Take a stupid and obnoxious MC, add in a bunch of unlikeable characters, mix with a plot that could have been good and what do you get? A dumb 186 page book that goes nowhere interesting. I honestly feel stupider having read this. O_o

Read this as part of the Read-O-Rama challenge. It was a nice quick read. Took me about half a day to get through. While I enjoyed the story (although there were several parts that rang as cheesy and mildly perplexing), it wasn't at all what I expected it was going to be. I don't know anything about Joan Lowery Nixon so just from the synopsis, I was expecting an Island of Doctor Moreau type of mystery. Sadly, it wasn't. But it was still a good mystery. It had my wheels turning constantly and her ...more

This book is almost pure fluff but it was my favorite book at the time and I must have read it at least 5 times! A very fun, quick read.

Not too bad a story, has some good suspense. Andy just makes me mad with her Rick obsession. Good for younger readers, middle grade maybe. Very quick read.

So what do I think of the story…. Well, Can I just say… WHAT THE HELL?
I should confess it started really good but ended really horribly. Usually in suspense stories, things that happen through out the story should be connected well and reasonably when the story ends (even if it's open-ended) so naturally it would leave the readers with a feeling of (um, what was that word again...) God-it-all-make-sense-now which you won't find in this book.

The Island Of Dangerous Dreams is a Fascinating book but alittle Sloppy through the middle of the book, But overall its very fast and understanding. Its about a girl named Andrea who had to go on a boat trip to the bahamas to look at a valuable artifact. Unfortuanatley Andrea found out that the artifact is stolen from the peruvian government. Suddenly its gone up missing and everyone will die for it, but now its blamed on Andrea!

Andrea is wasting a month with her aunt, when she is drug along on a trip to a deserted island in the Bahamas. After two murders, a missing artifact, and no way off the island, Andrea turns her mind to crime solving. Yes, maybe some of the plot is see through, but I didn't guess everything before the end and it was a satifactory read.

The book( The island of dangerous dreams )By:Joan Lowery Nixon was a very exciting book the main conflict was while they are trying to find out who has stolen a anceint artifact they had been a murder only making more suspicion. Andrea is the main character, The settin of this book is based of a tropical island. I would recomend this book to anyone who likes horror stories.

This one was a painful read. The main character was self-righteous, obnoxious, and read like someone half of her age. I barely finished the book and I only did so because I wanted to know who the murder was. The plot itself was weak and ill-formed.

The first book I fell in love with as a kid. I still own it, and am reading it again. I admit it doesn't quite have the same appeal as it did when I was younger, but it's still a fun, light and quick read.

Oh Joan Lowery Nixon, I have such fond memories...
This was my favorite Nixon by the way. Mostly due to the fact that the love interest was sexy as hell. Or so I recall.
