible.

Harley hadn’t just built a wall when it came to me, to us. She built a whole fuckin’ fortress. Never once allowing me behind enemy lines she’d installed.
The good.
“The bad.
The ugly.
I took it all.
’Cuz at the end of the day, Harley and Bailey were mine to have and to hold.

The story is told in present and also in past, which was kind of annoying. I always had to keep in mind the timeline. Harley was devastated when she saw him with someone else, that’s when her trust issues with him started. When the news of her pregnancy came out, they decided to get married ‘cause they wanted to give their a happy childhood just like they had. But the twist was that it was just a facade. They just acted like a couple even though Jackson wanted more but all the drama in their past was holding Harley back.

”Ever since the first time I kissed you, I knew there was no going back. I’ve wanted you for as long as I can remember, Harley. I should have known what you meant to me. Instead, I claimed you the only way I knew how ... by teasing you, taunting you, worshipping you, until I broke you.
My best friend.
My savior.
My girl.
Every look. Every kiss. Every touch. Every tear. It was always you, Harley. Always.”

We get flashbacks where things finally got good between them but it all fell apart in one night. I am not going to give any spoiler but I am going to side with Harley on that. This happens just before her pregnancy. I also got a bit annoying with her too. I felt that she held onto her grudge longer than necessary.

To be with someone, to really be with them on a level other than physical, was something I’d never experienced. Something I had never had.
Until her.

My favourite is still Jackson though. He was really mature, understanding, compromising, caring husband. I loved his intensity and dirty taking ways. I connected to him really well. He never gave up on her, stepped up whenever necessary. My heart broke for all the things he was going through. When I found out why he kept so many videos of Harley and others too, it made me shed a few years.
Why do you have all these? I don’t understand.”
“I just want to be prepared.”
“For what?”
I looked deep into her eyes and spoke the truth, “For when I forget everybody I care about.”

When he finally got the closure and the answers he needed, I was beyond ecstatic. Plus his daughter Bailey was freaking adorable, I loved all their moments.

”Bay, it’s still dark out, baby.
“Da sun must be sweepy den ’cuz time to get up.”
“How about we just do lovies for a little while?” I suggested her term for cuddling.
“She narrowed her mischievous stare at me, contemplating if this was a trick or not.
It was.
“Wuvies?”
“Otay, Dadda, but only for dis many.” She held up five fingers.
“Okay, for an hour because you insist.”

The reason it wasn’t a full five star was because I felt that after dragging the anger and hurt for so long, the acceptance from Harley’s side felt sudden. One cannot change this much after just one open and raw conversation. I wanted the healing to be a bit longer but that’s just my opinion. They both were definitely strong as a couple and the steamy time between them was panty melting hot even though they were far and few.

If you’re looking for an angsty and emotional read with moderate heat, then I recommend this duet. The author’s writing is catchy as well as beautiful. ♥️

(P.S: I hope we get Shiloh and Trigger’s story soon. 💕)
